Limited to 300 copies only on space black vinyl LP, with double sided card lyric insert. Housed in a colour outer sleeve with black polylined inner bag and download code. Their journey started a long time ago, some say on Saturn, some say in the subconscious of the human psyche, coming out in different manners through the ages, channelled by mystics, witch doctors, shamans, free thinkers, free spirits. But we do know that what has become Codex Serafini travelled here from their home world on Enceladus in 2019 and crash landed into the music scene of Sussex. Invoking many styles of psychedelic rock from the recent human musical history to open the minds of their human audience to the other world, and higher plane. After releasing two EP's, 'Serpents Of Enceladus' in 2020 and 'Invisible Landscape' in 2021 Codex Serafini embarked on their most immersive journey so far creating what would become 'The Imprecation Of Anima' an exploration of the self, the duality of the human existence. The album is heavy, much heavier than their previous output and the albums longest song, 'Animus In Decay' is longer than either of the bands previous EP's. It snakes and weaves an epic motif through the wilderness of the sometimes barren lands of the unconsciousness, focusing the mind with it's almost heavy metal mantra and using this to open up the third eye to the realisation of our mortal existence. The whole album is a pilgrimage into ones inner self and it's relationship with it's own shadow in it's truest form, two parts coming together as a whole.

KURO - COMPLETE HARDCORE DAMNATION
Kuro is one of the best Japanese hardcore bands of all time. While they never released an album, their 'Who The Helpless' 8" EP is one of the most feral and crushing early Japanese hardcore records. The sound resembles 'Fuckheads'-era Gauze or G-Zet in that you can tell Discharge is the base of the soup, but the playing is more precise, a little cleaner, and with an emphasis on heaviness and grit rather than pure density. People often remark that there's a Motörhead-esque quality to a lot of the best Japanese hardcore, and that's the case here, though the vocals are shredded, up there with John Brannon or Jerry A in intensity.

Cumbria's Hammerhead were one of the most talented outfits to evolve from the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement of the late 1970's. The band issued a self-financed 7" single on their own Linden Sounds label in 1981, which included their popular 'Time Will Tell'. The original band split up around 1986 and reformed in 2005, and they soon released ther first studio album 'Headonizm', followed by the critically acclaimed 'The Sin Eater' in 2015. Now they have recorded the album 'Lords Of The Sun', which took long to write and produce. This due to the band's perfectionism of writing quality songs and solid sound production, and leaving no 'fillers' on the album.

Early 1990's indie rock band Wild Carnation played raw, loud and fast, with Richard Barnes distorted, jangly guitar lines perfectly colliding with Brenda Sauter's propelling bass notes, while Chris O'Donovan kept it together, while pounding the living hell out of his drums. Invited by film director Susanna Fanzun, to score her forthcoming documentary on Giacometti, Hania Rani took herself to the Swiss mountains to compose in isolation. The compositions are based on improvised melodies, simple harmonies and structures and inspired by the silence of the mountains as Rani returns to her main instrument, the piano. The results are beguilingly reminiscent of her beloved debut album 'Esja', but with subtle extra layers of synthesiser, and on two tracks cello from long-running collaborator Dobrawa Czocher. 'ELECTRONIC MUSIC FROM INDIA 1969-1972' - The 'NID Tapes' presents a collection of early Indian electronic music uncovered at the archives of the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad. Recorded between 1969-1972 the compilation chronicles electronic works from the previously unknown Indian composers Gita Sarabhai, I.S. Mathur, Atul Desai, S.C. Shama and Jinraj Joshipura who worked at the nation's first electronic music studio founded at the NID during the utopian years following India's independence - a radical period of visionary experimentation and artistic freethought. The compilation presents excerpts from the 27 reels of archive tape spanning the three years of the studio's operational history. Showcasing work from the pioneering electronic composers, NID teachers and technicians including Gita Sarabhai, who had previously studied with John Cage in New York in the 1940's. The audio showcases their various visions for electronic music production, exploring analogue synthesis, tape collages, voice experiments and field recordings revealing a meeting point of Western and Indian avant-garde traditions, and offering a unique insight into South Asia's post-colonial sonic imaginary.

