For singer-songwriter Elisabeth Cutler, her songs are as intimate as diary entries. But in the emotions of their world we can all recognize each other: heartbreak and passion, promises and fears, hopeful beginnings and painful losses. With ruthless openness and intense linguistic images, their songs explore the shores of folk, jazz and rock. After a life of traveling and moving, she found a new creative home in an idyllic location near Rome. This is where the songs of her seventh album 'Silence Is Rising' were created over the course of two years. Outwardly, the album is full of subtile details and jazz references, powered by funky rhythms and dreamy electronics. Below the surface, Cutler openly deals with her own mortality, with tragedies, small miracles and loneliness resulting from her creative independence.
