PSYCHEDELIC/PROGRESSIVE/FOLK

ANUSEYE - 3.33.333 (LP/VINCEBUS ERUPTUM)

2019 album by Anuseye (born from the ashes of That's All Folks!). The album sound is a fresh heavy-psych proposal, really different from many actual issues: this is the third album by the band, released 5 years after the previous 'Essay On A Drunken Cloud.' Limited to 333 copies on translucent lime coloured vinyl.

APOLLO80 - (BLACK) LIZARD! LIZARD! LIZARD! (LP/SOUND EFFECT)

This band from the remote lands of Perth, Western Australia explores spacey landscapes on board of extreme distortions, big amps and really loud sound waves. Their first EP, 'Lizard! Lizard! Lizard!', melts together '90s heavy riffs with a solid drumming that calls back to your mind the golden era of stoner rock. Everything is then changed and rocketed straight into space by the guitar-work designing obscure galaxies of effects. Think of an impossible love child between Melvins, Fu Manchu and Hawkwind.

ELEVATORS TO THE GRATEFUL SKY - NUDE (BLACK) (LP/SOUND EFFECT)

Elevators to the Grateful Sky are back with their third fiery full-length album. 'Nude' showcases an extremely focused sound where early '90s Seattle-Sub Pop vibes melt with seducing psychedelic sections, heavy riffage and dreamy, sun-burnt instrumentals. Mastered at famed Mammoth Sound Mastering studio by Dan Randall (Iron Reagan, Noothgrush, 'The Walking Dead' OST and countless others) and decorated by carefully hand-drawn imagery by vocalist Sandro Di Girolamo. Black vinyl version, limited to 200 copies.

GREEN DESERT TREE - PROGRESSIVE WORLDS (2LP) (LP/CLOSTRIDIUM)

Here's an interesting debut-album by a band from Berlin that blends progressive '70s atmospheres with elements of jazz, classical music and film score vibes. Limited to 350 copies.

HIBUSHIBIRE - (BLACK) TURN ON, TUNE IN, FREAK OUT! (LP/RIOT SEASON)

It would be fair to say Hibushibire's 2017 debut album 'Freak Out Orgasm!' went down well with fans of psych-rock (call it what you will). So far its had three vinyl pressings, two cassette pressings and a CD run back in Japan. Once again their second album is produced by Makoto Kawabata (Acid Mothers Temple, Mainliner) and it's the next logical step in the band's sonic development. As with its predecessor, side one consists of three tracks, 'Ecstasy Highwaystar', 'Blow! Blow! Blow!' and 'Overdose, Pussycat! More! More!'. Some of these titles will be familiar if you've followed the band's live shows in recent times, and it's pretty much a guitar to the front, full gonzo-style hard-rocking psychedelic freak out from the first blast of Changchang's guitar panning from left to right before the main riff kicks it all off. Again, as with their debut, side two comprises of just one epic length track. 'Rollercoaster Of The Universe' clocks in at seventeen minutes and is the sound of the band moving onto the next level during its journey. It's a shudderingly beautiful piece, with many hypnotic twists and turns.

HINCHLIFFE, ROBERT - SONGS (LP/CAMELEON)

First publication after 45 years of waiting for this superb LP of English folk à la Nick Drake or Bill Fay. Only 2 acetates exist of the original. Limited to 500 copies.

HOODOO RITUAL - HOODOO RITUAL (LP/OZIUM)

Hashish rock with punk attitude! Some say it's stoner, some say doom, some say heavy metal. The band itself calls it first wave of Gambian stoner. Influenced by Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats, Sleep, Creedence, Johnny Thunders, Hendrix, Elmore James.

NACHO MAMBA - FUZZCINATOR (LP/SELF RELEASE)

Four years after their debut album and the highly recommended second album 'Sun/Moon' in 2017, German psychrockers Nacho Mamba are back with their third full-length called 'Fuzzcinator'. This album was recorded in two sessions in 2018 by the band themselves. Exploring a much deeper songwriting paired with the band's signature sound, it's a noisy ride between hallucinating guitar trips, fuzzy bass sounds and groove-driven drums. Comes on 180 gram clear vinyl including download.

