Finally on vinyl. Black version. Stepmother is Lukas Simonis (a.o. Dull Schicksal, Coolhaven, VRIL), Jeroen Visser (Kazanchis, Tetras, morFrom, Pale Nudes), Bill Gilonis (The Work, The Hat Shoes, Hail) and David Kerman (5UUs, Present, Thinking Plague, Aranis). Their LP 'Calvary Greetings' features Anglo-American-Dutch post-punk, prog-rock and experimental soundscapes with a dash of Monty Python thrown in. The music sounds like a reunion of an '80s band that never existed, with twangy guitars, nifty keyboards, zany drumming, vocal harmonies à la Lennon and McCartney (well, sort of), lop-sided rhythms and regurgitated spam lyrics. What more could you ask for?
