'Today It Rains' is the debut release from the young Esme Bridie. It is a remarkable mature album, considering Esme's youth, and it illustrates her gift for song-writing and poetic lyricism. This set of twelve compositions deals with the usual life themes of love and loss, redemption and guilt, but from the view of someone born at the cusp of the 21st Century. Her style combines flowing angelic vocals and clear finger picked guitar. She draws influences from classic singer-songwriters such as Carole King, Paul Simon and Leonard Cohen.
