Los Young Beats

The Exciting Sound Of Los Young Beats

In November 1966, five young men entered the Suramericana de Grabaciones Studios in Bogotà, Colombia. They were Los Young Beats and they had come to record their 'Tiempos, Ellos Estan Cambiando' LP. "Our favourite bands were the Rolling Stones, the Animals, Them and the Small Faces, and we wanted to play THEIR songs," recalls Young Beats drummer, Roberto Fiorilli. And so they did. Today this album is one of the rarest and most sought-after collectors items from the South American sixties beat scene, honoured with five circles in Hans Pokoras 1001 RC Dream Book. The fantastic news is that its been hauled out of obscurity and is now available to all who crave those cryptic 66 rave-up sounds - 11 cool and wild tracks, vocals alternating between English and Spanish. Youll be subjected to snarling versions of Baby Please Dont Go, Train Kept A Rolling, Heart Of Stone, For Your Love, Not Fade Away and You Really Got Me, and four 1967 bonus cuts by the Time Machine, the band that emerged from the ashes of the Young Beats. Read the Young Beats history as told by Roberto Fiorilli, and behold previously unseen photos on a glossy 2-page insert. After nearly four decades, we can at last enjoy the exciting 1966 sound of Los Young Beats on a superbly remastered reissue in a full coloured cover on Break-A-Way Records.
