A.R. & Machines is the solo project of one Achim Reichel. Released in 1971 the album still retains a magical touch. Turning his back to the original beat movement, Reichel embraced the infinity of a multi-layered sound, experiencing the most prolific path of prog rock while joining the obscure meanders of the lysergic renaissance.

The Ramones once rejoiced the world with the song 'Something To Believe In,' which is, curiously enough (?) about the absence of something to believe in. Long before that Roxy Music had a photograph of a siren - a famous model washed upon the shore - on the cover of their same titled album. So what's the connection between those two? Well, here's the catch: the siren in 'Please, Will You Believe Me,' the last song of 'Karaoke Parkman Blues,' begs to be believed and taken for real... Just as the infamous karaoke parkman himself, a guy in slacks and sneakers, with a smartphone and big headphones, strolling in the park and singing Beatles-songs so loudly (out of context and sometimes even out of tune...) that it echoes through the neighborhood. A siren in his own way. So, we hope you'll believe in this batch of Bingo Trappers-songs and take them for real... They're about dates who are carrying drama-writing-books, packs of stray dogs as a sign of the times, and choppers in the sky. Also about philosophers like Plato and Mark E. Smith and the offspring of Marvel-superheroes... And a gender-fluid pear (like in the fruit)... Dancing in the desert. Well, whatever. The Amsterdam based Bingo Trappers are the moniker of songwriter and singer Waldemar Noë and multi-instrumentalist Wim Elzinga, who also makes the arrangements and recordings of their prolific oeuvre, which starts out in 1995 with the cassette 'More/Soul' on the legendary Shrimper-label. They've been active ever since, Rolling Stone mentions them as special pick with their CD-only release 'Juanita Ave.' in 2001, and in the last decade they're on a steady vinyl-streak with the albums 'Sister Planet' ('13), 'Elizabethan' ('18) and 'Giddy Wishes' ('20) (for the complete discography, see their Bandcamp-page). Their music is tasty enough to dub it a delicious stew of sixties-twangs, bluesy strums, luring slide-guitars or pedal-steels, warm vocals and tickling choirs. Please enjoy.

At the height of the forest folk boom in 2002, the yearning for more manna for the ears led a group of aficionados to invent a programmable forest folk generator software that would then relentlessly spit out the magic sound. Later, the tapes produced by the software went missing for two decades until rediscovered by J. Lehtisalo, who was one of the concept creators and programmers along with S. Pekkola and V. Puhakka.
Among the missing tapes was Circle's album 'Muurahaiset' (Finnish for 'ants'), which consists of a whirlwind of randomly generated field recordings and studio tones, all in a flurry of low-tuned acoustic stringed instruments and spacious crackles of tape hiss occasionally tapering off to spoken word segments in Finnish, creating a soundscape that invites forest folk fans on a quest for idly titillating eardrum euphoria. Limited to 200 copies on black vinyl.

'Underdogs' is the 2024 album by Greek band Empty Frame and marks the beginning of a new era for the band. On 'Underdogs' the heavier, post-rock and psychedelic elements that have always been part of their music, now dominate, without hiding their unique melodic lines. The album emphasizes the immediacy and commanding power of the pummeling guitar-bass-drums trio on the one hand and their trademark soaring cello-violin combo on the other, a sound that matters and exists in the moment. Underdogs are all those people who have suffered oppression, discrimination, violence and facing their dead ends, wake up/breathe and rebel. 'Underdogs,' however, is a word that also fits Empty Frame too, who, after almost twenty years, continue their journey creating, despite adversity, losses and personal dark moments.

Born out of the huge weed haze that was lockdown one, the band set about ripping it up on local stages as soon as they were allowed. Initially the five-piece bonded over a love of seventies rock music... drawing influence from the heavy licks of Black Sabbath, Pentagram and the psychedelic exploration of Hawkwind and Pink Floyd. But as the jams got heavier and the fuzz pedals got weirder, thick and dirty nineties inspired grooves and feedback started to appear, to round out the band's sound. After a year of gigging as much as possible (with the likes of Sasquatch, Dozer and Astrodeath) the band was ready to record their debut album 'Astral Wanderer.' 'Astral Wanderer' is a natural continuation of the band's sound with mammoth fuzz riffs, rhythmic choruses and dark psych soundscapes felt with tension, inspired by occult worship imagery and Australian barren landscapes. This distinctive sound has quickly given Iron Blanket the reputation of one of Sydney's best stoner/psych bands.
