Skyjoggers, the innovative band from Tampere, Finland, fuses the exhilarating elements of space rock and psychedelic soundscapes. Their music captures the essence of cosmic exploration, characterized by hypnotic riffs and an experimental approach that pushes boundaries. With a focus on dynamic performances and rich instrumental textures, Skyjoggers invites listeners on a journey through uncharted musical territories. On '12021 : Post-Electric Apocalypse' Skyjoggers focus on themes such as death, loss and despair. Writing of the album took place during the pandemic, forest fires in the Amazon and wars around the planet - the band took inspiration from such themes trying to channel the hard topics into something beautiful shining a ray of hope and light into the world through music. The album showcases the heaviest side of Skyjoggers heard to this day, bringing elements of black and doom metal into the band's unique mix of modern space rock.

TAYLOR, JAMES -QUARTET- - ONLY MESSIN' EP
James Taylor has been writing/recording albums and touring for the past 43 years, starting with The Prisoners and then The James Taylor Quartet (JTQ) from 1986 onwards, to great acclaim.
In that time he has done several world tours and gained UK Top 40 Chart hits, notably with the late great soul singer Noel McKoy. He has also written and recorded a whole plethora of albums, often coming from a broad musical perspective. Ranging from funk to jazz to soul to rock and even choral projects, of late incorporating a full orchestra into many recordings and even transferring this onto the stage successfully at The Barbican, The Alexandra Palace and The Cadogan Hall, amongst other classical venues. Taylor was the pioneering force that spear-headed the Acid Jazz movement in the '90s, which saw a renaissance in live music. He has also virtually single-handedly driven the rediscovery of the Hammond organ, his trademark keyboard. He has developed his composition and arrangement skills and with these has recorded over 20 library albums. The current live line-up for The James Taylor Quartet is James Taylor (keyboards and orchestration), Mark Cox (guitar), Andrew McKinney (bass) and Pat Illingworth (drums), although recordings and live performances may include others. The band have developed a strong reputation as a live band, that remains to this day. The most recent of the library albums include the four tracks on this very EP, which feature Taylor's innovative horn arrangement skills, placing JB style horns over a funk groove, but in this case he had the novel idea of incorporating two guitars; one funky, one rocky. Sort of James Brown meets The Rolling Stones, and the result can be heard on this slab of vinyl. Limited to 300 copies.

KREIVISKAI - MOTINAI
Kreiviskai is one of the brightest and most distinctive representatives of the Russian neofolk scene. The project has always impressed with the quality of its execution, the depth of its vision, and the meticulous crafting of both its musical and conceptual aspects. This is their third full-length album.
'Motinai' is the result of nearly five years of creative exploration, composed largely by a single individual with significant contributions from vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Maria Prismakova, as well as other musicians. All details about the participants and the instruments used are provided in the accompanying booklet. This album grew out of a deep reflection on local religious identity and the search for archetypal foundations. Having crossed epochs and transcended territorial boundaries, this path of understanding ultimately leads back to its origin - the native land - in a symbolic return to the Mother. 'Motinai' is a cultural and creative historiography of the Great Goddess - a presence that, according to the author's perception, has been rooted in local religious tradition from ancient times.
Through the archaeology of myths, echoes of the distant past, and a projection into the future, the album embodies the idea of archaeofuturism - a deep rooting in tradition combined with a striving beyond its limits. Initially positioned within Tver neofolk (the name Kreiviskai itself coming from Old Prussian, meaning "in a Krivish way"), over time the project has dissolved genre boundaries. In 'Motinai,' elements of dark folk, ritual ambient, ethnic motifs, and neoclassical music are interwoven, creating a unique, timeless, and profound sonic fabric. Proper formed in London, England in March 2015 with the aim of producing timeless 3 minute pop songs, with a nod to the past pop masters of the mid '60s and the late '70s in particular.
Guitarist and vocalist Ivano Bonfanti came to London from Milan with just a suitcase and a Rickenbacker guitar in the early 1990s, within a year he joined The Direction, a hard gigging mod revival band who he'd been following as a fan. Len Fleckney has played drums with many bands over the years, most notably with legendary mod revival group Long Tall Shorty and previously Eleanor Rigby (also Canadian band The Crescent Heights). Jez Payne and Joe Duggan make up the rest of Proper, on bass and guitar respectively. Proper's debut gig was at the iconic 100 Club, supporting The Scene and they've since gone on to build up a loyal live following and have taken their sound further afield. Having worked alongside legendary sound engineer Pat Collier, and Tony Morrison (Long Tall Shorty), their debut album was released in 2017. Back with Pat Collier, this time with Brett 'Buddy' Ascott (The Chords, The Fallen Leaves, etc) on producer duties, Proper locked themselves in Perry Vale Studios until they made eleven sure fire power popped hits, now collected on this very album. Edition of 300 copies on clear vinyl. Infinite Fog are delighted to present another piece of the intriguing Coil puzzle. In the mid 1990s the core team of John Balance and Peter Christopherson were continuing their exploration of the outer reaches of electronic sound production as exemplified by the 'Born Again Pagans' release, originally an EP only, featuring both the hugely danceable 'Protection' smash which had Danny Hyde's influence writ in large letters all over it, as well as the first outings of their intriguing more ambient/glitch-based ElpH material, probably their most haunting and haunted works. This 3LP anthology re-edition collects all of the ElpH material which didn't appear on their later 'Worship The Glitch' album, namely the 'pHILM #1' 10", a host of very rare compilation tracks as well as a number of at the time unreleased pieces in the same vein. The stunningly presented release also features the ElpH entity's last ever appearance originally available as part of Raster Noton's award winning 20 to 2000 series of releases, the 'Zwölf' EP. All of the material has been lovingly remastered by Jessica Thompson with re-imagined design-work by Oleg Galay and it includes a replica of the original St. Sebastian on acid poster.

