The music represents the golden psychedelic folk era of Dostlar formed of Galip Kayihan (guitar and synthesizer), Mithat Danisan (Panço) (bass), Ayzer Danga (drums) and Cudi Koyuncu (2 decked electric saz and other Turkish instruments). Some other companies reissued it, but on this reissue, you will hear the high fidelity sound from the original master tapes remastered with the glamourous efforts of Hamit Akbay and Cüneyt Yalçin Naçar. Says Astrodome: "For this album, unlike the previous two, which were practically live recorded, we decided we wanted to have total control over the recording, arranging, and mixing process. We embraced the infinite possibilities and freedom that a computer provides, allowing the process of editing to behave more like an instrument rather than just a recording environment. This approach not only gave us the outcome we were looking for but also allowed us to experiment with new techniques and sounds that were previously out of reach, adding a fresh dimension to our music. However, this method was also very demanding and time-consuming. Paradoxically, the lack of restraints that we desired ended up becoming a difficulty we had to overcome, pushing us to grow both creatively and technically. Ultimately, this journey resulted in an album that we feel represents a significant evolution in our sound. The sea was the "theme" that we wanted to explore this time, we tried to find new textures and harmonies that could somehow transport the listener to that environment without being too obvious. In our opinion, this album is a whole piece and should be listened that way. A crucial part of the process was, once again, trying to create something without any musical or style restraints but always trying to find a mutual ground between us, inspired by different things, leading us to a unique mix of different styles." The Awesome Machine was another such band, and one of the better late-period Kyuss soundalikes to be heard in some time. A lot of stoner bands seem to stick to the tried and true, and in that respect The Awesome Machine was no different, but they were excellent at what they did. Includes outtakes, rare tracks, demos and one live track. Recorded between 1998-2005.

BARBICAN ESTATE - BARBICAN CITY OF TOKYO
A fabulous mini LP from London based, Japanese psych band Barbican Estate. Four beguiling tracks of atmospheric, occasionally acid folk flavoured, melodic freakout shifts, taking in tips of the hat to Popol Vuh (check Miri's beautiful vox on 'Angel'), Amon Düül and fellow countrymen Acid Mothers Temple and Kikagaku Moyo amongst others. Formed in 2019, this three-piece consists of Kazuki Toneri (guitar, sitar), Miri (bass, flute, vocals), and Koh Hamada (drums, percussion). Each member is well-versed in music, film, and various other arts, drawing inspiration not only from experimental, psychedelic rock, and noise music but also from art across the world, both past and present. Their music weaves solid, architectural elements with destruction into a dark and gloomy soundscape, is often described as "dark psychedelic." They released their first album, 'Way Down East,' in 2021. In 2022, they relocated to London, where they performed on UK tours and at festivals. Having already played nearly 50 live shows, they are gaining attention in the local scene. Their EP 'Viscum' was released in June 2024. 'Barbican City Of Tokyo' is a compilation of tunes previously consigned to digital release only that label head Dom had free rein to assemble an EP from, which luckily the band wholeheartedly agreed upon! ...and all four tracks appear on vinyl here for the first time. This release hopefully cements a growing interest in the band's fabulous music, and early reviews of both the LP here and their live shows are overwhelmingly positive. Limited to 100 copies, so be fast!

DR. STRANGELY STRANGE - RADIO SESSIONS
Irish psychedelic folkies Dr. Strangely Strange were active from 1968-1971. Their two Joe Boyd-produced albums from that era, 'Kip Of The Serenes' (Island) and 'Heavy Petting' (Vertigo), are both highly sought after by collectors. In their heyday, the band recorded only two BBC radio sessions, a 'Top Gear' slot and an 'In Concert,' both with John Peel. Frustratingly, the BBC's tapes were wiped, but after extensive research with European collectors, TLAK has been able to locate off-air recordings of both sessions, which have been painstakingly restored. Added to these are brief radio sessions for Dutch and Danish radio sourced from the original recordings, as well as a Dublin rehearsal take of 'Sign On My Mind' featuring Gary Moore, a friend of the band and guest on 'Heavy Petting.' Limited gatefold vinyl pressing with 4-page illustrated booklet featuring previously unpublished photos compiled by Strangelies biographer Adrian Whittaker.

