Check out The 107th Street Stickball Team. It's a killer boogaloo LP from 1969, led by a young Bobby Marin, one of the pioneers of the genre. It mixes Latin grooves with soul, R&B, and '60s rock. It's super catchy and full of NYC street energy. The name was inspired by the Harlem block where Marin and his friends played stickball by day and made music by night. Originally released as a rare mono pressing that now sells for quite the lump of money, this Everland reissue adds 4 unreleased bonus tracks from Marin's vault released by "The Nitty Gritty Sextet". If you're into vintage Latin soul or raw NYC funk then this one is an essential.
