Malefactor's lineage traces back to seminal greats like Slayer, Sepultura and the like. What separates Malefactor from those two bands, however, is a much more natural sound. While nobody's going to mistake this album with something recorded decades ago, it doesn't sound like it was recorded straight through a computer and electronically cleaned. The production, courtesy of Matt Washburn, gives the band a full, warm sound.