Originally this extraordinary heavy-psychedelic-blues rock album was recorded in L.A. in 1969. The album contains 8 original cuts of 42 minutes playing time, and presents the "NEW" dark, haunted and aggressive progress in electric music of the end-sixties. The band name was a creation, to credit the two founding members, so the C (Carey) K (Kewley) Strong caravan began in the summer of '69, a bit later Geoff Westen, the second guitarist joined and the creative unit CK(W) Strong was born. There was a big hope, that this extremely talented group would breakthrough, as the liner notes on the cover express: "Hearing is believing, but even then, you'll come away shaking your head in disbelief... everything original, everything ebullient and everything "strong" in modern-day record production. Miss Carey is worth the price of admission, even if she didn't sing. A radiating, well-endowed blonde, her pyromagnetic caroling scans three octaves. To these ears she's at least the equal of Janis Joplin. Our guess is that C.K. Strong will be one of the major chart acts of '69." Lynn Carey, who also contributed to the cult-soundtrack of 'Valley Of The Dolls,' left the group shortly before the production of the second album started, to evolve into a solo career as Mama Lion, Jefferson Kewley later joined the Alice Cooper Band and toured also with Jerry Garcia, together with Geoff Westen both performed with Mac Davis. Westen performed also with the underground psychedelic band The Other Half, but soon became owner of Oz Studios in L.A. This reissue is carefully remastered and expresses freshly the natural and open sound of this amazing production, contains a bio and cool "unseen" photos from the musicians archives, this is a must-have album. Unbelievable!

This release is the second in the Dragonwyck trilogy. The group from Cleveland was one of the most promising bands from the early '70s in that area. After their first legendary 1970 heavy psych album the keyboardist changed, and the band left their garagy Doors influences to create their own sound. The music on these well produced stereo-recordings exists only on acetate (5 copies), and drifted more into the British vein of progressive rock, like King Crimson, Pink Floyd or Yes, but also reflects a US Westcoast feeling like It's A Beautiful Day. By 1972 Dragonwyck was performing Moody Blues complete 'Days Of Future Passed' live on stage, which turned out extremely well, so this is for sure the strongest note you'll recognize. The 10 original cuts are intense and very unique with strong melodies/vocals, heavy guitar solos and an extreme variety of keyboard and vocal sounds - an awesome mix of heavy underground rock with classical chamber-music style/elements. Included youll find a bonus 45 record (with picture sleeve) which was released in 1974, also a poster with a bio, authentic press-releases and cool photos. Remastered from the original mastertapes. The album was originally released in 1969 on Dot-Records but didn't receive too much attention - maybe it appeared as a "too" freaked out heavy version of Jefferson Airplane or Big Brother & The Holding Co. The group started back in Atlanta Georgia in 1967 as a quartet with 2 guitars, played true psychedelic sound, recorded with Tom Wilson at the Record Plant in NYC, and moved to Woodstock (NY). The 10 album tracks contain 2 arrangements of traditional tunes all others are originals reflecting true electric heavy blues with a strong Hendrix feel, duelling guitarwork and an outstanding female voice/vocals/screams... lots of intense stereo effects. The group performed at Woodstock Festival in 1968 (one year before...) and played the hottest venues of NYC such as Filmore East. Ellen McIlwaine, the founder of the group made an international solo career as blues-singer and slide guitarist sharing the bill with Jimi Hendrix (main influence), Laura Nyro, Howlin' Wolf, Weather Report, Taj Mahal, George Thorogood, Tom Waits, Chicago, Bruce Springsteen and played a series of concerts with Johnny Winter. This release, with stunning soundqulity from the masters comes with original foldout cover art plus innersleeve with pictures, memorabilia and biographical background. For all '60s collectors who are not familiar with this masterpiece - it's a must - there are not many groups that were able to present the freewheelin' live on stage feeling on their studio album!

This special collection of original songs and sounds is an exciting bit of rock history that documents some of the charm, wit and depth of talent that made Freeman Sound the special local phenomenon they were. This release includes 12 great, quality tracks, with bio and photo inserts. You'll get stoned on some mind-bending vocals backed by instrumentation that includes some very intense, heavy fuzz and wah pedal guitar sounds, solid drums and a screaming organ (with flashes of famous British groups such as Free, Spooky Tooth or Arcadium). Hamana's debut album recorded in 1974, was issued on the local Phoenix label Canyon Records. To most of the '60s psychedelic rock/folk fans this is almost an unknown album, original pressings seem to be disappeared, only a few copies are known in collectors hands. Bruce Hamana, a native American, is member of the Indian Hopi Tribe and went in 1969 to college near San Francisco to live "in the white man's world". Instead of traditional native American themes he felt like writing "modern, revolutionary, contemporary music" - the result you hear on this album is powerful and melodic, and expresses perfectly the sunny California peace, love and freedom feeling, but also contains a social-critical message. "One of these days everything is gonna change, things you take for granted will be taken away from you..." The music itself is emotive with strong vocals, lots of Westcoast psychedelic guitar flashes, a bit garage flair but also loner folk style. The appeal of this album reminds of Quicksilver Messenger Service, The Byrds, X.I.T, Neil Young, Buffalo Springfield, Garrett Lund. Near unbelievable that on these recordings all instruments, bass, guitars, vocals and drums have been played by Hamana himself, to get overdubbed and to become finally a tasty and atmospheric stereo acoustic/electric mix. This reissue is a mastertape release licensed by Canyon Records - highly recommended! Limited edition of 500 copies on 180gr vinyl, original cover, heavy sleeve.

