DE LA MORA, FABRICCIO - ENTROPY DEATH
This album is an interpretation of the different stages that constitute the death of a supernova, as well as the hypothesis of the heat death of the universe. Both of these hypothesis stem from the second law of thermodynamics, which states that entropy tends to increase in an isolated system. If this system lasts enough, eventually energy would evenly dissipate, cooling it off. Compared to the previous album, 'Entropy Death' constitutes a more hardcore punk approach to kraut rock, along with a few other unorthodox rhythmic sections that give the album a singular yet original grit. 'Entropy Death' was composed, arranged and recorded at home with the help of Gustavo Jimenez on drums and Sergio Florean on electric guitar.
'Entropy Death' is De la Mora's 2nd solo album. Emitting from
Guadalajara, De la Mora's endeavour is to create futuristic landscapes that could be played in alien surgery rooms, spaceship pursuits, Martian extreme sports events, et al.
These compositions are being presented live as a group named El Nuevo Conjunto Musical de Fabriccio de la Mora (the new musical group of Fabriccio de la Mora), that includes the support of

Repress! The fifth studio album and last euphoric mind-trip to Kikagaku Moyo's imagined island. Best-suited for counting stars, looking at the ocean, and dancing in one's daydream. In many ways 'Kumoyo Island' represents the culmination of a journey for Kikagaku Moyo. While their decade-long career can be summarized as a series of kaleidoscopic explorations through lands and dimensions far and near, there's a strong intention in each of their works to take the listener to a particular place, however real or abstract they may be. In that sense, the title and cover art for the band's fifth and final album draws you into a magical mass of land surrounded by water... but the couch suggests that 'Kumoyo Island'may not be a fleeting stop, but rather a place of respite, where one could pause and take it all in. Reconvening at Tsubame Studios in Asakusabashi, Tokyo, where their earliest material had been recorded, the five members of Kikagaku Moyo found new inspiration in a familiar and comfortable environment. With their adopted homebase of Amsterdam under lockdown and their touring activities halted due to the pandemic, the band felt a renewed sense of freedom being back in Shitamachi, or the old downtown area of their hometown. With unrestricted time in the studio, they began to build upon the demos and song fragments they'd amassed since their last tour. In the 1.5 months spent in Tokyo, everything started to come together. 'Monaka,' its name taken from a type of Japanese wafer sweets, takes melodic inspiration from traditional minyofolk styles, while 'Yayoi Iyayoi' is a rare instance of the band singing in their native tongue, its evocative lyrics utilizing archaic words taken from old poetry and nature books found in one of the many second-hand bookstores of Tokyo. For 'Meu Mar,' an Erasmos Carlos cover, the original Portuguese lyrics were translated into English, then to Japanese. Strangely enough, the words seem to conjure an image of the protagonist floating among the clouds, looking down upon Tokyo Bay. In fact, it may be possible to draw a parallel between the topography of the band's home country... an island nation, surrounded by bodies of water... and the mysterious isle of Kumoyo. Are they one and the same? Has the band finally made it back home? It's up to the listener to decide..

Nicola Giunta and Gioele Valenti (the musicians creating the Lay Llamas dimension) seem to communicate from a different solar system their ecstatic gaze towards an imaginary future world. They rely mainly on a narrative tone of mysterious and spectral dark-psych shades, digging abyss of glacial depht of the self, where light filters through lysergic languors and radiant progressions of luminous dust. Oneiric voices refer to the hybrid chaos of a metropolitan jungle, as a hypnotic and psychic dimension of mind layers. 'Goud' is steeped in numerous literary, mythological, philosophical, ecological and alchemical references. Pulsating and magnetic Farfisa, mesmeric basses and flutes or poisonous pinkfloydian and krautrock patterns forge a clear divinatory aspect of the music. The trip ends in the dark night of the forest, with more acoustic flavours and percussive incense of pure acid-folk. The beautiful cover by Virginia Genta of Jooklo, with her amoebic-cosmic graphics, seems to perfectly seal the sound inspiration of one of the most advanced forges of Italian neo-psychedelia.

