If one had to put some kind of label on the music contained within this record it would probably contain the words 'Americana' and 'Folk' but that doesn't tell the whole story. There are touches of classic singer/songwriter and psychedelia too. Suffice to say, you need to give it a listen and decide for yourself. Blue Matter are really proud to be able to release this fabulous album, Michael Cullen Murphy certainly has all the necessary credentials to make his mark. Like its predecessor 'After Thunder Sun' reflects Dijkema's eclectic and restless mind. On the one hand it contains one of the deepest solo guitar ragas he has ever recorded ('Vic's Raga') and on the other hand there's his self-proclaimed 'dashboard slapper,' the catchy and suprisingly radiofriendly 'Beautiful Ride.' And there are more twists and turns like the loose/tight folkrocker '(Packin' In For The) Train Of Doomsday' with its noodling Westcoast-style electric guitar ornaments. There's more electric guitar on the driving bluesy folkrocker 'Shards Of Love,' which deals with trying to make a living on your own in this beast called the music industry. The heartbreaker here is 'Buddy.' A song written in the heat of the moment, right after the passing of a dearly loved four legged friend. The album finishes with an ode to the legendary UK singer-songwriter and guitarist Michael Chapman who is/was a great inspiration. Since 'Time Thief' Dijkema has been improving his recording abilities and it shows on 'After Thunder Sun.' It's also his most band orientated album, although it's solely Dijkema playing all the instruments. Creatively, 'After Thunder Sun' expands his musical colors. It keeps one curious in what lies ahead for him. Not at least for the creator himself. What a beautiful ride it is. CROMWORX - CROMWORX The Cromworx debut album is easily one of the best medieval dungeon synth releases ever - varied and captivating, with beautiful melodies and sophisticated compositions that remind the listener of bygone times as well as fantasy settings and role-playing game soundtracks - a must have not only for fans of Fief, Pazuzu or Die Verbannten Kinder Evas. The album contains previously unreleased early keyboard attempts (he really calls them attempts!!) of the Orkrist keyboard player. Out of these compositions some songs were adapted for Crom's primary band Orkrist ('Sword and Sorcery' from the album 'Reginae Mysterium' from 2002, 'The Fall Of Gil-Galad' and 'Grond', from the album 'Grond' from 2003, and 'Where The Knights Sleep, Undying' from the album 'Artefacts Of Life' from 2020). The songs from the original Cromworx set remained untouched for 22 years and were authentically recorded only in 2022, on a keyboard with 1.44" floppy disc mechanism and no professional production in any studio. Apart from minor re-arrangements and a few added vocals the songs remain in their original form. Fans of medieval dungeon synth should not miss this album, as it offers 52 beautiful and magic minutes of some of the best music in this genre! The CD comes as collector's edition in 6-panel digipack, limited to 500 copies.

A best friend of 1960's funky jazzman Jeremy Steig his self published private press albums are much coveted and difficult to obtain and command high prices. This psychedelic jazz masterpiece was recorded in 1975 and features Dave Valentin bassist Lincoln Goines in his studio debut as well as Jim McGilveray who went on to record with Paul Horn and The Cult. The album is reissued with the original cover artwork with the correct track order for the first time. Eric was involved with the counter culture from his time in Morocco in the early 1960's (while serving in the US Army, kind of like a hip Elvis) until shortly after this album was recorded when under his real name, Richard Barth Sanders he was convicted of LSD manufacture (he invented the blotting paper method of LSD distribution so could be entitled to say he was the world's first Acid Jazzer) and sentenced to 7 years in a federal prison. DIJKEMA, JOOST - AFTER THUNDER SUN 'After Thunder Sun' is Joost Dijkema's third solo album and the follow-up to 2019's 'Time Thief.' Like its predecessor 'After Thunder Sun' reflects Dijkema's eclectic and restless mind. On the one hand it contains one of the deepest solo guitar ragas he has ever recorded ('Vic's Raga') and on the other hand there's his self-proclaimed 'dashboard slapper,' the catchy and suprisingly radiofriendly 'Beautiful Ride.' And there are more twists and turns like the loose/tight folkrocker '(Packin' In For The) Train Of Doomsday' with its noodling Westcoast-style electric guitar ornaments. There's more electric guitar on the driving bluesy folkrocker 'Shards Of Love,' which deals with trying to make a living on your own in this beast called the music industry. The heartbreaker here is 'Buddy.' A song written in the heat of the moment, right after the passing of a dearly loved four legged friend. The album finishes with an ode to the legendary UK singer-songwriter and guitarist Michael Chapman who is/was a great inspiration. Since 'Time Thief' Dijkema has been improving his recording abilities and it shows on 'After Thunder Sun.' It's also his most band orientated album, although it's solely Dijkema playing all the instruments. Creatively, 'After Thunder Sun' expands his musical colors. It keeps one curious in what lies ahead for him. Not at least for the creator himself. What a beautiful ride it is.