Here's the audiophile produced vinyl reissue from the mastertapes, produced and arranged by Milan, a.k.a. Rick Rodell, and Max Ellen, both professionals in the music business. The band had garagy roots and evolved from Household Sponge to The Head Shop. Based in NYC, this psychedelic underground project had a unique sound, charcterized by soulful vocals, flying Hammond organ, fuzzy bass, distorted lead guitars, lots of percussive and weird rhythm instruments, plus several unexpected stereo experiments. A highlight for sure is their haunted interpretation of Bobby Hebb's 'Sunny'! Conceptional, but also musically there are some parallels to Joe Meek. Another major influence is The Beatles' experimental period, not just because of the cover version of 'Revolution.' Larry Coryell features as "wailing" guest musician on the track, 'I Feel Love Comin' On.' Also including the truly demented 'Listen With The Third Ear,' this album with 9 musical chapters will lead you into new musical and audiophile dimensions of psychedelic and progressive music.

ID - THE INNER SOUNDS OF THE ID (2LP)
The Id is an incredible 1967 Los Angeles studio musician project. The members of the group were all playing with other groups, but came together for rehearse, develop and build the album. In July and August of 1966 they recorded the 'Inner Sounds Of Tthe Id' album, released in January of 1967, just when the new age of rock and roll had begun. The band was featured in a full-page advertisement in Billboard Magazine. The single of 'The Inner Sounds Of The Id,' 'Short Circuit,' along with the title cut 'The Id,' and 'Boil The Kettle Mother,' became popular on the undergound radio stations in L.A. Billboard gave the song 'Short Circuit' a Bullet and very favorable reviews. The executive producer of the group wanted to debut the band in Chicago. The musicians felt they should open in San Francisco, which was more open for "modern," experimental sounds. But, The Id went to Chicago and played there for three weeks. Things did not work out and the band returned to Los Angeles. The musicians went their separate ways. 'The Inner Sounds Of The Id' features rock and roll with various sounds, oriental influences, played in various time signatures like 17/8, 20/8, and 7/4 time, as well as straight-ahead blues/rock in 4/4 time. The title track, longer than 10 minutes is build as a collage, meditative lyrics transmit the vibrations from the deep inside through a mystic, floating sound and cosmic sitar - rock and roll from inner space. 'The Inner Sounds Of The Id,' is always an intense and creative album on highest level of musicianship and proficiency. Here you hear the rock'n'roll roots drifting into psychedelic and progressive music - not comparable to others, it was ahead of its time and maybe it inspired the Beatles for their 'Sgt. Pepper' album or Rolling Stones for 'Their Satanic Majesties Request.' For a brief look at the musicians in The Id: bandleader Jerry Cole started with The Champs, who had the hit 'Tequila' in the early '60s and later worked together with Paul Revere and the Raiders, Steely Dan, Ray Charles, Chicago, The Byrds, Greg Allman and others. Drummer Don Dexter recorded and played with numerous name artists such as Glenn Yarbrough, Ricky Nelson, and Del Shannon, and performed on The Johnny Carson Tonight Show, Ed Sullivan Show and various other TV shows. Both Cole and Dexter are members of the Rockabilly Hall Of Fame. Other members of the group are Rich Cliburn who became the lead guitar player in the hit band Smith who had the hit 'Baby It's You.' Glenn Cass played bass and went into country music and eventually had a TV Show. Norm Cass, Glenn's younger brother, played lead guitar and did arranging for more than 15 years with country music star Gene Watson. The second LP contains an extended and informative booklet plus 10 bonus tracks.

