MAL-ONE - PUNK ROCK CLOTHES FOR HEROES/VERSION

The punk movement also came fully clothed. This Mal-One single talks about the fashion side of punk that ran parallel to the music. These clothes were supplied from Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood's emporium situated at 430 King's Road, the epicentre of the punk movement itself. The clothes were not cheap and you needed deep pockets to buy them. But you also needed an attitude to wear them, as many factions were not so appreciative of them, especially the 'Teddy Boys.' You had to run the gauntlet of the King's Road on a Saturday from Sloane Square to the Worlds End. A tricky mile, in which you always had to keep your eyes open from enemy attack. The clothes were pieces of art and deserve their time in the spotlight and perhaps even in song. Hope you appreciate the gesture. Respect to that.

'Infini' is the result of a meeting between Marc Hurtado, known for his duo project Étant Donnés created in 1977, from the French experimental and industrial music scene, and Mark Cunningham from the New York no wave scene since the end of the '70s, under the entity Mars and compiled by Brian Eno in 'No New York.' The 'Infini' album was born in 2020 and completed in 2023. This particular project is a kind of 360° astral voyage, at the speed of light, carried away by the grace, madness, fire and kaleidoscopic whirlwind of the telescoping of the two artists' burning souls. Against a backdrop of Mark Cunningham's trumpet, bass and guitar, Marc Hurtado lays down his noisy drones and bewitching vocals, sealing and constructing an edifice whose stones seem to be cut and refined like diamonds. The atmosphere is psychedelic, cosmic, vaporous and blindingly dark. 'Infini' is the sound of blood, the blood of sound, a shattering mirror of fire, a wave of light in the sky, a path, a voice, a silence, a cry.

Reissue of Yukihiro Takahashi's debut solo album 'Saravah!.' One of the key Japanese albums of the '70s, it was released in 1978 at a key time when, following his tenure with Sadistic Mika Band, Yukihiro Takahashi had just joined the nascent line up of Yellow Magic Orchestra. A sophisticated mix of disco funk, synth pop, ambient, French exotica and bossa nova, the album has the stylish feel of a night out clubbing in Paris circa 1978. It is the missing link between the City Pop scene of the late '70s and the synth sound of YMO which was about to revolutionise the world. Newly remastered by renowned engineer Mitsuo Koike, the CD features original artwork with photos by Masayoshi Sukita (David Bowie's 'Heroes'), and a new introduction by Benjamin Barouh (Saravah Records).

These recordings, which were laid down especially for the USA radio stations WFMU and WGXC, will melt your speakers and your mind. Released on the ever excellent Feeding Tube Records (USA) and Cardinal Fuzz (UK). Bhajan Bhoy (aka Ajay Saggar) symbolises boundless creative freedom in all the music he has produced to date. This LP is no exception to that rule... in fact, this album showcases an even wider spectrum of sounds and ideas than could ever be imagined. From heavy lysergic guitar excursions, to dub inflected guitar pedal pop, to nu-age minimalism, to electronic experimentalism... all the terms and descriptions in the world don't do justice to the originality that lies within. When USA radio station WFMU asked Ajay to contribute tracks to a session for the show 'Feelings' (co-hosted by Michele and Creamo Coyl), he turned in 5 tracks that received tremendous feedback from around the world on the station's live chatline when broadcast. In addition, a session for WGXC further showcased the songwriting talent of Ajay. The ensuing 3 week tour of the USA cemented Bhjamn Bhoy's status as one of the most innovative musicians around.
