PSYCHEDELIC/PROGRESSIVE/FOLK

BHOPAL'S FLOWERS - DIAMOND QUEEN/THE MAJESTIC PURPLE SKY (7"/HYPNOTIC BRIDGE)

A collective of like-minded musicians led by Lionel Pezzano and based in Montreal, Canada, Bhopal's Flowers are inspired by both Eastern and Western influences in their soulful, sophisticated approach to songcraft. Inspired by the spiritual science of Anthroposophy, the band seeks truth through beauty, with each song blending modal and harmonic systems in a dancing constellation of esoteric concepts, powered by sitar and 12-string Rickenbacker guitar and driven by catchy melodies and intricate psychedelic arrangements.

MT. MOUNTAIN - TASSELS/DELUGE (7"/SIX TONNES DE CHAIR)

The first taste of Australian psych band Mt. Mountain's next full-length LP is a very special limited hand screen-printed 7" inch release with label Six Tonnes De Chair (France).

OUTSIDERS - YOU MISTREAT ME (7"/PSEUDONYM)

For eighteen months five teenagers from Amsterdam held the pop world spellbound. The Outsiders were stars from the moment they outshone The Rolling Stones, when they appeared as their supporting act in the 'Brabanthallen' in March 1966. With all that stardom entailed: hits, delirious fans and exaggerated newspaper headlines about their long hair and wild performances. But the bubble burst before singer Wally Tax's 21st birthday and The Outsiders split up. What remained is the memory of one of the best beat bands that The Netherlands has ever known. The first single 'You Mistreat Me' that The Outsiders recorded gets a new life on the Pseudonym label. In a limited pressing of 200 copies only, on white vinyl. Remastered from the original master tapes.

SKOOSHNY - DEEP DIVE (7"/MARKET SQUARE)

Skooshny are a band who've remained somewhat of a mystery throughout time, first coming to prominence in the late-'70s with their self released debut EP, they continued making fantastic music over the course of three decades. A magical musical force created out of the songwriting genius of Mark Breyer, the band glued together with the fantastic musician ship between David Windogrond, Bruce Wagner and Mark Breyer himself, the trio made some of the late-'70s, '80s and even '90s most unique sounding songs. A group who've always been ahead of the game so to speak, they were years ahead of the Californian counterparts in the Paisley Underground, they proceeded what we now know as the US college rock sound and were years ahead of the Southern jangle scene. Skooshny are a hard band to pinpoint, but in many ways groups which came after them owe them a huge debt of gratitude. This EP release, features the first ever recording by Skooshny; a 1972 self-recording which an introspective slice of power pop genius, the other songs on the EP include a full band recording from 1998 and home recorded demos by Mark Breyer in 1980. Each record comes housed in a double-sided risograph fold-over sleeve, which features commentary by both Mark and David of the group, giving us some insight to the recordings and their early beginning, there is a hand-numbered postcard and the record is strictly limited to 300. Get this unique archival release whilst you can.

GREEN PAJAMAS - THIS IS WHERE WE DISAPPEAR (2LP) (LP/SUGARBUSH)

2LP reissue for the first time of this legendary Green Pajamas album. Originally released on CD only on the Woronzow label in 2001. Limited to 250 copies only. Time appears to have little relevance for The Green Pajamas. The Seattle-based band, which remains virtually unknown after 19 years of recording, is just as likely to draw inspiration from 18th century literature as Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd. 'This Is Where We Disappear' is a concept album that weaves references to ghosts, religion, lust, and love into compelling pop music.

LAMP OF THE UNIVERSE - DEAD SHRINE (GREEN) (LP/ASTRAL PROJECTION)

Lamp Of The Universe is Craig Williamson from Hamilton, New Zealand, who plays an esoteric form of psychedelic folk, rock and eastern music. A follow up to 2019's 'Align In The Fourth Dimension', this album has all that you'd come to expect from this long running project, but this time with a more acid rock vibe, burning fuzz guitars, hypnotic drums, effects, sitar, mellotron, stoned trance-like vocals all combine to make this release unique amongst his previous releases. Limited edition of 250 copies on 180 gram blue vinyl in a gatefold sleeve, pressed in New Zealand.