In 1968 in Seattle Herb Cohen and Frank Zappa was in the audience after his sound check, and was listening to Easy Chair, Jeff's group. Fascinated by his talent, he was signed for Straight Records. Both albums, 'Lucille Has Messed My Mind Up' and 'Naked Angels' were recorded in 1969. The 'Lucille' album was produced by by Chris Huston (Led Zeppelin II, Undertakers, Young Rascals) and Frank Zappa under the synonym "La Marr Bruister", who wrote the title track, played lead guitar on two tracks and co-wrote 'Wonderful Wino.' 'Lucille' contains 10 catchy tracks of heavy blues-rock and folk. Jeff is playing a hard-driven and groovy bass, piano, organ and accordion and singing in a style similar to that of Jack Bruce with Cream. Simmons presented a brace of strong, harmonically sophisticated songs that have some of the explosive, multi-hued impact of the Jimi Hendrix Experience. (Ben Watson, excerpted from Frank Zappa: "The Negative Dialectics of Poodle Play")... "No one knows it... not even him... but someday that kid's gonna be a great R&B singer" (Frank Zappa). Jeff was in The Mothers Of Invention at the time of '200 Motels,' Jeff also played rhythm guitar on 'Waka/Jawaka' and clowns about with Frank and George Duke on 'Roxy & Elsewhere.' The music was carefully remastered to sound today as fresh as it was 40 years ago. 'Lucille' was rated in Mojo Magazine as the 2nd best release on Straight Records. Sproton Layer was a psychedelic rock band based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which thrived from the fall of 1968 through the summer of 1970. They began under the name Freak Trio - three hyperactive brothers, Laurence, Ben, and Roger Miller who became, at the young ages of 14-16, addicted to Pink Floyd's 'Piper At The Gates Of Dawn' when it came out in '67! Their unique and euphoric creation of music ranges from progressive-acid-punk to heavy psychedelia with catchy chord changes and spaghetti western Ennio Morricone flashes, with epic results. The energy of 'With Magnetic Fields Disrupted,' which was recorded in 1970, is just unbelievable. Twelve strong, intense space music episodes of destruction and rebirth with NO FILLER! Journalist Michael Azerrad described their recordings in his book 'Our Band Could Be Your Life' as "...a valuable document of an amazing band that sounded like Syd Barrett fronting Cream." The album was first released in 1991 by New Alliance Records, but it did not catch much recognition among the '60s collector freaks. From New York City, The Tea Company was one of the early birds from the US psychedelic underground scene, with an LP on the market, originally released on Smash Records in '68. This album stands for the evolution of the 45 rpm psych-garage bands to the upcoming LP-generation with extended improvisation parts. Tea Company evolved from the Naturals, which were founded in 1963 and played the big ballroom supporting Mamas and the Papas, The Lovin Spoonful, Bob Dylan, Ritchie Havens, and many others. The band describes themselves as "an assemblage of possessed rock performers; retinue preparing the unusual; alternating with the roots of soul, whose purpose is to cause sensation, due to stimulation of the auditory centers of the brain!" They became famous in San Francisco for spectacular live shows and lyrical hippie statements. The music is influenced by the Beatles, because they used exactly the same equipment. The group played with lots of freaked-out-echo-organ/-guitar noises on a 12 string Rickenbacker and various stereo madness reminds strongly of Syd Barrett's spirit, but more driven by hard hittin' drums. Being buddies of Vanilla Fudge and inspired, the Tea Company also did an outrageous 9 minute version of 'You Keep Me Hangin' On,' which is celebrated among '60s collectors as a true milestone. The album is a mindblowing intense production. Remastered for this release, the sound is very fresh and heavy. Originally this extraordinary heavy-psychedelic-blues rock album was recorded in L.A. in 1969. The album contains 8 original cuts of 42 minutes playing time, and presents the "NEW" dark, haunted and aggressive progress in electric music of the end-sixties. The band name was a creation, to credit the two founding members, so the C (Carey) K (Kewley) Strong caravan began in the summer of '69, a bit later Geoff Westen, the second guitarist joined and the creative unit CK(W) Strong was born. There was a big hope, that this extremely talented group would breakthrough, as the liner notes on the cover express: "Hearing is believing, but even then, you'll come away shaking your head in disbelief... everything original, everything ebullient and everything "strong" in modern-day record production. Miss Carey is worth the price of admission, even if she didn't sing. A radiating, well-endowed blonde, her pyromagnetic caroling scans three octaves. To these ears she's at least the equal of Janis Joplin. Our guess is that C.K. Strong will be one of the major chart acts of '69." Lynn Carey, who also contributed to the cult-soundtrack of 'Valley Of The Dolls,' left the group shortly before the production of the second album started, to evolve into a solo career as Mama Lion, Jefferson Kewley later joined the Alice Cooper Band and toured also with Jerry Garcia, together with Geoff Westen both performed with Mac Davis. Westen performed also with the underground psychedelic band The Other Half, but soon became owner of Oz Studios in L.A. This reissue is carefully remastered and expresses freshly the natural and open sound of this amazing production, contains a bio and cool "unseen" photos from the musicians archives, this is a must-have album. Unbelievable!

