Originally released in 1997, 'The Very Best Of Me' is a collection of material that New Orleans-based soul artist Jean Knight recorded in 1994. The CD includes rerecordings of her biggest Stax hit 'Mr. Big Stuff' (originally from 1971) and her popular mid-'80s song 'My Toot Toot'. The album also features a number of covers and the original version of her 1981 hit 'You Got The Papers But I Got The Man'.