LITTLE FREE ROCK - LITTLE FREE ROCK (LP/LONGHAIR)

This is the first official release under licensed courtesy of BMG Rights Management,UK, remastered from an original master copy out of the vaults of BMG. Little Free Rock, a classic trio from Preston, Lancashire, founded in 1969, were one of the first psychedelic and or progressive rock efforts of folk label Transatlantic (a.o. Jody Grind, Circus with Mel Collins). They released their eponymous album in November 1969. Although underrated in times of release till today this album is definitely one of the many gems of the UK underground in the late sixties, early seventies. It's a brillant guitar-based psychedelic album filled with hypnotizingly melodic yet dynamic songs, with great memorable riffs and solos all over. As one critic wrote "It's got the heavy, it's got the light, it's got the blues, it's got the psyche and it's uninhibited all the way! Although all 9 titles are great, a highlight is the more than 10 minutes version of The Creation track 'Making Time'. Other critics compare their music and stated similarities to The Open Mind, The Dark or Bulldog Breed with lots of fuzz guitar and great vocals. The original recordings were carefully and properly remastered. The album comes with very comprehensive bandstory by guitarist Pete Illingsworth, a lot of photos summed up in a 4-sided cover-sized coloured insert sheet. Don't miss this eloquent testimony of great musicianship of the late sixties, early seventies. A masterpiece!

QUICKSAND - HOME IS WHERE I BELONG (LP/LONGHAIR)

This is the first official re-release on vinyl under licensed courtesy of BMG Rights Management,UK, remastered from an original master copy out of the vaults of BMG. Originally released in 1973 on Transatlantic progressive rock label Dawn, this underrated Welsh group convinces with great songwriting and musicianship! There are similarities with Fantasy, early Jonesy, Spring or Cressida, also a distinct Quicksilver Messenger Service 1960's "West Coast" sound influence. You hear plenty of guitars, electric and acoustic, and organ and mellotron to satisfy the 1970's progressive rock heads. Also the partly polyphonic vocals are really magnificent. There are two tracks that clear the 8 minute mark that are really overtly progressive pieces and are truly brilliant. Also they have a psychedelic feel, the atmosphere, the arrangements remind of the very early '70's. The album is well constructed alternating from pure heavy prog pieces like 'Sunlight Brings Shadows', 'Seasons - Alpha Omega', 'Overcome The Pattern'/'Flying', or the title track 'Home Is Where I Belong', with similarity to Uriah Heep's 'Demons And Wizards' era) to mellower ones like 'Empty Street Empty Heart', with a beginning in an absolutely Beatles atmosphere. The original recordings were carefully and properly remastered. The album comes in a gatefold sleeve with bandstory summed up in a 2-sided cover sized insert sheet. Don't miss this definitely hidden classic from the almost infinite and fertile British 70's scene.

TREES COMMUNITY - THE CHRIST TREE (2LP) (LP/OLD BEAR RECORDS)

The Trees Community was a 1970s Episcopal religious order that created and performed original world music on over eighty instruments. Ethereal voices and complex avant-garde arrangements of ancient sounding folk music are the hallmark of the Trees Community sound. For years, only one published recording of their music has existed: The 1975's 'The Christ Tree' LP. Over the decades this recording has garnered a ton of indie credibility, being referred to as an influence of the Fleet Foxes and Sufjan Stevens.

VARIOUS - THE 17TH DREAM OF DR. SARDONICUS (2LP/COL 1) (LP/FRUITS DE MER)

