This was the band's flower-power inspired debut from 1970, produced by psychedelic-era Temptations mastermind Norman Whitfield and featuring wonderful male-female vocals and the wha wah guitar freak outs of Dennis Coffey. Highlights include an astonishing recording of 'California Soul' and utterly mind blowing renditions of 'Ball Of Confusion' and 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine', which are at least as spectacular as The Temptations' versions. Superb stuff!