OBLIVION REPTILIAN - FRIED ON ROCK (BLACK) (LP/SOUND EFFECT)

Oblivion Reptilian is a collaboration between Andrew Panagopoulos (drums/percussion) from Australian heavy space rock band Comacozer and Mike Vest (bass/guitar) from legendary bands such as Bong, Blown Out, 11Paranoias, Melting Hand, Lush Worker. Obviously both Andrew and Mike have their own tones and style and drawing influences from their other projects but in saying that Oblivion Reptilian comes into its own. With their 'Fried On Rock' debut, better be prepared for 5 tracks of instrumental space rock, fuzz and feedbacker glory, along with some haunting breakdowns and mid tempo melancholia. 'Fried On Rock' has amazing album artwork and design by Anthony Downie, who just nailed the theme and feel of Oblivion Reptilian. With a wide range of influences, such as Jojo Hiroshige, Helios Creed, High Rise, Hendrix, Holy Angels, Okhami No Jikan, be prepared for some tripped out noisy psych tunes. Limited to 200 copies on black vinyl.

PYRAMIDAL - PYRAMIDAL (LP/LAY BARE)

This album contains five new songs filled with the band's blend of Hawkwindish Sabbath Floydian ancestral space rock. There are a few seconds of silence before the opening track of Pyramidal's self-titled third album, 'Visions Of An Astral Journey,' begins and the choice to leave them there tells you much of what need know about the level of detail and meticulousness the Alicante, Spain, progressive heavy psychedelic rockers have put into the record as a whole. Limited to 250 copies on milky clear with swamp green, sea blue, bone splatter vinyl.

RALLIZES DENUDES + BE - THERE'S NO HEAVEN LIKE HELL (2LP) (LP/ALTERNATIVE FOX)

One of the strangest and most enigmatic groups in the history of rock'n'roll, Les Rallizes Denudes, also known as Hadaka no Rallizes or Hadaka no Rarizu, were a Japanese experimental rock band that is often cited as a pioneering force of the noise rock movement. Inspired by the Velvet Underground and other groups employing prominent, overamplified guitar, the band's music was typically based on repetitive rhythmic patterns bolstered by Takeshi Mizutani's heavily distorted lead guitar, though the poor sound quality of early demos apparently turned Mizutani away from studio recordings, rendering much of their output in the form of live bootlegs, supplanted by the occasional leaked studio demo. The two versions of 'There's No Heaven Like Hell' presented here were recorded on 1 April 1975 at Rallizes House in Fussa, a small town to the west of Tokyo, joining Mizutani with keyboardist/guitarist Taisuke Morishita's experimental group Be, originally known as Yellow. The first version takes the form of an epic slow drone, featuring Mizutani on acid guitar, backed only by Morishita's pulsating synthesizer lines; the second version is in full marathon mode, an hour-long dirge that sees the spacey duo joined by drummer Shunichiro Shoda and a plodding bassist in the latter portion.

SOLAR HALOS - COILED LIGHT (LP/CURSED TONGUE)

A trio from North Carolina featuring (ex-) members of Horseback, Curtains Of Night, Caltrop and Fin Fang Foom. Sublime grooves of heavy haziness married to equally sublime vocals. A stunning collection of songs that are truly worth their weight in gold! Limited to 300 copies.

VARIOUS - LE BEAT BESPOKE, VOL. 8 (LP/DETOUR)

'THE NEW UNTOUCHABLES PRESENTS...' - The 16 songs in this vinyl collection are obscure underground '60s club sounds, overlooked on release, but revered by dj's, dancers and collectors today. SIDE 1: 1. Painted Air - The Remaining Few (Dr Robert mix) 2. Just Let Go - The Seeds (Unissued 1966 recording) 3. Seasons - Neal Ford & The Fanatics 4. Down To The Sky - Sean Bonniwell 5. People Grow On You - The 7th Seal 6. Tomorrow's Sunlight - The Estes Bros 7. Please - B.G. System 8. Mister Sun - Sound Vendor SIDE 2: 1. (I Remember) How it Used To Be - Oedipus & The Mothers 2. Do You Have To Ask - The Swinging Machine 3. Searchin' - Lenny Roberts 4. Loves A Workin' - Dean Carter 5. Sally I Do - Abdullah's Regime 6. I Want You Sherry - Jude 7. Ask Me If I'm Ready - The Sweet Feeling 8. I Want You - Tony & Terri