At the end of the '80s, while tour managing The Fuzztones, Gary Wilde would sing encores on several stages across Europe to enthusiastic receptions, hence the idea to record with Mr. Wilde taking over the lead vocals and two of those tracks are on this EP. 'Blood From A Stone' and 'Skeleton Farm' with the former backing line up of The Fuzztones. These recording lay to rest for two decades until now. IN 2014 Mr. Wilde returned to the studio to record two songs that are also on this EP. 'Keep On Walking' was originally recorded in 1966 by The Penthouse V and 'Come On In' was the flip of the Music Machine's first single 'Talk Talk'. A neat piece of garage-revival history!

The Skeptics from Bartlesville, Oklahoma recorded a total of 6 45rpm's which were hard to get with picture sleeve when they were issued back in the day. The group has been best described as a garage rock version of the Zombies with a Southern accent of lead singer Jerry Waugh. On a scale from 1 to 10, with the Dovers being a 10, it is fair to say that at least four songs are on par with the Dovers and the rest not too far off mark.
Unheard of for nearly 50 years, an entire LP has been released for the first time on vinyl - the way it was originally intended. Included in the album, is their great folk-rock garage monster 45er 'Ride Child'. This LP includes 11 songs, rare photos of the group and an insert with detailed liner notes.

Decadent Few formed in E. London, 1984, from the ashes of anarcho punks Youth In Asia. Playing a more direct punk style than YIA, their lyrics concentrated on personal experience rather than the general anarcho themes of the day, with an emphasis on feminism and gender violence. Fronted by the unique, soulful and soaring vocals of Kaya Byatta (more Alison Moyet than Poly Styrene), musically DF occasionally veered into darker, postpunk/goth/tribal territory. Negative Insight blogspot wrote: "....but then, there is Kay's voice. She has quite possibly the most powerful and intense voice in UK punk history. Hers is deep, warm, raucous at times... but still always tuneful, it can convey the whole spectrum of human emotion and take simple, efficient punk songs to the next level. If you could blend the energy of X-Ray Spex, the catchiness of A-Heads, the moodiness of Siouxsie and spice it all up with the voice of the bear-eating bastard child of Poly Styrene and Patti Smith, then you would be pretty close to the Decadent Few experience." This LP combines the 7 tracks recorded in 1988 for an unreleased MLP on Real World Records, plus 4 tracks from 1994 that only appeared on a long-deleted US compilation CD. Mid-1980's suburban Chicago punk. Naperville's Protagonists formed in the wake of the first wave of Chicago hardcore punk. Instead of being inspired by the first generation weirdo Chicago punks like Silver Abuse and Tutu & The Pirates or the hardcore legion that followed (AOF, ROTA, Negative Element, etc.), Protagonists drew their motivation from sources as diverse as punk icons Buzzcocks, The Dickies and The Damned to prime era '50s and '60s teen anthems (Buddy Holly, Del Shannon, and The Monkees). The group formed in a Naperville high school, played local talent shows and teen dance parties, and hooked up with older kids (Reaction Formation) who helped them get radio gigs and put out a tape recorded by Phil Bonnet, influential recording engineer and long time friend. The band followed up with a 7" for Reaction Formation's label Nova which garnered positive reviews but they were shortly after pulled apart by the usual strains on the end of adolescent trajectories. This compilation gathers their original tape, unheard outside of the suburban Chicago teen punk scene, and pairs it with the songs
from their hard-to-find 7" EP (originally pressed in 1000 copies in 1985). The b-side features basement demos of original songs recorded by the band as well some great covers which show they could rock as a punk dance band. Limited edition of 500 copies on 160 gram blue vinyl in a 20pt board jacket with full
color printed inner sleeve featuring (lots of) previously unseen photos of the band and detailed liner notes.

