Sparrows a.k.a. Ryota Miyake is one half of Tokyo-based synth outfit Crystal. The band was discovered by French house legends Justice and Surkin and collaborated with Teki Latex, former member of French rap outfit TTC and co-founder of Sound Pellegrino Records, which released 'Crystal Station 64' featuring Teki Latex and Hyperdub's Ikonika. This release entitled 'Berries' shows the fruits of his labour in a global way; inspired by his travels, and with feature spots from global artists, 'Berries' takes hints of Crystal-alike synth goodness and mixes them with cosmic jazz and Beta Band-style pop for an album that bursts with road trip sweetness and a mellow psych atmosphere.