WARP - WARP (LP/NASONI)

Warp was conceived by three pals from Tel Aviv with some punk rock blood in their veins but still a great love and desire for riff driven rock and roll music. Their debut LP was recorded after several years of polishing their sound, or is it littering? Anyways, here's some dark, gloomy and yet powerful and bouncy stuff for y'all to enjoy! Comes on yellow vinyl.

YILDIRIM, DERYA -& GRUP SIMSEK- - KAR YAGAR (LP/BONGO JOE)

Two years after the success of 'Nem Kaldi', outernational psych-pop sensation Derya Yildirim & Grup Simsek deliver their debut album 'Kar Yagar' - and it was worth the wait! Over the course of it's 12 tracks, the powerful sound of the baglama (Turkish lute) and Derya Yildirim's stunning vocals, builds and unravels stories together with the guitars, organs, drums, flute and bass. 'Kar Yagar' (which translates as 'Snow Falls') has the dynamics of an epic journey through the Anatolian highlands; where deep-rooted folk effortlessly switches to sparkly improvisation or dancy pop tracks. The album was self produced at their studio in the French Alps, and the band's tour de force resides in their ability to develop their personal sound and approach whilst keeping their heart tuned to Derya Yildirim's Anatolian roots. The LP also contains a string of Turkish folk songs, that the band entirely re-arranged whilst preserving their original spirit and soul.

BARBEAU, ANTON - BERLINER GROTESK (CD/PINK HEDGEHOG)

A delightful release of pre-apocalyptic psychedelic pop from a US-born, Berlin-based musician who has worked with members of XTC, The Soft Boys, The Bevis Frond, Cake and many more!

HALL, NATHAN -& THE SINISTER LOCALS- - TUNGUSKA TYDFIL (CD/HIP REPLACEMENT)

A very eclectic album that has influences as disparate as the incidental music to 1960s TV series 'Randall And Hopkirk (Deceased)', 'Red River Rock' by Johnny & The Hurricanes, ghost folk, early post Syd Pink Floyd, the manic harpsichord flourishes of 'Da Capo' era Love, deranged circus music, ghost town pianos, spoken word sound collages, Procol Harum, and it has a broken hearted haunted torch song at the end called 'Even This City Won't Last'.

GARAGE/BEAT/SURF/ROCK’N’ROLL

JOE DEE & HIS JETTONES - REBEL WITH A CAUSE (BLACK) (7"/PLAN 9 TRASH)

Even tough Joe looks more Irish, some say, that he was born as Giovanni Di Restio in Brooklyn. Malicious tongues claim that he's never been in the States and that he "non capisce una parola di italiano". Joe Dee would be just an artifical name, chosen in remembrance of the original '50s rocker Joey Dee (& the Starlighters). Or is there a connection with a not very compimentary Marines' slang-word at all? However, the combo says, it's not important where you come from but where you go! SIDE 1: 1. Willy Nilly 2. Rock Away Your Blues SIDE 2: 1. Rebel With A Cause 2. Dark River

VARIOUS - SCHNITZELBILLY #5 (BLACK) (7"/PLAN 9 TRASH)

'ROCKABILLY MADE IN AUSTRIA' - This EP contains another four fantastic rockin' and rollin' Austrian bands. Austria isn't shaped like a bizarre guitar by accident, it's because they rock! SIDE 1: 1. Joe Dee & His JetTones - Robot Girl 2. The Oilchange Trio - Truckdriver Tom SIDE 2: 1. The Ridin' Dudes - Groove Of The Dudes 2. The Lettners - Shipwrecked

BIKES - BIKES (III) (LP/ALIEN SNATCH!)

Bikes' third album features totally stripped down, early '70s rock in the ridiculously enough tiny parking lot between Natural Child and Rolling Stones. In a matter of course, it's the perfect album to live the moment of now. Limited to 500 copies.

