The trio's previous album, 2016's 'Veerian', focused on free-flowing soundscapes, whereas this 2019 release incorporates more overtly melodic sequences and rhythmic elements to widen its horizon. The balance between gentle propulsion and beatless soundscapes, both melodic and ambient, lends 'Ypsilon' a unique character and takes it into fresh new areas of experimentation.
