This compilation was originally released in 1988. The Mega Wave Orchestra was a project of musician, mathematician and composer Christian Oestreicher, and was conceived as a multi-media electronic orchestra. The Orchestra created a hybrid music, with roots in jazz and classical music, as well as the sonic freedom of musique concrete and psychedelia. The diverse backgrounds and specialisms of each of the band members and composers resulted in a wide variety of styles: from austere drones and granular aural detail to warm oddball fusion and vocal jazz.
