Justin Adams, whose post-punk approach is infused with a passion for Arab and African trance/blues, and Mauro Durante, a visionary heir to the Taranta roots of his native region
Puglia have recorded this album live in the studio, without overdubs. Together they found what sounded essential in their common sound, reaching for traditions from Italy and America. The tracks interface with the wild pizzica rhythm of southern Italy and trance boogie, from serene instrumental minimalism to hypnotic catharsis. The title track evokes Mediterranean migrations like an exodus with an old frame drum and raw electric guitar that provide a starkly beautiful decor.