BOOM! BOOM! DELUXE - (BLACK) TEENAGEJUVENILEDELINQUENTROCKNROLLHORRORBEACHPA (LP/PLAN 9 TRASH)

New Zealand's best: Boom! Boom! Deluxe was founded by D.D. Deluxe and Hettie La Bombe in 2016. The combo is important in the New Zealand music scene ever since then. Boom! Boom! Deluxe creates theit original rockin' music with the energy and the excitement of the original '50s sound, without copying the legends of that time. The first album was released on Bear Family Records. Their second album on the Austrian Plan 9 Trash label also features former Sex Pistols member Glen Matlock.

FISHER, LONESOME DAVE - ROCKABILLY RAMBLERS AND TEXAS TRAVELLERS (CD/PLAN 9 TRASH)

Lonesome Dave Fisher is from Austin, Texas. On 'Rockabilly Ramblers And Texas Travellers' he is backed by great U.S. musicans, such as Kevin Smith, best known as High Noon's bassplayer.

DEAD MOON - THE BOOK (+2LP) (Bk/MISSISSIPPI)

Dead Moon were a DIY band, active for 19 years. Singer and guitarist Fred Cole was playing music since the early 1960s - beginning his career as Deep Soul Cole, the white Stevie Wonder, then joining the psychedelic garage rock band the Lollipop Shoppe/The Weeds. In the '70s and early '80s Fred and Toody Cole played in various punk, country and hard rock bands. In the late 1980s, they formed Dead Moon with Andrew Loomis. This band went on to become mythic and legendary. They lived by a DIY code built around superstitions and avoidance of conventional music industry pitfalls. Their story is completely unique amongst the pantheon on rock bands, a group who never sold out, never gave in and built a legacy of art and community piece by piece in a sustainable way almost unheard of. The book is a tribute to their unique aesthetic, unbelievable twisted path of a story, and roll as pioneers of the Portland music scene. The book tells the entire Dead Moon saga in the words of the band itself. Just the voices of Fred, Toody and Andrew. It includes a complete illustrated discography of everything Fred, Toody and Andrew have released, song lyrics, and TONS of band photos, flyers, and weird ephemeral stuff. Lots of it has never been seen by the greater public. The package also includes 2 LPs of the "best of" Dead Moon - lovingly remastered from the original tapes. This 2019 edition comes with glossy book cover. Authors/editors: Fred Cole, Toody Cole, Andrew Loomis, Szim, Erin Yanke and Eric Isaacson. 12.5 x 12.5 inch hardcover 300 page full color art book weighing around 7 pounds or 3 kilograms. The cover has die cuts embedded and holds the 2 LPs.

POP/ROCK/WAVE/NOISE

HYPERCULTE - MASSIF OCCIDENTAL (LP/BONGO JOE)

Second album by this Swiss trans pop kraut duo, formed by the cream of Genevan experimental scene (Simone Aubert on drums, guitar and vocals and Vincent Bertholet on double-bass and vocals) follows its crazy procession in a chaotic word to carry us away in its disco, pop, kraut, punk AND post rock trance.

TOXIC RABBITS - (BLACK) CITY OF DEAD LIGHTS (LP/SOUND EFFECT)

Debut album from Athens, Greece, post-punk quartet Toxic Rabbits. 'City Of Dead Lights' is a slap in the face of modern day urban conformism, full of punishing post-punk grooves, razor-sharp guitars and existential lyrics, courtesy of radiant lead singer Danae Kassimi.

VARIOUS - CHEVANCE (ETC.) (LP/BORN BAD)

'OUTREMUSIQUE POUR ENFANTS 1974-1985' - France at the crossroads of the 70s: the Chevance collection revolutionizes music for children. Mixing forward-thinking folk and avant-garde jazz, driven by a strong literary spirit, its exceptional catalog was created under the direction of producer Philippe Gavardin, in the tradition of the Saravah label or iconoclastic publisher Harlin Quist. Anti-fables, songs from mysterious countries, wild bestiaries... It brought together a band of classically inspired free musicians, propelling its singers into orbit by exploiting all the fantastical potential of texts by Jean Tardieu, Robert Desnos, Jacqueline Held and many others. More strictly instrumental, its younger sibling, the Sonoriage collection completed the company, dedicating itself to the acousmatic exploration of children's familiar environments. Featuring Cristine Combe, Anne Et Gilles, Steve Waring Et Le Workshop De Lyon, Jean-Louis Méchali, Jacques Cassard, Jean-François Gaël, Bernard Baschet, Alain Savouret, Anne H. Bustarret, Jean Querlier, François Méchali, Le Groupe Organon, Jean-Louis Bucchi, Jean-François Canape, Jean-Charles Capon, Christian Rollet, Alain Gibert, Louis Sclavis, Naomi Moody...

