At long last, thanks to EMI Music Canada, the first two Maneige releases are available on CD. Although live versions of much of this material have previously been available in a digital format, it is obviously very satisfying to have the original studio recordings, remastered and free of pops and clicks, available for enjoyment. Featuring lengthy almost chamber-rock compositions, the first two Maneige albums are ambitious works with an original compositional voice, synthesizing some of the best parts of Soft Machine, Frank Zappa's 'Hot Rats', Gentle Giant, and so on.
