Believe Me

Back in Gabon in 1983, the band Surprise was formed. Their main musical influences were Afro-Cuban music, jazz, soul and R&B. Recorded in the Studio N'Koussou in Libreville, Gabon, one of the few studios equipped with a digital 48-track recorder at the time, the result is a sensational production. 'Believe Me' was a breakthrough to Gabonese standards. The record unfortunately did not meet the success the band expected and never had the benefit from a real marketing strategy. After this album the band never recorded together again. This album sees a deserved reissue on vinyl.