INDUSTRIAL/EXPERIMENTAL/NOISE/NEOFOLK/GOTHIC

COIL - SWANYARD (3LP) (LP/INFINITE FOG)

Nearly 150 minutes of unreleased Coil recordings around the period 1993 to 1996, from Danny Hyde's studio archives. Commissioned artwork by Steven Stapleton, from a recalled dream by Jhon Balance. Mastering by Martin Bowes (Attrition).

DER BLAUE REITER (SPAIN) - UNITED, YET DIVIDED (LP/DARK VINYL)

Sixth album of Der Blaue Reiter, featuring Sathorys Elenorth and Cecilia Bjärgö (Arcana). Neoclassic meets martial darkfolk. With the release of this album, the journey of Sathory Elenorth's magical music and Cecilia Bjärgö's lyrics continues, which will lead the listener into the history, distant but not forgotten. With the support of Maria Montes and Lady Nott (Narsilion/Ordo Funebris). For fans of Current 93, Death In June, Arcana and Narsilion. Includes two bonus tracks.

MUSLIMGAUZE - BABYLON IS IRAQ (LP/STAALPLAAT)

Exact release date t.b.a. Unsurprisingly for a creator as prolific as Muslimgauze's Bryn Jones was, when he was asked for a contribution for any sort of group project, he would tend to provide more options than necessary. In the case of longtime label Staalplaat's 1996 compilation 'Sonderangebot', where Jones would find himself in the company of everyone from Chalemagne Palestine to Reptilicus, the selected track was the characteristically headspinning 'Kaliskinazure', nine minutes of insistent digital percussion bouncing the listener back and forth between samples of wailing women's voices and a trebly, blurry little whirr that traces the percussion. It's distinctive enough even among the vast Muslimgauze corpus, but as the continued excavation of DATs Jones submitted to his labels continues, sure enough there's more to that track's story, too. An extended 'Kaliskinazure' makes up the second of four tracks on 'Babylon Is Iraq', although it's been lost to the mists of time whether an outside editor excised the more drifting, less needling coda that makes up the extra six minutes found here, or whether Jones simply submitted both versions of the track at different times. This more complete version of 'Kaliskinazure' is surrounded by shorter tracks, with the opening 'Kaliskinazure _ Momada' sounding not very much like either track it references (instead being a barely-there wisp of far-away sampled wind instruments and what sounds like treated cymbal sounds) and the title track constantly coming to a full, roiling digital boil. The lengthy 'Momada' closes out the album with a different, more tersely internal arrangement surrounding the same percussion pattern that will be familiar to any 'Sonderangebot' fans, although the way the quieter atmosphere transforms the feeling of that rhythm indicates once more than Jones' way of reconfiguring his pieces over and over was perhaps more purposive and even more effective than he's sometimes given credit for. The result is a fascinating expansion on one of Muslimgauze's strongest stand-alone moments, as well as a fitting tribute to an artist who would never give you a track if an album would do. Such strong powers of suggestion. Cover made of 1mm thick blue cardboard, sewed, text silver glitter screen-print, black image, name, and side lines are lasercut. All done by hand! Limited to 500 copies.

ORFEON GAGARIN - VOCES A 45 (LP/GEOMETRIK)

First album in 25 years by veteran electronic musician Orfeon Gagarin (Miguel A. Ruiz). Fascinated by the sonic possibilities of analog and digital synthesizers and other studio techniques, Ruiz's style is fantastic and surprising, with an imagination that can be considered as overwhelming. Science, technology, Soviet space race, Borges, surrealism, clinical pathologies, black humour or extra-planetary life..., whatever eccentricity has a place within the microcosm of this artist. He has a wide range of musical references: post-industrial music from the eighties recorded in home studios, German cosmic music from the seventies, pioneers of electro-acoustic music, Japanese techno pop, old and strange film soundtracks, retro-futurism, mutant pop, ambient, etc.

