The album (a deeply personal statement of womanhood in contemporary times) documents the breadth of a spiritual journey, revelations of love, and the inevitable fragility of life. 'Impermanence' brings to mind the '60s and early '70s alt folk and jazz experimentations of Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone, and Neil Young... and the more contemporary sounds of Tori Amos and Cat Power.