Repress! Can you pick up a better iconic band than the Japanese Flower Travellin' Band? Have a look at Julian Cope's 'Japrocksampler' cover with the band bare naked wildly ridin' on their wheels. Is any description more appropriate? A sense of freedom has always enhanced their music, a heavy rock manifesto clearly informed by British stalwarts. Their second album 'Satori' has been released on Atlantic Japan in 1971 and still is a masterpiece on its own. The band was made up of Joe Yamanaka (vocals) - possibly an eastern version of Rob Tyner (MC5) - Hideki Ishima (guitars), Jun Kobayashi (bass) and George Wada (drums). By the end of 1970, they had relocated to Toronto, Canada and lived there until March of 1972. In April 1973, the band split up, but they reunited in January 2008 with all original members joined by Nobuhiko.

Repress! "The recordings Contained herein are contained here after many years on the shelf..." So begin Michael Hurley's notes to these unbelievably great recordings from 1964, recorded by Fred Ramsey as part of the same sessions that resulted in Michael's 'First Songs' LP on Folkways. Side A starts with 'What'llya Do, What'llya Say?,' a pretty psychedelic classic that can very well put you into some kinda trance. After that we hear 'The Blues Had Gone Away' - a sad drifty little tune, then 'Pretty Girl On Rollerskates,' with a rare Hurley harmonica solo and hallucinatory lyrics worthy of some examination, and then a beautiful alternate take on one of Michael's all time greats - 'The Tea Song.' Side B starts up with yet more alternate takes of songs from the Folkways LP - this time of 'Intersoular Blues' and 'I Like My Wine.' After that we get to hear two great compositions for the first time, and man oh man are they pretty - 'Hey Hey Hey Hey' and 'I Love You Babe.' Real great stuff all around that we recommend for deep into it Hurley fans and newcomers to his art alike. Michael Hurley is a great American songwriter with his own unique way of seeing the world. This LP is a great testament to his vision. Housed in an old school paste over sleeve and comes with a liner notes booklet written by Michael.

MISSUS BEASTLY - MISSUS BEASTLY
Missus Beastly from Herford were among the most famous German psychedelic and jazz-rock bands, with the most confusing history of all of them. Their first LP released on CPM in 1970 - without any title, just like the second LP in 1974 - had a beautiful red cover artwork and is traded today at around 1000 euros. A certain Henry C. From(m), pretending to be the band's manager, flutist and drummer, arranged for a re-issue, which was released under the title of "Nara asst incense" (OPP 5-32) with the same tracks in a different order and with a totally new cover artwork. When no legal action was taken against him, this man had the cheek to embark on further fraudulent ventures by recording another two LPs and releasing them under the stolen name of Missus Beastly. On top of that, a bootleg CD of "Nara asst incense" was released by Germanofon. The vinyl edition on Garden of Delights comes in the original red gatefold cover and with four-page insert in LP size.

N.T. - ATOMIC SYSTEM
The album 'Ut,' with a heavier sound, closer to hard rock caused the split of the New Trolls with the two leaders Di Palo and De Scalzi going in two different ways. A legal struggle followed, for the use of the famous name, and while Di Palo with the other three chose the Ibis way, in a hard rock direction, Vittorio De Scalzi formed a new band, called N.T. to avoid contractual problems, and with a more polished sound. To help their fans to recognize this band as the real New Trolls, early copies of the album had a sticker on the sleeve covering the N.T. name with the full New Trolls brand. N.T. released their first album 'Atomic System' in 1973, a nice album with a large use of horn instruments, De Scalzi himself playing flute and keyboards along with guitar. Limited edition 180 gram black vinyl.