REICH, STEVE - BERKELEY NOVEMBER 7, 1970 (LP/M)

Alternative Fox delivers a landmark release in the history of minimalism with a live performance documented from one of the genre's key figures - Steve Reich. Recorded live at Berkeley University in the 1970s (home also to key minimalism figures Terry Riley and La Monte Young), this performance sees Reich deliver some of his now legendary compositions, such as the shifting tape-loop experimentation of 'My Name Is', whereby vocals are cut up, looped and played at different speeds to create constantly shifting combinations. Similar to his 'It's Gonna Rain', it's utterly disorientating and makes for an absorbinglistening whilst doffing a cap to cut-up techniques championed by early Dadaists and later Brion Gysin and Burroughs. The two-part 'Piano Phase' demonstrates the effects of playing minimalistic notes on two separate pianos at slightly different speeds, so the two drift in an out of phase with each other. The effects are highly meditative, causing subtle rhythmic mutations throughout the piece, whilst 'Phase Patterns' explores a similar technique albeit with a grainer electric organ. Last but not least, 'Four Organs' explores the effects of sustained chords on multiple organs, set amongst a perpetual maraca, whereby the combination of interlocking chords on the separate instruments amalgamate to form a dense, textured tonal tapestry.

RILEY, TERRY/DON CHERRY/KARL BERGER - LIVE IN KÖLN, 23.2.1975 (2LP) (LP/ALTERNATIVE FOX)

The concert staged by Terry Riley, Don Cherry and Karl Berger in Cologne, Germany on February 23 1975 serves as a landmark of minimalist jazz. The album is comprised of just three mega-length songs, with Riley in the driver's seat, Berger as a steady accompaniment and Cherry passing through in fleeting melodic moments; final track 'Köln Improvisations' references the Indian musical and spiritual forms that were so appealing to each musician; opening track 'Descending Moonshine Dervishes' bridges the psychedelic and minimalist realms and 'Sunrise Of The Planetary Dream Collective' is based on throbbing, repetitive keyboard and vibraphone patterns.

ATRAX MORGUE - PARANOIA (EXPANDED) (CD/OLD EUROPA CAFE)

The standard edition has sold-out and here is the expanded edition/re-print of one the best -if not THE best- Atrax Morgue CDs! This edition comes with 2 alternative versions of the track 'Il Forpice Di Thanatos' which was first released on the 'Malaplacenta' 7" out on OEC in 2017. The original project dates back in 2007 just before Marco's death. On those 2 alternative tracks you can hear Marco's voice ranting the text written by Muzakiller on one slightly different and one completely different sound basis. The entire album was re-mastered by Marco's old friend and companion in crime Devis G. (Necrofilia/Teatro Satanico). 'Paranoia' was the first and only full-length CD-album out on OEC in 2000 by Atrax Morgue, the Italian prophet of Murderous & Pain Elektronik Muzak. A slow death with great sorrow. A psychopathic, ready to kill, sick voice pervading the entire album. High self-abusing power electronics mixed to dangerous feed-backs and noises. An isolationist and disgusting soundtrack for disturbed maniacs suffering of multiple personality disorder.

ATRAX MORGUE - PATHOPHYSIOLOGY (CD/OLD EUROPA CAFE)

First released as a tape in 1995, and re-printed onto CDr in 2002. Finally, 24 years after first release, here's a 2019 CD digipak re-edition of this legendary album. For the CDr re- release the tape had been completely remastered at Sweet Slaughter by Marco Corbelli himself, and to the original tape recordings 2 unreleased tracks were added, recorded in 1995 and 2 unreleased tracks recorded in 2002. This was and still is best Italian morgue P/E industrial. Brutal synth-noise by the cadaverous mind of this sick Italian monster.

