'Dial M For Murder' was recorded at Channel One around 1979/1980 with Sly and Robbie as the rhythm section, Rad Brian on guitar, Bobby Kalphat and Ansell Collins on keyboards and piano, Tommy McCook and Herman Marquis on horns. It is a lean but stellar cast of players and one that was used regularly by producer Phil Pratt. In particular Bobby Kalphat who was to feature heavily on many of Pratt's recording sessions and cut some great instrumental sides that are well worth the search.

RODRIGUEZ, RICO -& TOMMY MCCOOK-/BUNNY LEE ALLSTARS - GOING WEST/JOE LEWIS

Tommy McCook and Rico share the plaudits on 'Going West'. It's possible this was recorded in London's Chalk Farm studios with Vic Keary's involvement. The 'Joe Lewis' would certainly have been over-dubbed there. Most likely the nyabinghi-led rhythm track was laid in Jamaica ... read more »

Classic Bunny Lee production that's been unavailable since it was first pressed on the Justice label. Cornell Campbell's rocking version of William DeVaughn's 1974 hit is perfectly suited to his sweet falsetto. Comes with a heavy Tubby's piece on the flipside, in a hand ... read more »