Straitjacket with Freddie Wadling on bass and vocals was one of the first punk bands in Sweden. The first gig took place at a motorcycle club and at a gig shortly afterwards, the band was offered money by the organizer to leave the stage prematurely. The band split in the summer of 1978 and the members continued in bands such as Liket Lever, The Leather Nun and Blue For Two.
Straitjacket never had time to make an album, but Busy Bee Production has searched in the members' stashes and can more than 40 years later finally release the mythical Gothenburg
punks on LP. The album consists of a collection of demos
and a live recording from the last concert at the legendary
club Errol's in 1978.

CASSIE - THE LIGHT SHINES ON
Originating on the Isle of Wight in 1978, the band that would eventually emerge as Cassie began initially appearing under the more denim-and-dog-collar monikers of High Voltage and Black Dog. A key moment in the nascent group's history came in late 1978 when Debbie Barker joined the group as lead vocalist and immediately formed a tight songwriting partnership with guitarist Nigel Hayes. Before long, fans of the group now known as Flirt, were calling out for the band's own punky/pop material, rather than their staple of covers, and singing along with them at their numerous local gigs. Several demo and recording sessions occurred between early 1980 and 1983 all of which remained unreleased until now. Despite local radio airplay and gigging, it was not until Flirt caught the attention of former Black Sabbath co-manager and producer Wilf Pine in 1981 that they group would issue what would be their first and only single. Under Pine's management and with the new name of Cassie, the group re-recorded new versions of 'Change My Image' and 'Will You' for a single release on A.K.A. Records in 1982. Despite the record's strength, A.K.A.'s untenable financial situation resulted in almost zero promotion for Cassie's single. Cassie continued to gig and record for a few more years before ultimately disbanding with its members joining other bands. A tragic moment in the band's history occurred in 2002 with the passing of original songwriter and guitarist Nigel Hayles. Thankfully, his great talents are now showcased within this album.

Reissue on CD of a compilation album from 1985. The album contains a collection of songs from bands that at the time maintained good relations with each other. Eton Crop, Blue Murder and Claw Boys Claw were at the beginning of their successes in the Netherlands. Several of the songs on this album have not appeared on any other release and are therefore exclusive for this collection. The restoration of the music was done by Fred Tabois from moldy tapes found by members of Eton Crop whilst preparing their 40th anniversary as a band.

Lost recordings that defined the modern sound of the Sahara.
This album contains the first recordings of modern music from the Sahara and mark the birth of the genre that is known in the West as 'Desert Blues' or 'Desert Rock'. Ahl Nana changed the folk music of the Sahara to modern, cosmopolitan music by using Western instruments like the electric guitar. They paved the way for artists like Ali Farka Touré, Tinariwen, Mdou Moctar or Bombino. Although the group is still active today, they only recorded 2 LPs and a handful of singles. All these recordings took place in 1971 at the Boussiphone studios in Casablanca. The records were never distributed and therefore remained unknown for almost 50 years, until Radio Martiko discovered a batch of unsold factory stock a few years ago. On this album, you will find a selection of these revolutionary recordings.

