Berlin Wall

War-demo Recordings 1982-1983 (yellow Cover)

The Berlin Wall was a locally well-known four-piece female fronted teenage (post-) punk band, originating from the tiny villages Asten and Someren in the south of the Netherlands. The band existed for exactly 2 years and was founded on July 1 1981, and gave their farewell concert on July 1 1983. During their existence, the band members were only 14 to 16 years old!! After the band broke up, they released their only full-length release 'Where's The Limit?' on cassette at the end of 1983, containing rehearsal and live recordings, interviews and their very last concert. The tape was released by the Dutch cassette label Midas Tapes. On January 3, 1983, the band recorded a session at Drukkerij Nies of which only 4 songs ended up on a compilation cassette at the time. The other tracks were forgotten but fortunately have recently resurfaced and to everyone's surprise in a great quality for its age. If these recordings would have been released in the '80s, this would have undoubtedly become a Dutch punk classic!!! Raw and primitive rattling post-punk, with Fall influences here and there. The songs are not always straight forward and sometimes have contrary riff structures, but when they do play straight forward, they do sound like a punk band. They offer an excellent mix of both in their songs. So now finally on LP! 16 tracks. Limited edition of only 200 copies, with 3 cover variations. Released by Supreme Tool Supplies. Teenagers ripping it all out! Don't sleep!!!
