The main influences of Brazil's Modulares are late '70s and early '80s post-punk and powerpop, with an additional mid-'60s garage-punk twist. This combination of influences, together with the band's talents to compose new and original gems, help to create a pulsating buzz saw that avoids most of the clichés of today's pop music. The lyrics are in Brazilian-Portuguese and focus on the many sides of big city life.
