Havazelet Ron's story is a particular one. Born in Israel, she began singing in Yemenite-Arabic, which meant that her music was hardly performed on hebrew-orientated radio stations. And her music was too modern to Yemenite standards, so she fell in between two cultural worlds. Her breakthrough never occured. In March 1960 Havazelet Ron's only Israeli album, 'The Music Of The Desert' was released by the Makolit label, featuring Yemenite folk songs. Both songs on this 7" are from that album.
