Hard Rock Sallinen

Heavy Metal Symphony (2cd)

Finnish metalheads have always been puzzled by the question of which is our country's first heavy metal band. It appears to be Hard Rock Sallinen, which was founded in 1974. Their source of inspiration was Rainbow, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Mountain, Aerosmith and Cactus. It took a long time before the band signed their first recording contract in the early 1980's. The debut album 'Heavy Metal Symphony' is now being re-released after 40 years, as the original edition has become a collector's rarity. This was their only album before disbanding in 1984, due to a lack of infrastructure in Finland that could have pushed heavy rock forward.
