Les Ya Toupas was a band from Zaire formed in 1976. In 1978, they recorded this unclassifiable instrumental album, 'Les Ya Toupas Du Zaire'. The LP is composed of minimalist Afro jazz rhythms and deep funk grooves, all played by musicians who used to offer a more classic rumba style. Shortly after release, the band disappeared from the spotlight.