Since a few years Alessandro Bosetti has been collecting voices that become part of the 'Plane/Talea' archive. The creation of the archive stems from dozens of individual meetings and recording sessions, in which each voice is detached from its owner or originator and anonymized. With each new iteration and performance, Bosetti plays the archive as if it were an instrument. He searches for hidden details and correspondences through exploration, immersion and contemplation. Each re-activation of the archive results in a dense and
swarming polyphony made up of thousands of short utterances - shorter than any word bearing a meaning - recombined and interwoven into complex textures. The particularity of the grain of 'Plane/Talea' lies in the autonomous and darting life that each of these fragments lives in a teeming community of voices. Such polyphonies are rich in microtonal detail emerging from the incessant juxtaposition of vocal objets trouvés. Harmonic relationships are sometimes rough and chaotic, other times surprisingly just. The voices are never treated electronically but only recombined and musical tension is provided by the particular grain, inflection, energy of each one of them in counterpoint to the others and to a frugally used instrumentarium (Harpsichord, Ondes Martenot, Cristal Baschet, grand piano, analog synth, Hammond organ). Implicit reference goes to ancient, modern and postmodern forms of vocal polyphony. 'Plane/Talea 31-34' -the continuation of the homonymous 2016 LP- is a work of sampling that projects an imaginary community and a disembodied choir. The four arching and extensive tracks were created between 2017 and 2018 and bear the trace of two specific moments: August nights in a country house in Vicobarone, in the hills of Piacenza (31-32) and a week-long residency at the Studio Venezia, an environment created by French artist Xavier Veilhan in the French pavilion at the 2017 Venice Biennale (33-34). In the summer of 1978, an ambitious twelve-day experimental jazz project was undertaken at the ancient amphitheatre Tasso della Quercia, on the slopes of Rome's Gianicolo hill. The idea was to assemble the leading players from Italy's avant-garde jazz scene, revolving around members of Grande Elenco Musicisti (or GEM), such as saxophonists Tommaso Vittorini, Eugenio
Colombo and Maurizio Giammarco, trumpeter Alberto Corvini and trombonist/composer Danilo Terenzi, together with visiting American players such as saxophonists Steve Lacy, Steve Potts and Evan Parker, trombonist Roswell Rudd, pianist Frederick Rzewski and drummer Noel McGhee, among others. Different group
configurations were enacted each day and the final gala concert formed the basis of this super rare and highly playful double album, which captures the delightfully messy proceedings. In keeping with the openness of the Roman jazz scene of the day, the project sought to push the boundaries, aiming to break big-band traditions whilst still emphasizing the collective nature of the experience. Enrico Rava's opening 'Tromblues' emphasizes the disparate approaches of these trans-Atlantic teams and Terenzi's 'Dialogando' uses dual trombones to heighten musical discord; in mutated big-band mode, Giammarco's
thrillingly complex 'Vortex Waltz' and Vittorini's 'La Legge E Uguale Per Tutti' both speak to the limitless potential that the project was aiming for.

Varropas is the Suomi duo Jusso Paaro and Samuli Kyto and apart from a handful of appearances on compilation projects this is their first "full" release. Very kraut, very Terry Riley, quite Eno and then it cuts to a lo-fi home recording of lowering and rising oscillations of looped percussion and a repetitive five note guitar "riff".

Debuting here, e+ is the performing name for this enigmatic Ontario, Canada based solo, electronic project. 6 dark pieces of exploratory electronica, delivered in the kind of lo-fi tape hiss you'd find those early Flying Saucer Attack drenched in, this in a way is the electronic equivalent; nice n murky and lo-fi and the sleeve it's delivered in also harks back to those glorious post punk, DIY days - a hand stapled, numbered pressing of 250 in flipover style sleeves just like the old days. Lovely record, and quite reaffirming in a way, that you still see 7"'s like this. Limited to 250 copies.

Masonic Kitchen is the solo project of Chris Walker, whose inspiration came when he found an obscure 1970's sc-fi novel in his local bookshop's bargain pile. Its intriguing cover (with Asimov font) and story's themes "despite being quite dated, inspired 4 tunes that easily have been conceived in the late '70s or early '80s. PY lifted 2 of these tracks for the 7" here and both are just fabulous; ticking all the minimal synth boxes- sequencers, drum machines etc etc. The A side is a particular banger and is already incredibly well received after initial listens to it's teaser clip online. B side 'T-City Scavenger' is also right up there, another killer track. The single is expected to sell out super quick and comes hugely recommended to fans of the early Cabs, Chris & Cosey, early Human League, DAF, Fad Gadget etc... 250 copies.