Sweden's Snowy Dunes, Niklas Eisen (lead vocals, percussion, acoustic guitar), Christoffer Kingstedt (electric guitars, guitorchestration), Carl Oredson (bass, keyboards, mellotron) and Jonathan Wårdsäter (drums, percussion) do not exactly work from the same blueprint that those bands used to propel their careers into the stratosphere, Snowy Dunes' grooves are a little bit too gnarly and gritty, but they do bring to underground rock many of those same attributes of songcraft, melody and soulful gravitas that saw those other bands become staples of worldwide rock radio stations, attributes that can be found scattered quite liberally throughout the five songs that make up the band's third album 'Sastrugi.'

Blind Owl Wilson was a truly great guitarist and vocalist whose deep well of psychedelic blues songs were buried amongst the catalog of major label rockin' blues band Canned Heat. Blind Owl served as Canned Heat's guitarist and would chip in a song here and there as a front man. A couple of those songs became huge hits in the '60s - 'Going Up The Country' and 'On The Road Again'. Alberto Baldan Bembo (1938-2017), also known as "Ali" Ben Djamballa, Bedan, Blue Marvin or Shorty Baldan, was a multi-instrumentalist (vibraphonist, organist and pianist). Since 1959 he has been part of the group I Menestrelli del Jazz and in 1963 he joined Bruno De Filippi's group. Appreciated as a sideman, he was for several years pianist and organist in the group that accompanied the Italian singer Mina. He has also spent much of his career as a composer of film soundtracks and published several albums through the SAAR label, among which the soundtrack of 'Codice D'Amore Orientale,' released by SAAR/Joker in 1974. 'The Soul Of "Ali" Ben Djamballa' (1974) is a highly sought after LP by record collectors around the world. Following the creation of the Afro-flavored funk of this period, represented by Fela Kuti (Nigeria) and Osibisa (Ghana), the album features European Library Music grooves, including 'Blue Jeans,' 'Black Coffee,' 'Take Six' and 'Niger.' The record contains a number of solid breaks, noteworthy sampling material and a good dose of rare and funky grooves.

Originally released in 1977, 'Psyco Analysis' remains today one of the most obscure and mysterious titles inside the vast catalogue of Edizioni Leonardi, from the points of view both of its musical content and of its realization.
Musically, in fact, we are facing a collection of short dark-tinged and gloomy compositions for piano and synthesizers, characterized by a slow and unrelenting pace, a perfect soundtrack for a thriller/noir or a '50s/'60s sci-fi horror movie, with the exception of the closing piece 'Seagull,' a more bright and relaxed song that almost seems to 'liberate' the listener from the shady sounds of the previous tracks, accompanying him on the shore of a tropical beach. The soundtrack is here entrusted to the well-known pianist, arranger and composer Giorgio Gaslini (1929-2014);
among the most important Italian jazz musicians of all time, he's been quite prolific during his whole career, also in the vast field of soundtracks. In this case, he creates a memorable theme with a handful of notes and enriches it with typical '70s orchestral pop arrangements, adding an elegant touch with easy-listening jazz and lounge atmospheres. Overall, 'Rivelazioni...' is a multi-genre music work in which mellow and romantic sounds coexist with more obscure and abstract ones, made with only string instruments and percussion.
Originally released in 1972, this soundtrack is now reissued on LP for the first time in over 50 years, in a yellow-coloured edition with audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano and five bonus tracks here released on vinyl for the first time ever!