Phonolab is a collaborative project from Anglo-Italian musician, solo artist and producer Gaudi and experimental electronica composer Eraldo Bernocchi. Both fearless creators known for pushing the boundaries of sound for almost four decades, the duo's album 'Disturbia' features contributions from heavyweights including Gerald Casale (Devo), Flowdan, Bill Laswell and the late Mark Stewart (The Pop Group). With its eclectic blend of electronic innovation, deep basslines, and cutting-edge sound design, 'Disturbia' challenges and captivates listeners with its bold, genre-defying vision, resulting in a deeply immersive and forward-thinking sonic experience. The title of the album was created by late post-punk pioneer and lead singer of The Pop Group, Mark Stewart, who was recording with Phonolab, shortly before he died. Some of the disruption and creative defiance Stewart embodied can be heard throughout the album including tracks such as the glitchy 'Lapis Lazuli' and album title track, 'Disturbia.' The album acts as a homage to one of the most influential post-punk pioneers the UK music scene has ever seen. Stewart was already friends with both Bernocchi and Gaudi, but unaware of the fact that the two "sonic mavericks" had known each over for over three decades. Seperately, Stewart was working on vocals with Bernocchi inspired by the dark atmospherics of the Sigillum S project, while simultaneously in discussion with Gaudi regarding a future collaboration.
It was during the recording of the album that Bernocchi and Gaudi felt Stewart's input would be invaluable to the outcome of the record and one track in particular: the album title track. Initially, vocals Stewart had recorded with Bernocchi were synchronized and with additional vocals added by Stewart, the unsettling 'Disturbia' was born. Elsewhere, other notable contributions on the album include Gerald Casale of Devo, who provides striking vocals via 'Phunk Investigation,' and adds a futuristic yet minimalist dimension to the album. 'Disturbia' also features UK grime icon and Grammy Award winner Flowdan whose powerful vocal presence brings an urban and unsettled intensity to the project. Another key figure on the album is American bassist, composer and music producer Bill Laswell who features on two tracks.

Jake Stephenson was a lovely, positive, gentle guy and a remarkably prolific recording artist. He recorded under dozens of aliases, releasing a steady stream of albums in the '90s - from ambient to trance, dub to drum'n'bass. He died from epilepsy in 2005. 20 years on, thanks to his brother Silas, to Swordfish (another old friend of Jake, who has kindly mastered everything) and two of Jake's partners in creating music - Brian Trower and Matt Hillier - Fdm has been able to put together this retrospective of his more chilled recordings (although let's be honest, Optica do let rip on 'Analogue Spectrum'!). Take your pick between a double LP and a triple CD set (which includes some seriously extended, spaced-out recordings), with Jake appearing as Optica, Dr, Psychedelic, Alien Mutation and Crystal Moon, among his many aliases. Limited to 100 copies on black vinyl.

'BRAZILIAN WAVE IN YUGOSLAVIA' - The rich musical history of Yugoslavia reveals a long-lasting love for the music of Latin America. Entwined in Afro-Cuban rhythms, ballrooms were shakin', swayin' and swingin', gathering musicians who were heavily into jazz bands and orchestras, most notably in Ljubljana, Zagreb, and Belgrade. Jazz could be heard on the streets of Split way back in 1919 when dancing became a symbol of freedom. Radio was the most loved household item, newest sheet music was in demand and collecting records was hip like today. In the aftermath of Second World War, jazz went underground but little by little, things changed and Ella, Satchmo, Dizzy and Miles came to visit, among others. Music festivals shaped the music for entertainment and variety of popular styles showed influences from all over the world. In the early sixties, one particular rhythm crashed on the coast of the Adriatic Sea: the rhythm of bossa nova! In the whirlwind of various musical styles, Latin American music still played important part of the scene in the early sixties Yugoslavia. Beguine, tango, rhumba, samba, calypso, mambo and cha-cha-cha all found their place on the festivals inspired by famous Sanremo, festival of Italian popular song that largely shaped the musical taste of Europe. It was the era of instrumental rock, R & B and rock'n'roll - sounds of "imperialist America" now played freely on imported and hand-made electric guitars. While dancing halls had been turning into concert venues, bossa nova has come! Eydie Gorme with 'Blame It On The Bossa Nova' and Paul Anka with 'Eso Besso (That Kiss!)' tried to make us learn some new dance moves but it was Joao Gilberto's gentle singing and his new way of playing samba songs, along with Tom Jobim's modern dissonant harmonies and poetry of Vinicius de Moraes that created the magic. When American alto saxophonist and flautist Bud Shank visited Zagreb and Ljubljana in 1963 (with Bosko Petrovic in his quintet) "it was the first time we heard bossa nova!" remembers Stjepan Braco Fuckar. Jugoton, the biggest record company in Yugoslavia, released the 4-track EP 'Bossa Nova' by Bogdan Dimitrijevic and his ensemble that same year! While not being fully accepted or understood completely, the archives of Jugoton reveal to us various interpretations of this new trend from their vast catalogue.