COLD SUN - DARK SHADOWS
First time available on CD. Cold Sun from Austin, Texas recorded this album in 1970 in the legendary Sonobeat studios, where the Mariani LP and Johnny Winter's first LPs were produced. The Cold Sun band are considered contemporaries of Velvet Underground and The Fugs, often listed as being in a similar vein but inspirations for this unique piece actually go back to the desperated, haunted Joe Meek. All songs lyrically express dark, mystic poetry with the true '60s psychedelic floating/distorted fuzz spirit presented in short compact mini-epics along with several mind blowing long tunes, such as 'Ra-Ma' (11 min), 'Here In The Year' (9 min) and 'Fall' (7 min). Discovered by Rockadelic Records of Dallas, Texas in 1991, the 'Dark Shadows' album saw the light of day the next year as a limited LP version, to become today one of the most important and revered US psychedelic underground albums from the early '70s. Rockadelic heard it in the form of an old scratchy acetate that one of the Cold Sun band members had made in order to be able to play the recording at friend's parties on their turntables. The acetate only contained 2/3 of the songs but they were so greatly impressed them that Rockadelic managed together with bandleader Bill Miller to release the complete sessions from the mastertape. Autoharp wizard Miller eventually spearheaded Roky Erickson's international debut as the Cold Sun band joined forces with Roky in 1974 and became BliebAlien, later evolved into The Aliens and backed Roky on his famous albums and historical concerts. Carefully remastered from the mastertapes, this album will bring new rewarding listening experiences in expanded fidelity, plus 2 unreleased non-album songs, authentic live/concert recordings of 'Live Again' (10 min) and 'Mind Aura' (7 min). The fidelity of these reel to reel live recordings is also remarkable. Comes with an extended booklet/insert with liner notes by Jello Biafra plus rare photos and other surprises. COSMIC DEALER - CHILD OF TOMORROW
This is the previously unreleased second album by the Dutch psychedelic hard rock band Cosmic Dealer. Their first album 'Crystallization' from 1971 is an outstanding and rare masterpiece for all psych collectors and for sure one of the best Euro-underground rock albums of the '70s. In 1971 the band shortly disbanded but found eachother again in 1973 with a few line-up changes but kept the same musical intention: heavy psychedelic, progressive and guitar driven hard rock, with catchy song writing, a few US-Westcoast flashes but also extended instrumental jam excursions. This album contains 6 songs which were recorded in 1973, plus 3 demos from 1971 and as bonustracks there are 4 live cuts also from 1971 including the title track from their debut Crystallization. The CD with a total running time of 68 minutes contains a 12-page booklet with lots of photos and linernotes and is carefully re-mastered to catch the real spirit of the beautiful and intense music.

This CD-release is the first of a WIS - Dragonwyck trilogy! The group from Cleveland (OH) was one of the most promising bands in that area, opened shows for bands as Foghat, Golden Earring, Edgar Winter Group etc. The mood of the music is dark, mystic and strongly influenced of the time's spirit, the hippie age... "anything goes"! Shortly after highschool in 1970, the 5 guys recorded 7 tracks and released a test pressing on Pama Records in an edition of only 85 copies. It was reissued in the 1990s by Rockadelic Records as limited edition on LP and CD, since then this band is a milestone for all heavy/psychedelic music collectors. Jim Morrison and The Doors brought main inspiration to Dragonwyck's music, with the small difference, the songs are heavier and more progressive, the sound is not just dominated by great vocals, there are lots of freaked out heavy guitar solos and swirling Hammond B3 organ, which brings the individual note to the music. The core of musicians started as Sunrise in 1968 and released one 45 record. This CD is from the mastertape which seemed to be lost and contains 5 bonus tracks (3 unreleased), a bio, cool original artwork and photos. This time as normal jewel case. A true masterpiece!

This "previously unreleased" album from 1974 rounds off the World In Sound trilogy of Cleveland's most celebrated '70s "art-psychedelic" rock groups. It's Dragonwyck's most professional piece of music and truly decent pioneering in combining '60s psych compositions, tape looping, and mid-'70s symphonic theatrical art-rock: "Fun is what the name implies; hard work, a lot of sweat... orchestrated rock that is orchestrated without an orchestra"... sure they were inspired by the conceptions of giants, like Genesis, Gentle Giant or Yes and express a few Bowie-flashes, but it sounds like a unique collage of detailed studiowork. Compared to the time when it was recorded it's extremely innovatively produced and became a great artistic statement with finally 10 original cuts (plus 2 bonustracks). Includes 8 page color booklet. You'll hear prog-psych flashes and crazy symphonic perversions with weird vocals/voices, powerful guitars, violin and lots of keyboards. While the first album was minimalistic dark/heavy and strong Doors influenced, the second created more "British Invasion" flashes a la Moody Blues or King Crimson, to make this third album the most variative and unexpected one. The garage-psych-freak should get his satisfaction by album no. 1, but this one's a must have album for open minded '70s music fans who love to get excited by surprisingly different moods in rock music.