'Metti, Una Sera A Cena' is a 1969 movie directed by Joseph Patrons Griffi, made up from an eponymous theater script and especially transposed to the film medium. It immediately obtained consents and success, and paved the road to success for actors Florinda Bolkan and Tony Musante in particular. So did the music written by Ennio Morricone, who in 1970 won the Nastro D'Argento Award for Best Score. Lounge sounds, bossa nova, jazz (especially the drums touch) and beat (usually still in vogue in the Italy of the late '60s), seasoned with orchestral arrangements conducted by Bruno Nicolai, merge here to one of the most famous soundtracks of the Italian Maestro. A perfect mix of eroticism and melancholy, for a real classic!
This edition offers the original soundtrack released in 1969 on Cinevox Record in a new artwork, a gatefold cover and yellow vinyl. 'L'Arcangelo' ('The Archangel') is a 1969 comedy characterised by police and judiciary tones, directed by Giorgio Capitani and starring, among others, Vittorio Gassman, Pamela Tiffin, Adolfo Celi, Irina Demick and Carlo Delle Piane. This soundtrack follows the previous 'La Notte E Fatta Per... Rubare' ('The Night Is Made For Stealing') which marked the beginning of Umiliani's collaboration with the director. Mainly displaying a Latin American flavour, it contains several elements typical of the composer's style, mixing bossa nova and samba with beat rhythms and Hammond organ, and is enriched by various vocal contributions from Alessandro Alessandroni's Cantori Moderni and the delightful scat singing of Giulia De Mutiis, one of the choir's female voices. Distorted electric guitars with orchestral ensemble also create an atmosphere between spy and detective story. None of 'The Archangel' tracks have ever been released in any form for many years, and to date there are only three CD editions only issued in Japan. This clear yellow vinyl version therefore fills a void and finally returns these wonderful compositions to us in the format that suits them best! Remember that period at the turn of the century when people were talking about lounge, exotica and easy listening? It was the so-called Cocktail Generation phenomenon, of which VIP 200, a quartet formed in Italy in 1999, was the ultimate expression as a band. The most important input came from the reissues and compilations of Italian soundtracks that debuted with great success at the time, and VIP 200's interpretations of them were genuine, rustic and rich in atmospheres that led back precisely to music for the image. Even cinema, like Quentin Tarantino, has been fascinated and inspired by that sound by quoting it several times. The comparison and real meeting of VIP 200 with the Marc 4 as well as Alessandro Alessandroni and the legendary Piero Umiliani was fundamental. Soon after, they were also called from abroad by cult figures who wanted to interact with them such as German composer Peter Thomas with whom they recorded in Saint Tropez, DJ Maxwell Implosion and sessions in Capri with Miss Maki Nomiya of the Pizzicato Five for her solo record. It was a period of transition, the word "easy" that started from the Adriatic Riviera via Rome and Milan had made its way to Berlin, London and Tokyo. Their live shows, as well as their first and only record, now re-released for the first time on double gatefold vinyl by Cinedelic with many outtakes, alternated between danceable moments with fast rhythms such as shake, beat and soul funk, to more ethereal and psychedelic, to softer and more ironic ones. They loosely and spontaneously re-presented songs that before then no one had ever performed live with a band; 10 years later Calibro 35 would get there.
All strictly from Italian composers or their own. Strong was the "fetishist" component that pushed them to research original instruments of the vintage, design, sound and atmosphere to be created. BRA SELLO - THE BATTLE OF DISCO
With one foot planted in jazz and the other in the township groove of Mbaqanga, saxophonist Sello Mmutung was a powerful crossover figure in the history of popular music in South Africa. Using the stage name Bra Sello, meaning "brother" and used as a term of affection and respect in the jazz community, he came up in the era of shellac 78s as an exponent of the 1960s sax jive sound that brought the swinging rhythm of kwela into the domain of South African jazz. Despite the injection of American rhythm and blues into South African pop in the late-1960s, Bra Sello's first releases on vinyl on the CBS label saw him backed by the group Abafana Bentuthuko and holding down an unapologetic township sound. Joining the independent Soweto label under producer Cambridge Matiwane in the mid-1970s, Bra Sello recorded two records in the hit-making bump jive style popularised by serious jazz musician Dollar Brand on the one hand and prolific studio group the Movers, operating in funk and soul territory, on the other. Blending modern American and traditional African elements into joyful hip-swinging rhythms, 'Butterfly' (1975) and The Battle Of Disco (1977) reflect the vivacity of urban life in South Africa and document an era when dance music was performed by bands as extended jams laced with jaw-dropping solos. With music trends shifting dramatically in the late-1970s, the title of 'The Battle Of Disco' was an ironic call to arms in response to the territory that group musicians were beginning to cede to synthesisers and DJs. For enthusiasts of African music from the 1970s, a full appreciation of the continent's output is incomplete without South Africa's pop-jazz sound providing a regional counterpoint to the funk experimentation of West Africa. Reissued for the very first time, Bra Sello returns in 2023 with limited replica editions from Afrodelic using master tape sources from the As-Shams/The Sun collection.