The Italian Ictus imprint was founded in 1976 by percussionist and composer Andrea Centazzo and his wife Carla Lugli. Running for just under a decade, until relaunching during the mid-2000s, the label produced a couple of dozen highly celebrated releases, the majority of which loosely fall under the banner of free jazz. Ictus' second batch of releases from the label's historic archives logically begins with Andrea Centazzo's 'U.S.A. Concerts,' originally issued in 1978 and out of print on vinyl for the majority of the time since. 'U.S.A. Concerts' draws on the same rough period when Centazzo was working in the United States at 'Environment For Sextet,' which was reissued in the previous batch, and features many of the same players - Polly Bradfield on violin, Eugene Chadbourne on guitar, Tom Cora on cello, Toshinori Kondo on trumpet and John Zorn on saxophone - in different configurations. In fact, the first, second, and seventh tracks - 'Sextet Improvisation,' 'Duet Improvisation 1,' 'Duet Improvisation 4' - were all recorded on the same day at the same location - WKCR Radio in New York on November 7, 1978 - as the aforementioned album.
Beginning with the brilliant textural and tonal explorations of the full ensemble encountered in 'Sextet Improvisation,' the album quickly moves toward quieter and more restrained investigations of roughly similar ground, moving through a series of duo improvisations between the percussionist and Eugene Chadbourne, Tom Cora, and the under-celebrated saxophonist, Jack Wright, whose howling horn is transformed to otherworldly effect by the reverberance of the space within which he works. From here Centazzo embraces the trio form with an improvisation with two more under-celebrated figures from the American scene - Davey Williams playing guitar and banjo, and LaDonna Smith on violin, viola, and voice - capturing a performance in Jackson, Mississippi on November 19, 1978, during which the three fire responsive statements that hang like barbs in the spacious air, before conceding the LP with a brilliant suite of duos with Toshinori Kondo, Williams, and Smith. Offering incredible insight into Centazzo's unique sensibility, as well as into the work of a new generation of stunning improvisers as they emerged at the tail end of the '70s, before going on to help define the '80s free jazz sound, 'U.S.A. Concerts' is a crucial artefact of free music at the juncture; fire on the boundaries of outright noise. An endlessly surprising journey between shifting between airy open passages that feature striking combinations of players, it's sure to knock the socks off more than a few well-seasoned fans.

The short-lived quintet known as the New York Contemporary Five had a lasting impact on the free jazz movement. It was formed in 1962 with trumpeter Don Cherry, who had been working with free jazz pioneer Ornette Coleman; tenor saxophonist Archie Shepp, who'd been working with Cecil Taylor, Gil Evans and more recently, Bill Dixon; Danish alto saxophonist John Tchicai (whose father was Congolese), a former member of the quintet
assembled by the poet and filmmaker Jorgen Leth, who moved to New York shortly before the Contemporary Five's formation; acoustic bassist Don Moore, who had played with Shepp and Dixon; and drummer JC Moses, who had played with Clifford Jordan and trumpeter Kenny Dorham. This rare performance, given at Copenhagen's Koncertsal on 17 October 1963, has epically-extended cuts of Don Cherry's 'Consequences' and Ornette Coleman's 'Emotions,' plus a peppy take of Thelonious Monk's 'Monk's Mood.'

Blending Native American references into a body of sonority that draws on free improvisation, experimental electronic music, and spiritual jazz, Pygmy Unit's 'Signals From Earth' - originally self-released by the band in 1974 - forges a singular and almost entirely unknown path, and stands almost entirely on its own in the history of west coast American jazz.
First appearing on the San Francisco scene sometime during the early 1970s, almost nothing is known about the Pygmy Unit, a seven piece band steered by Darrel De Vore, who contributed flute, bass, percussion, piano, and vocals to the band's lone LP, first appeared with percussionist Terry Wilson within the psychedelic folk rock band, The Charlatans, who belonged to the legendary Family Dog scene. Jim Pepper, a Native American tenor saxophonist known for being a member of the Mal Waldron Quartet, played with Charlie Haden, Don Cherry, and numerous others, and produced the cult favourite, 'Pepper's Pow Wow,' for Embryo Records in 1971. John Celona, who contributes parts on sax, synthesizer, and percussion, would later go on to be regarded as an electronic composer of some note. Of the remaining members, saxophonist Frank Albright, bassoonist Ron Grunn, and percussionist Marvin Kirkland, very little else is known. It seems this LP is more or less all they recorded.
While undeniably jazz - riding a remarkable line between avant-garde electronic music, spiritual jazz, and free improvisation - the band was very much a product of the diverse creative ferment that developed in their hometown of San Francisco during the 1960s. Embodying the raw spirit of DIY (many of the instruments used in the recordings were made by DeVore himself, self-described as an "itinerant flute-maker") the ensemble channels references - via passages of chanting and percussion, as well as conceptual underpinnings - from Jim Pepper's Native American roots, intuiting them with the soulfulness of spiritual jazz, wild moments of avant-gardism centred around synths and electronic effects, and explosions of wild free improvisation.