EASY CHAIR - EASY CHAIR
Long expected and now reissued (with remastered sound) for the first time. Easy Chair's 1968 one-sided album, with a running time of 20 minutes, is one of the most sought-after US North-West psych-underground records of all time. Original copies have been sold for over 1.000 US$. Justly remembered as psychedelic rock pioneers, they crammed an amazing career into only one year of activity. Easy Chair performed with The Yardbirds, Cream and The Mothers Of Invention. Their epic West coast blues features the unique chemistry of psychedelic guitar leads, fluid lines and hypnotic chording. By the end of 1968 they caught the attention of Zappa's crew and signed a record contract with Bizarre Records. Unfortunately Easy Chair broke up too soon, though multi-instrumentalist Jeff Simmons, together with drummer Al Malosky, recorded the 'Naked Angels' soundtrack. After releasing his solo album 'Lucille Has Messed My Mind Up' in 1969, Jeff joined The Mothers.

The album was originally released in 1969 on Dot-Records but didn't receive too much attention - maybe it appeared as a "too" freaked out heavy version of Jefferson Airplane or Big Brother & The Holding Co. The group started back in Atlanta Georgia in 1967 as a quartet with 2 guitars, played true psychedelic sound, recorded with Tom Wilson at the Record Plant in NYC, and moved to Woodstock (NY). The 10 album tracks contain 2 arrangements of traditional tunes all others are originals reflecting true electric heavy blues with a strong Hendrix feel, duelling guitarwork and an outstanding female voice/vocals/screams... lots of intense stereo effects. The group performed at Woodstock Festival in 1968 (one year before...) and played the hottest venues of NYC such as Filmore East. Ellen McIlwaine, the founder of the group made an international solo career as blues-singer and slide guitarist sharing the bill with Jimi Hendrix (main influence), Laura Nyro, Howlin' Wolf, Weather Report, Taj Mahal, George Thorogood, Tom Waits, Chicago, Bruce Springsteen and played a series of concerts with Johnny Winter. This release is issued with stunning soundquality and includes a nice booklet with pictures and biographical background. For all '60s collectors who are not familiar with this masterpiece - it's a must - there a not many groups that were able to present the freewheelin' live on stage feeling on their studio album!

Hamana's debut album recorded in 1974, was issued on the local Phoenix label Canyon Records. To most of the '60s psychedelic rock/folk fans this is almost an unknown album, original pressings seem to be disappeared, only a few copies are known in collectors hands. Bruce Hamana, a native American, is member of the Indian Hopi Tribe and went in 1969 to college near San Francisco to live "in the white man's world". Instead of traditional native American themes he felt like writing "modern, revolutionary, contemporary music" - the result you hear on this album is powerful and melodic, and expresses perfectly the sunny California peace, love and freedom feeling, but also contains a social-critical message. "One of these days everything is gonna change, things you take for granted will be taken away from you..." The music itself is emotive with strong vocals, lots of Westcoast psychedelic guitar flashes, a bit garage flair but also loner folk style. The appeal of this album reminds of Quicksilver Messenger Service, The Byrds, X.I.T, Neil Young, Buffalo Springfield, Garrett Lund. Near unbelievable that on these recordings all instruments, bass, guitars, vocals and drums have been played by Hamana himself, to get overdubbed and to become finally a tasty and atmospheric stereo acoustic/electric mix. This CD-reissue is a mastertape release licensed by Canyon Records and contains an 8 page booklet plus 2 previously unreleased bonustracks. Highly recommended.