When the U.S. State Department announced in the mid-1970s that they were sponsoring a South African tour for the Oklahoma-born, Paris-based saxophonist Hal Singer, producer Rashid Vally took note. Even though his nascent record label As-Shams/The Sun (established in 1974) was making waves on the local scene, the idea of commissioning a recording from an international artist was a ballsy idea. With a discography that stretched back to the 1950s, Hal Singer was already somewhat of a legacy artist by 1976. Vally was well-versed on Singer's accomplishments and specifically enamoured by his composition 'Blue Stompin',' which appeared on a Prestige album from 1959 that had struck a chord in South Africa. With his irresistible charm, Vally managed to coax Singer into a studio in Johannesburg, South Africa, to record a new version of 'Blue Stompin'' with South African sax star Kippie Moeketsi, which became the title track of a 1977 album by Moeketsi. The recording session also yielded an album's worth of new material by Hal Singer and his quartet that took its name from a track inspired by Singer's trip to South Africa entitled 'Soweto To Harlem.' Released in 1976 and only available in South Africa, 'Soweto To Harlem' captures a laid-back, cheeky and nostalgic rhythm and blues set from the Hal Singer Quartet that is unlikely to have emerged for a different target market.
Cinedelic's 2024 edition of this rare album is sourced from the original tape masters and presents it on vinyl internationally for the very first time. The reissue follows Singer's passing at the age of 100 in August 2020 as we contemplate and celebrate his extraordinary contribution to jazz in the United States and beyond.

Ndikho Xaba left South Africa in 1964, an exile from his homeland who eventually found his place in San Francisco's vibrant spiritual jazz scene of the late '60s. A songwriter, bandleader, pianist, and inventor of percussion and woodwind instruments, Xaba played alongside contemporaries like Pharoah Sanders, Alice Coltrane, and Sun Ra. But it was on the single album he recorded in the US, self-released in an edition of 100 copies in 1971, that Xaba realized his unique vision. Backed by a band that included Plunky Branch and Lon Moshe (Oneness of Juju and Black Fire label), Xaba bridged the Black Atlantic, connecting the music of Africa with the most brilliant lights of the Diaspora, and drawing a line between the Black Power movement of the US and the struggle against apartheid in South Africa. Across five songs, Xaba and the band move through spiritual invocations, wrenching soul, and dizzying layers of rhythm knocked out on homemade instruments. The album is a critical political and historical document, and one of our favorite spiritual jazz albums of all time. Licensed from Nomusa Xaba, Ndikho's partner, a poet, storyteller, album-cover artist, and namesake of the stunning track immortalizing her name. This is a reissue of the remastered 2015 release by Matsuli Music, pressed on 160gm vinyl, including booklet with rare photographs and concert bills, personal recollections from Plunky Branch, and extensive liner notes by Francis Golding and the great Thulani Davis, who was a part of Xaba's musical community.