Colour 1 TBA. 'The 17th Dream Of Dr. Sardonicus Live' is a double LP celebrating the 2019 get-together of the friends and extended family of Fruits de Mer Records and Sendelica, held as always in the shadow of Cardigan Castle in the Cellar Bar. The 2019 festival saw a pretty amazing line-up of artists, from legends such as The Bevis Frond, Ken Pustelnik's Groundhogs and The Chemistry Set to new artists like Moon Goose, Elfin Bow and Sarah Birch - and of course Fruits de Mer and local favourites, Sendelica; but almost as amazing was the fact that all three nights of recordings went really well, so they had a hell of a job selecting the tracks for this set... They decided to include as many performances as possible within the confines of 20 minutes per side (not that easy when some of the bands think 20 minutes is the length of a typical intro!); amongst the tracks you'll find Elfin Bow playing Stevie Marriott and the Chemistry Set playing Hendrix, but have a listen for yourself and enjoy all three days crammed into 80 minutes. SIDE 1: 1. Sarah Birch - Reverence 2. Mark McDowell & Friends - Starstreamer 3. Alain Pire Experience - Lazin' In The Afternoon 4. Ken Pustelnik's Groundhogs - The Garden SIDE 2: 1. Elfin Bow - Autumn Stone 2. Fellowship Of Hallucinatory Voyagers - Taith Yr Afon Teifi SIDE 3: 1. The Chemistry Set - Love Or Confusion 2. Sendelica - Nine Miles High SIDE 4: 1. Three Dimensional Tanx - Racing Car #9 2. Moon Goose - Second Life 3. The Bevis Frond - Pale Blue Blood

VIBRAVOID - KURSAAL PSICHEDELICO (PD) (LP/VINCEBUS ERUPTUM)

FOUR ONE & ONLY'S - STICKER (LP/GREY PRODUCTION)

First ever vinyl release of a CD only 1993 release by prolific Dutch indie band the Four One & Only's, crossing the borders of garage, indie, psych, folk, punk, anarchy and weirdness in a still unique way. The LP comes in a gatefold sleeve with insert and gimmick sticker. The music was produced by Joseph James Foster and Stephen Parfitt in Rugby, UK. The sleeve art is by Berend Vonk. In the liners you can read about the disastrous trip to the UK, the band destruction sleeping in a 24 hour party people house, the destruction of the master tape in the mastering facility, the disappearance of the bass-player, the CD which was mastered from a cheap copy cassette and which sounded like totall shit... breathtaking. All sounds are re-edited at Studio 195 with Patrick Delabie. Now these cleared sounds show a band escaping the UK and US influences and creating a sound of their own. Indie, underground and very Dutch. In 1993 it must have been the unhippest record of the year as it stood outside everything happening those days. But now it just might fall in the right place and time. Very danceable tunes mixed with weird rhythms. Punky, garagey, folkey, psychedelic. Songs about seals and Armageddon. A classic. 300 copies.

POP/ROCK/WAVE/NOISE

STOLEN APPLE - COVER WAGON (CD/ROCK BOTTOM)

Stolen Apple is an Italian alt-rock band with sonic characteristics ranging from proto punk to the rough and American '90s sound. Previous projects were called Stout, Malastrana, Nest, Subterraneans and Valvola. Three years after the preceding 'Trenches', the band comes out with an album to claim the free spirit that allows it to move and advance in various genres while keeping its attitudes intact. 'Wagon Songs', in addition to a further journey towards awareness, represents an artisan and underground world that many no longer recognize, too caught up in their small daily desperations, addicted and overwhelmed by the stratification of thoughts.

METAL/STONER/HARDROCK

The first volume in the Heavy Psych Sounds 'Doom Sessions' series is a split album with 2 tracks by doomy-sludge band Deadsmoke and the UK heavy-riff masters Conan's masterpiece 'Beheaded'. Cover design by Alan O'Neill.

TO PRAGMA - YEAR OF THE THING (LP/TRUMPETFISH)

The Greek jazz orchestra featuring pianist Costis Christodoulou releases its second album. Issued eight years after the debut, this work features original compositions based on swing and blues traditions (think Charles Mingus and Duke Ellington), but also drawing on the modal sounds of f.i. Sun Ra and John Coltrane. The album is intended as a creative pursuit of happiness, for the musicians involved as well as the listeners.

SEINI, LINGO -& SON GROUPE- - MUSIQUE HAUKA (LP/SAHEL SOUNDS)

One of the first full-length recordings of Hauka ritual music. The Hauka movement started nearly a century ago and has persisted on the fringes of Nigerien society. Documented in the 1955 Jean Rouch film 'Les Maitres Fous', the Hauka are a pantheon on spirits mirrored on colonial and military figures. Lingo Seini has played this ritual music for almost 60 years, learning it from his father. He is joined by his son Youssouf on the calabass and Issaka Moulla, playing his homemade kuntigi.