A collaboration between two up and coming stars of experimental music -Mette Rasmussen and Pak Yan Lau- offering glimpses of probable futures of improvisation. Mette Rasmussen is a Danish saxophone player based in Trondheim, Norway, who first gained attention as a member of Trio Riot, before increasingly branching out as solo artist, working with the likes of Alan Silva, Chris Corsano, Fire! Orchestra, Tashi Dorji, and Ken Vandermark. Drawing from a wide range of influences, from free jazz to textural soundwork, Rasmussen's practice delves into the exploration of the natural rawness of her instrument and its capacity for expression, with and without preparations.
Based in Brussels, Pak Yan Lau is a sound artist, improviser, musician, and composer. Over the last decade, she has developed her own singular sonic universe blending acoustic, electro-acoustic and electronic approaches and working both as a vocalist, as well as with prepared pianos, toy pianos, synths, electronics and various sound objects across a number of solo efforts, in addition to live and recorded collaborations with Chris Corsano, Akira Sakata, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, Tetuzi Akiyama, Rie Nakajima, and Darin Gray. Recorded in Antwerp during late 2017, 'Traditional Noise' features Rasmussen on alto sax, preparations, objects, voice, and Lau on toy pianos, synth, sampler, modified wok, typatune, and electronics, locked in an evolving, conversant sound expanse that pointedly avoids the explicitly musical as the two artists bristle against each other, delivering textural and tonal interventions defined by careful restrain and space.

The three Iraqi musicians of Babylon Trio arrived in Belgium in 2015 as refugees of political and social unrest. Arkan Mushtak is the composer and pinnacle of the band. Like the other members he hails from Baghdad, where from a young age onwards he has been shaped into a talented keyboard and piano player by Iraqi master composer Noor Sabah. 'LOVE & SOCIAL POLITICAL SONGS FROM PERU'S DISCOS HOROSCOPO 1977-1987' - From the mid-1960s onwards, there was a unique moment of fusions in Peruvian culture brought about by Andean migration from the countryside to the city which gave rise to adaptations and intercultural mixing. The culture and music they brought created the genre of Andean tropical cumbia, via electric instruments and arrangements along with modern, popular pop sounds, creating a legacy that is alive to this day. Between 1977 and 1987, the Discos Horóscopo label produced the largest wave of Andean tropical cumbia in the world; Chicha, a reference to the fermented alcoholic drink from the
Andes. The label was filled with contemporary icons such as Chacalón y La Nueva Crema, Los Shapis, Pintura Roja, Los Ovnis, Grupo Alegría and other groups which today still have a cult
status in Peru and beyond. Together they created a unique style with the capacity to talk about both love and uprooting, unemployment, struggle of classes, internal violence and impossible love. This compilation brings together 24 iconic songs from that era, with a focus on the theme of love
songs (A + B side) as well as social political songs (C + D side), highlighting the emotions that this music brought to the popular working classes of Lima, nationwide and the diaspora. More than 30 years later, these songs continue to resonate like the mirror of a country that was reborn but looking at itself and its own identity. Released on outernational label Rebel Up Records in collaboration with Magnetica and Discos Horoscopo. Comes with 12 page booklet with liner notes, lyrics (in Spanish and translated into English) and rare photographs from that era.
