On the cusp of their 1980 album, KALX-FM captured an early live set one of new wave's lesser known, but more intriguing bands. Formed in San Francisco, in 1978, The Explosions primed a retro, new wave hybrid with rockabilly sensibilities, all carried by the unmistakable vocals and presence of singer Pearl E. Gates (a.k.a. Pearl Harbor). This is the entire KALX-FM broadcast of the live gig from the Zellerbach Auditorium U.C. Campus on 24th April 1979. Professionally re-mastered, this LP comes with background liners, interviews and rare archival photos.