Re-released as jewel case. "DO YOU WANT HEAD? BLOW YOUR MIND WITH THE HEAD SHOP ALBUM!" screams a commercial add in New York's Screw magazine in 1969. Here's the audiophile produced vinyl reissue from the mastertapes, produced and arranged by Milan, a.k.a. Rick Rodell, and Max Ellen, both professionals in the music business. The band had garagy roots and evolved from Household Sponge to The Head Shop. Based in NYC, this psychedelic underground project had a unique sound, charcterized by soulful vocals, flying Hammond organ, fuzzy bass, distorted lead guitars, lots of percussive and weird rhythm instruments, plus several unexpected stereo experiments. A highlight for sure is their haunted interpretation of Bobby Hebb's 'Sunny'! Conceptional, but also musically there are some parallels to Joe Meek. Another major influence is The Beatles' experimental period, not just because of the cover version of 'Revolution.' Larry Coryell features as "wailing" guest musician on the track, 'I Feel Love Comin' On.' Also including the truly demented 'Listen With The Third Ear,' this album with 9 musical chapters will lead you into new musical and audiophile dimensions of psychedelic and progressive music.

ID - THE INNER SOUNDS OF THE ID
The Id is an incredible 1967 Los Angeles studio musician project. The members of the group were all playing with other groups, but came together for rehearse, develop and build the album. In July and August of 1966 they recorded the 'Inner Sounds Of Tthe Id' album, released in January of 1967, just when the new age of rock and roll had begun. The band was featured in a full-page advertisement in Billboard Magazine. The single of 'The Inner Sounds Of The Id,' 'Short Circuit,' along with the title cut 'The Id,' and 'Boil The Kettle Mother,' became popular on the undergound radio stations in L.A. Billboard gave the song 'Short Circuit' a Bullet and very favorable reviews. The executive producer of the group wanted to debut the band in Chicago. The musicians felt they should open in San Francisco, which was more open for "modern," experimental sounds. But, The Id went to Chicago and played there for three weeks. Things did not work out and the band returned to Los Angeles. The musicians went their separate ways. 'The Inner Sounds Of The Id' features rock and roll with various sounds, oriental influences, played in various time signatures like 17/8, 20/8, and 7/4 time, as well as straight-ahead blues/rock in 4/4 time. The title track, longer than 10 minutes is build as a collage, meditative lyrics transmit the vibrations from the deep inside through a mystic, floating sound and cosmic sitar - rock and roll from inner space. 'The Inner Sounds Of The Id,' is always an intense and creative album on highest level of musicianship and proficiency. Here you hear the rock'n'roll roots drifting into psychedelic and progressive music - not comparable to others, it was ahead of its time and maybe it inspired the Beatles for their 'Sgt. Pepper' album or Rolling Stones for 'Their Satanic Majesties Request.' For a brief look at the musicians in The Id: bandleader Jerry Cole started with The Champs, who had the hit 'Tequila' in the early '60s and later worked together with Paul Revere and the Raiders, Steely Dan, Ray Charles, Chicago, The Byrds, Greg Allman and others. Drummer Don Dexter recorded and played with numerous name artists such as Glenn Yarbrough, Ricky Nelson, and Del Shannon, and performed on The Johnny Carson Tonight Show, Ed Sullivan Show and various other TV shows. Both Cole and Dexter are members of the Rockabilly Hall Of Fame. Other members of the group are Rich Cliburn who became the lead guitar player in the hit band Smith who had the hit 'Baby It's You.' Glenn Cass played bass and went into country music and eventually had a TV Show. Norm Cass, Glenn's younger brother, played lead guitar and did arranging for more than 15 years with country music star Gene Watson. This CD contains an extended and informative booklet plus 10 bonus tracks.

This album is a legendary artifact for all '60s and '70s music collectors, original copies in good condition change hands for about 500 US$. The spirit of the music is a tasty combination between aggressive grroovy fuzz-garage-hard rock and atmospheric psych-folk with moody vocals and a poetic message, comparable to World In Sound's legendary Phantasia or D.R. Hooker. LAGHONIA - GLUE
The core of Laghonia featured a combination of Peruvian and US citizens, Saul Cornejo (vocals, guitar), Manuel Cornejo (drums) and David Levene (lead guitar and vocals). All eight tunes on this album were released on 45s under the group's earlier name New Juggler Sound. When the band changed its name into Laghonia in 1970, the 'Glue' album came out, with lyrics in English, great fuzz-wah-wah guitars, Hammond B-2 organ and appealing percussion. The music is catchy psychedelic rock'n'roll, influenced by the British Invasion, especially the Beatles and Yardbirds, but also explodes with heavy guitar riffage/solos in the vein of Santana, Cream or Hendrix. The album is remastered from the mastertape and includes a poster with a bio and band pics. Both Laghonia LPs, 'Glue' and 'EtCetera,' belong to the most legendary and most collectable South American '70s albums.
Comes in a high quality digipack cover (same material as the Mystic Siva CD) with an extra 8 page booklet and amazing original artwork by M. Cornejo.

