BOLTON IRON MAIDEN - MAIDEN FLIGHT
Active between 1970 and 1976, The Bolton Iron Maiden (originally known as Birth and then Iron Maiden) was a psychedelic hard-rock band formed in Bolton by Ian Boulton-Smith (Beak) on lead guitar, Derek George Austin on bass and Paul TJ O'Neill on drums/vocals. Influenced by contemporaries like Led Zeppelin, Cream, Free, Groundhogs or Andromeda, their music blended blues, hard rock, and progressive elements. They soon built a strong reputation supporting acts such as UFO, Bedlam (with Cozy Powell), Caravan, Thin Lizzy... In 1976, the band disbanded following the death of guitarist Ian Boulton-Smith from cancer. In 2005, Paul O'Neill revived interest in BIM by releasing two albums, 'Maiden Flight' and 'Boulton Rides Again,' which compiled studio and live recordings. The proceeds from these albums were donated to Cancer Research and Macmillan Cancer Support. With the blessing of the more famous Iron Maiden and their manager Rod Smallwood, the band adopted the name The Bolton Iron Maiden to avoid confusion. For the first time on vinyl, 'Maiden Flight' collects their previously unreleased studio recordings from 1972 plus raw as f*ck live tracks circa 1975. Retrospective of British mod/freakbeat/pop-art heroes The Eyes including all their cult classic 45s ('When The Night Falls,' 'I'm Rowed Out,' 'My Degeneration'...) plus cool rare tracks sourced from demos and acetates. Formed in London in 1964, The Eyes took the early feedback experiments and pop art image of bands like the Who one step further. The band wore dyed parkas in various pastel colours and brightly coloured rugby shirts with huge eye symbols on the chest. Their raw, energetic sound and distinctive style combined aggressive, fuzz-driven guitar riffs with catchy melodies and a youthful defiance that captured the energy of the London mod scene. Their music bridged rawness freakbeat with the emerging psychedelic sound that would dominate the latter half of the decade. Tracks like the feedback-laden 'When The Night Falls' or the fuzzed-out 'You're Too Much' sounded years ahead of its time and they would influence the mod, garage revival and indie/shoegaze scene of the following decades. The Eyes only released a handful of singles between 1965 and 1966. They disbanded in 1967 and unfortunately they never released a full album during their short lifespan. Here it is! Remastered sound. Psychedelic hard-rock Holy Grail, originally released by this Greek band in 1976 but sounding more akin to late '60s/early '70s. Highly recommended to fans of HEAVY-FUZZ guitars, think Dark, Fire, Open Mind or even Spacemen 3 circa 'Revolution'!
The 4 Levels Of Existence formed around 1974 in Athens from the ashes of a band called Frog's Eyes. Some of their influences were groups like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Who or Iron Butterfly as well as traditional Greek music. They recorded their sole album in just 10 hours with no overdubs and it was eventually released (500 copies only) on the small Venus label. The cover artwork was created by guitar player Athanasios Alatas. The band sadly split soon after but they left behind one of the most legendary and sought after albums not only from Greece but also from the worldwide heavy-prog scene. Remastered sound. Original artwork in hard cardboard sleeve + obi. Insert with liner notes by Klemen Breznikar (It's Psychedelic Baby) and rare photos/memorabilia. IT'S ALL MEAT - IT'S ALL MEAT
Official reissue of this sought-after Canadian psychedelic hard-rock album from 1970. Formed in Toronto in the late '60s, It's All Meat (the name was taken from a dog food commercial!) soon caught the attention of influential character Jack London (frontman of pre-Steppenwolf band Jack London and the Sparrows) who managed the band and secured a deal with major label Columbia Records. After recording their first 45, the proto-punk MC5/Stones sounding 'Feel It,' the band started working on their first album with the tandem of Jed MacKay and Rick McKim as main songwriters. 'It's All Meat' was released in 1970 and offered a powerful mix of garage-rock, psychedelia and early hard-rock, drawing influences from bands like the Stones, Country Joe & The Fish, Doors, Velvet Underground... tracks like 'Roll My Own' or the lysergic 'Crying Into The Deep Lake' are now considered classics of the genre. Sadly, the band would split soon after the LP was released. Original artwork in gatefold sleeve. Remastered sound in 24-bit domain. A compilation of Okeh 7"s. Ted Taylor was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, but in the early 1950s he moved to California, where he became a member of several gospel vocal groups. He became the tenor singer of the Soul Seekers from Santa Monica, who secured a couple of record contracts and ended up recording as The Cadets on the Modern label and as The Jacks on the subsidiary label RPM. Taylor sang lead vocals in their performances until he left the group before they recorded their biggest hit, Stranded In The Jungle, to pursue a solo career. He released records on various different labels until he arrived at Duke Records, where he recorded his first classic tracks. His vocal style was influenced by Little Willie John, Clyde McPhatter, and Jackie Wilson. Despite having only one national hit, Taylor's recordings have become highly appreciated. By the mid-'60s, MC5 used his arrangement of '(Love Is Like) A Ramblin' Rose' as the basis for their version. MC5's cover opens the band's debut album 'Kick Out The Jams,' sung in falsetto by Wayne Kramer, which delivers Taylor's incredible tenor voice. Comes with obi.

