In the early 1970s the collective known as The California Playboys functioned as the backing group for R&B singer Lester Young (not to be confused with the jazz saxophonist of the same name) on a series of singles. Following those sessions the band recorded its sole album, 'Trying To Become A Millionaire'. Originally issued in 1976, that LP is now back on vinyl.