Re-release in jewel case. Modulo 1000 is one of Brazil's famous progressive-psych rock bands of the early 1970s. Their only album (from 1972) became legendary in the collectors scene as one of the best South American records of all times besides Laghonia, Emiliano Zapata, Traffic Sound or Opus Alfa. As Luiz Simas (organ) remembers: "The music of Modulo 1000 had its own appeal to an audience that wanted a heavy, raw, experimental, psychedelic sound. Our kind of music did not make it to the radio stations. It was too wild. The distribution of the record was done in a very limited way. The record label directors, which probably didn't understand or even didn't like our music, did zero promotion for it."

It's the rebirth of Mystic Siva! They are without any doubt one the ultimate US heavy psychedelic undergound gems from the 1970s. Finally, this album is now available with a more superior sound than anyone of us could ever expect, it's remastered and remixed from the original first generation master tape, while the original album in 1970 was taken from a second generation tape; it had included overdub guitarsolos on the three songs, to get more of the intended intensity into mix but in the end the original album sound did not reach the expectations of the group, it was too sterile instead of a more natural sound with the distortion and feedback. This issue here is the REAL THING, you will hear it like it was intended in 1970. The four Sivas put '60s hippie garage psychedelic rock music on a darker and higher level of intensity, while the slower atmospheric tunes remind of the Doors, Jimi Hendrix or Iron Butterfly, the heavy cuts are unexpectedly crazy, mind blowing and hypnotic with flashes of the later upcoming rural 1980s thrash punk/metal vibe. NOW after 43 years these original album recordings express at its best the challenging and inventive concept and the pure beauty of Mystic Siva's music, 11 original songs with a total running time of 46 minutes. Sproton Layer was a psychedelic rock band based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which thrived from the fall of 1968 through the summer of 1970. They began under the name Freak Trio - three hyperactive brothers, Laurence, Ben, and Roger Miller who became, at the young ages of 14-16, addicted to Pink Floyd's 'Piper At The Gates Of Dawn' when it came out in '67! Their unique and euphoric creation of music ranges from progressive-acid-punk to heavy psychedelia with catchy chord changes and spaghetti western Ennio Morricone flashes, with epic results. The energy of 'With Magnetic Fields Disrupted,' which was recorded in 1970, is just unbelievable. Twelve strong, intense space music episodes of destruction and rebirth with NO FILLER! Journalist Michael Azerrad described their recordings in his book 'Our Band Could Be Your Life' as "...a valuable document of an amazing band that sounded like Syd Barrett fronting Cream." The album was first released in 1991 by New Alliance Records, but it did not catch much recognition among the '60s collector freaks. Here is the next chance to discover the whole story of one of the "almost forgotten" US underground art-performance groups. Forty minutes long, the album was remastered from the original tapes creating a fresh, organic and punchy sound. The booklet features extended band info and about four dozen artifacts including drawings, set lists, photographs, journal entries and more. Strawberry Window hailed from the San Francisco Bay Area's East Bay music scene in the mid '60s and were truly one of the "early birds" and innovators who made their own distinct brand of rock'n'roll. They played in a heavy-psychedelic-garage style, sounding somewhat reminiscent of the Jefferson Airplane, (early) Mad River, Quicksilver Messenger Service and Frumious Bandersnatch. These previously unreleased recordings have survived for the last four decades in a box on a shelf in a band member's closet. This group from the Detroit area is probably the weirdest experimental psych outfit from 1970. Originally the band was hired by Zig Zag Records to record cover tunes and easy listening, with the intention, "Were just doing whatever we want," the result was an overdosed rock concept album. "to give the music back to the people." Original copies are rare and pretty unknown among psych collectors until now! The 7 songs with an average length of 7 minutes combine different styles of music, from heavy garage rock to bluesy westcoast, drifting into various tripped-out, funk, jazz, fusion elements with humorous/social comments. Structure, feeling and complexity can be compared to experimental krautrock, while the group's basic sound is represented better by end-'60s US hippie rock as Country Joe & the Fish or The Head Shop with its excessive fuzz guitar work, Farfisa organ, amazing vocals by Cleveland's "Bocky" and several additional instruments, sax, harpsichord, cello, percussion, bells. Studio work is pretty tricky, lots of unexpected mixing and experiments, with flashes of UK's legendary White Noise. This CD issue contains a 12 page colour booklet with a band bio, and the cool original album design, made by John Williams who also worked for Zappa - so it can be assumed which influences Zappa used for his 1972 'Grand Wazoo' album?!? Wazoo presents at the highest level of musicianship free and atmospheric rock - a unique kind of musical renaissance! Discover it, it's a unique piece of early '70s psychedelia!