Despite the beauty of the album's first three tracks, it is on the closer, the 21-and-a-half-minute 'Saxophone Concerto,' where Kirk most leaves his mark as a composer and innovator on the jazz world.

The group also attracted the interest of the international tobacco company Philip Morris, which began to sponsor the quartet's tours and clubs. One of these events took place at Pori Jazz in July 1977, where the band's venue was named after Belmont, a brand of cigarettes manufactured by the company.

Chet Baker's work is legendary and the arrival of this previously unreleased live set, recorded at Palermo's Brass Club in 1976, is a real delight for his fans. Here Baker's marvellous trumpet revelry is matched by the rest of his dynamite quartet, this time featuring the esteemed composer and vibraphonist Enzo Randisi on piano (his only collaboration with Baker), Vito Tommaso's brother Giovanni making full use of the fretboard on melodic stand-up bass, and Gianni Cavallaro taking an unusual approach with the drums. Their keen musicianship helps spur Baker to squeeze the best from his horn, and there's a rare take of the ballad 'I Can't Get Started' too, making this a must-have for all serious Chet devotees.

Quincy Delight Jones Jr., born 3 March 14, 1933, is an American record producer, musician, songwriter, composer, arranger, and film and television producer. His career spans 70 years in the entertainment industry with a record of 80 Grammy Award nominations, 28 Grammys, and a Grammy Legend Award in 1992. In the 1950s Jones came to prominence as an arranger and conductor, and soon became a big name in pop music and film scores. 1962's 'Big Band Bossa Nova' has become one of the most sought after of his early LPs, mainly due to it's opening track 'Soul Bossa Nova,' which has been widely featured in film and advertising, most notably the opening credits scene in 1997's 'Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery.' Originally released by Mercury Records. Comes with obi.

Repress! Don Cherry's 'Relativity Suite,' recorded with the Jazz Composers Orchestra in 1973. At this time, Cherry was becoming increasingly interested in Middle Eastern and traditional African and Indian music, having traveled extensively and studied with Indian musician Vasant Rai. This suite of songs was particularly influenced by the Indian karnatic singing tradition, as can be heard from the very opening moments of the album. Featuring Carla Bley on piano, Charlie Haden on bass, and Ed Blackwell on drums, as well as an extended horn and string section, Cherry collaborated extensively with the Jazz Composers Orchestra throughout the early seventies. His Swedish wife, Moki Cherry, plays tambura on 'Trans-Love Airways.'

Repress of 100 copies on clear milky white vinyl. Junipher Greene was a Norwegian progressive rock band, who were formed in Oslo in 1967. When they released their historic debut album 'Friendship' (called a "milestone" in European progressive rock") in 1971 they became the first Norwegian band ever to release a double LP. These 18 tracks, characterized by their incisive guitar solos, prominent flute and excellent songwriting, are progressive rock at its very best. One of the
genre's true masterworks. It stands as one of Norway's earliest progressive albums. Stylistically it is heavy progressive rock, blending the tension of King Crimson, the organ and guitar
sounds of Deep Purple and Uriah Heep, and the dynamics of early Jethro Tull. The dark, memorable and usually very intensive music was superbly played and driven by a flute, mellotron and Hammond organ passages, some heavy guitars, complex drumming and fine vocals. Nowadays the original Sonet vinyl is a world-class rarity and in (rarely seen) top condition is worth
about 1000 euro. It should be noted that the record cover was painted by the (now) very famous Odd Nerdrum. Comes in deluxe thick past on cover.