"In times when every aspect of life seems to be a 'product', it's difficult to imagine that for centuries music was made for a different reason. That music was a way for people to express themselves and their feelings about the world they lived in: their joys, their desires, their anger and pain, without an ulterior motive. The musician and the author, the painter and the actor were the jesters and critics of their times, holding up a mirror to society. Or they simply added to the fun and the party atmosphere. But never on command, even though they were paid for their service. They held on to their freedom. For artists, freedom is the highest goal. Much has changed since the industrial revolution and capitalism turned society upside down in the twentieth century. So-called 'popular music' no longer was spontaneous folk, jazz or classical tunes that just happened to become popular with the people, but became music created by the entertainment industry on the basis of templates for sentimentality and amusement. Still, genuine folk music never completely disappeared. Real spontaneity always perseveres. Not only among the musicians but also among their audiences. And although many theatres and stages became part of the big commercial entertainment network, there will always be places where different music can be heard. Music made by free spirits, for free spirits. It happens worldwide and in an extensive network. In an interview, Zea and The Ex singer Arnold de Boer once described it as an international cultural subway system with stations all around. OCCII in Amsterdam is one of these stations, already for more than 25 years. It's a free port for all kinds of music that don't fit the commercial entertainment template. And it will be clear that they won't be mainstream pop. It's folk and grass roots music from around the world. It's jazz and improvised music, rooted in freedom. It's punk, based on anger and spontaneity. And that is precisely the music presented on this LP, recorded at OCCII and other cultural oases in Amsterdam. Like freedom, music doesn't have constraints. The record opens with Zea and Afework Nigussie, a Dutchman and an Ethiopian, singing a topical American folk blues song from the early twentieth century. Then Les Filles de Illighadad from Niger and Ghanese kologo champion King Ayisoba take over, simply to prove that music is a language that is understood around the world. Improvisation-based rock band Kurws from Poland presents a piece from their album 'Alarm', anticipating the B side of the LP, which opens with a fifteen-minute explosion of energy and creativity by Cinema Soloriens. Filmmaker and musician James Harrar and Marshall Allen -the cosmic Sun Ra's musical right hand for almost half a century- with the help of a few more like-minded souls aim straight for the stars in 'The Man Who Married The Moon'.
The record ends on some drops of healthy, undiluted punk. Rhode Island's Dropdead and Dutch veterans Lärm with former Rondos frontman Johannes 'Red Rat' van de Weert as a guest singer. 'Every day is a new start' says Rooie Waas' Gijs Borstlap. It's something to remember. Like Dropdead singer Bob Otis' words on this LP: 'If one voice can change the future, then what can a hundred voices do? Or a thousand?' In other words: Do it yourself, all together." ~Peter Bruyn

The compilation, drawn from Conte's pioneering and remarkable personal collection of 78rpm discs recorded in the 1920's-1950's, presents fiddle music recorded across the world from Crete to Madagascar, Mexico, England, Sicily, Norway, India, the USA, Cape Verde, China and more. The album comes in a beautiful gatefold package. It includes a liner notes booklet by curator Pat Conte, original drawings of rare and unique fiddles in Conte's collection, by artist Jeff Tocci, and beautifully remastered audio by Don Fierro. Curated by 78rpm record collector Pat Conte, 'The Secret Museum Of Mankind - Guitars Vol. 1: Prologue To Modern Styles,' is the first new volume in the legendary series since 1998. It is also the first volume of the 'Secret Museum' to focus on a specific instrument, the guitar. This volume seeks to show the diverse range of guitar sounds and styles developed and practiced across the globe. It presents guitar and guitar related music, recorded across the world from Spain, to Papua New Guinea, Greece to Ghana to India and more. The collection is drawn from Conte's pioneering and remarkable personal collection of 78rpm discs, recorded in the 1920's-1950's. The album comes in a beautiful gatefold package. It includes a liner notes booklet by curator Pat Conte, original drawings of rare and unique guitars in Conte's collection by artist Jeff Tocci, and beautifully remastered audio by Don Fierro. Additionally, the interior gatefold design features a selection of historic images of guitarists, also curated by Conte and drawn from his collection.
