This concert was one of Miles Davis' first after more than half a decade in retirement. His comeback LP, 'The Man With The Horn' (1981) had been released to mixed reviews earlier in the year. This is the loosest music of the comeback years. Loose in a good way; it swings. Miles employed guitarist Mike Stern, bassist Marcus Miller, Al Foster and saxophonist Bill Evans fearlessly treads in the footsteps of Rollins, Coltrane and Wayne Shorter.