Evolving from London Mod act The Action, Mighty Baby signed to Parlophone on the reputation of their live sets, featuring guitarist Alan King, bassist Mike Evans and drummer Roger Powell, with former Savoy Brown guitarist Martin Stone and keyboardist/sax player Ian Whiteman joining after. Their 1969 debut moved into heavy psych and sophomore set 'A Jug Of Love' (1971) took semi-acoustic form, blending bluesy folk and a touch of North African spice into their psychedelic prog, the style reminiscent of the Grateful Dead, but very much their own. An unsung masterpiece, feted by Julian Cope, and here with lyrics insert.

Hard-rocking Brooklyn trio Sir Lord Baltimore's highly sought-after debut album is a legendary precursor of the heavy metal genre, a 1971 Creem review of the disc perhaps the first to ever use the term. The group benefited from the songwriting and production team of Mike Appel and Jim Cretecos, Appel, the future manager of Bruce Springsteen and Cretecos already heady
from success with The Partridge Family; recorded at Vantone Studios in New Jersey, it was mixed to fine effect by Eddie Kramer at Electric Ladyland, fresh from his work with Jimi Hendrix. Guitarist Louis Dambra co-arranged the material with Appel and Cretecos; he had earlier played in garage band The Koala as Louis Caine, and here his screeching guitar is a major draw, backed by plodding bass from Gary Justin, as front man John Garner shrieks his vocals while pounding furious drumbeats. Aside from a tough cover of Ray Charles' 'I Got A Woman' and a track inspired by Yeats' poem 'Lake Isle Of Innersfree,' the album features heavily-stoned acid rock originals, delivered the Sir Lord Baltimore way.

First released in 2000, this album now comes remastered and with new cover artwork. Dernière Volonté is an artist that has been evolving over the years, starting from 1998 with the thematic limited cassette release 'Obeir Et Mourir' which was an historical snapshot of a particular place in time.
However, in the millennium the level of standards were raised with their album 'Le Feu Sacré', which brought us a beating, martial rhythms and gloomy keyboard patterns, combined with orchestral samples, and of course Geoffrey D.'s characteristic voice and French vocals. The environment that formed without relying on the tricks of the trade is what really piqued interest. The beauty of this particular release lay in its simplicity and originality. Very outstanding that time and 21 years later still a masterpiece. Limited to 250 copies on mint green vinyl.

Bone with white and black splatter vinyl including lyric sheet and photo card. Speed metal evolved out of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement. There is not a shadow of a doubt about that. So if the question comes to the first speed metal song in history, there could only be two contenders. Either it's Raven's furious 'Faster Than The Speed Of Light' from their second landmark album 'Wiped Out' (issued in 1982 on Neat Records) or it's 'Axe Crazy' by Bristol's most famous sons Jaguar (released as a 7" single also by Neat Records the same year). Jaguar released their first single 'Back Street Woman' in 1981 via Heavy Metal Records. But before that they had already recorded a highly praised demo cassette.

KEVIN - AFTERMATH (GREEN)
The wonderfully named Kevin, are a three-piece band formed in Osaka, Japan in 2017. The line up at the time of recording/releasing this debut album 'Aftermath' consists of Hayato Izawa (vocal), Yutaro Umemoto (guitar) and Yuichi Umemoto (drums). The band has been influenced by psychedelic rock, krautrock, folk music and free jazz. But Kevin are less full on psych-rock than some of their Japanese contemporaries (and new label mates) like Acid Mothers Temple, Mainliner and Hibushibire. The strong krautrock influence is more prominent in their unique sound. Taking influence from the likes of Can and This Heat. Their sound was initially based on noise music. Nowadays, they are minimizing their equipment and developing their own music with a groovy, delicate and devastating band sound. Limited to 300 copies on transparant green vinyl.

Excellent compilation LP with works by LA avant-garde composer John Lafia. Gatefold edition of 400 copies. Active in Los Angeles' 1980-1986 underground music scene, John Lafia is best known for the hypnotic album 'Prayers', released through Barry Craig's influential, cassette-only label Trance Port Tapes. 'Life Is Short', 'A Promise', 'Dream', 'Hidden Things', 'Spaghetti Western', and 'Escape' come from that release. This compilation also features tracks from subsequent Trance Port releases: 'Queen Of The Nile' from 'LA Mantra II' and 'The Moth' form 'Phantom Takes'. John's 'Odyssey Girls' appeared on the seminal 1983 spoken word LP 'English As A Second Language'. 'The Confession,' a collaboration with legendary producer Ethan James, was released on 1986's LP 'Voices From North America'. While recording this music, Hollywood-based John also dreamt of making his own films.
