Presented on CHARTREUSE VINYL (only 150 copies) is a notable compilation of recordings by this short-lived NYC-based late '70s post-punk/new wave oufit featuring musicians who'd later pop up in a.o. Swans, Live Skull, Ritual Tension and Chavez. Carnival Crash's music isn't anti-rock or noise. There is melody and dramatic dynamics in the instruments and voices. Important influences, besides Beefheart, were Alice Cooper, Joy Division, The Birthday Party, Wire, Bush Tetras and The Contortions.