MERZBOW - HERMERZAPHRODITES (2CD) (CD/OLD EUROPA CAFE)

An unusual Merzbow double CD album, in lovely (digipak) packaging! Two very different CDs bounded in one unique release. While on one disc the sounds are more "ambient style", with a free piano, many field recordings, far and rumbling rhythms and noises (The Piano Lento Ma Non Troppo Madness), the other disc's sounds are diving deep into "poly-rhythmics", continously beating and popping plus additional sequencing and 'exploding' sounds (The Pop-Corn Psychedelia). The soundtrack for a new psychedelic dance! Special "hermaphroditic" artwork by Lilian Pelizzari Giust, full of colours and hermaphroditic images for a complete psychedelic experience.

RAISON D'ETRE - ANIMA CAELUM (2CD) (CD/OLD EUROPA CAFE)

'Anima Caelum' contains both complete live sets and selections of tracks from live recordings by Raison d'être from performances, stretching from the world tours of 2014-2015 to the very unique moment at the once-in-a-lifetime event 'Cold Meat Industry 30 years Anniversary Live' in 2017 performing one track from each of his Cold Meat Industry studio albums. This is apocalyptic music that can bring life to heaven! Originally released on Old Europa Cafe as a double MC in 2018, now revised and remastered for CD-format and optimum sound quality [K-14 level mastering]. All music by Peter Andersson 1991-2017.

VIOLET TEARS - METAMORFOSI (CD/DARK VINYL)

Violet Tears delivers doomy darkwave in a typical '80s/'90s style. Gothic meets neo-classic meets ethereal. Their expansive waves of electric guitar, subtle piano and acoustic guitar and swirling synths provide the elements of a dark mix of gothic and dark ethereal sound reminiscent of early 4AD recordings. For fans of Mors Syphilitica, Lycia, Faith & The Muse and This Ascension.

METAL/STONER/HARDROCK

WIZZERD - WIZZERD (2LP) (LP/CURSED TONGUE)

Doom metal from the mountains of Montana! A high-octane, fuzz-fuelled, rompin' stompin' monster! A brilliant follow-up to 2016's 'Doomchild'. Limited to 400 copies on green and purple vinyl.

CRESTFALLEN QUEEN - QUEEN OF SWORDS (CD/CHURCH WITHIN)

Hailing from Stuttgart, Germany, Crestfallen Queen releases a CD of majestic doom metal, with influences from '70s hardrock and prog.

LORD VICAR - BLACK POWDER (CD/CHURCH WITHIN)

Presented on CD, it's the fourth full-length by the respected super-outfit consisting of members of Reverend Bizarre, Centurions Ghost, Saint Vitus and Count Raven. 'Black Powder' marks a return to longer form and even more progressive song structures. However, the punchier material is also provided with merciless precision, as well as soothing acoustic moments.

PYRAWEED - GREEN JINN (CD/ROBUST FELLOW)

Hypnotic stoner/doom by this band from Baku, Azerbaijan formed in 2015. No guitar appears on this release, it has come down to drums, bass, samples and effects. CD comes in digipack.

THRONEHAMMER - USURPER OF THE OAKEN THRONE (CD/CHURCH WITHIN)

On CD, here is the debut-album by an English-German force, roughly sounding like Candlemass-meets-Bathory-meets-Warhorse. Fans of those bands shouild definitely check out Thronehammer's music!

JAZZ/AVANTGARDE

SANDERS, PHAROAH - LIVE AT ANTIBES JAZZ FESTIVAL, JULY 21, 1968 (LP/ALTERNATIVE FOX)

Pharoah Sanders live at the Antibes Jazz Festival in Juan-les-Pins, July 21, 1968. Pharoah Sanders' status began to rise upon joining John Coltrane's band in 1965, where his discordant solos formed a strong contrast to Trane's more melodious sound, though each player had a strong impact on the other's subsequent work. Following Coltrane's untimely death in 1967, Sanders formed a quartet of his own with former Jazz Messengers pianist Lonnie Liston Smith, bassist Norman 'Sirone' Jones of the Untraditional Jazz Improvisational Team, and drummer Majeed Shabazz. For this blistering performance, given at the Antibes Jazz Festival of 1968 and broadcast on French radio station WDR3, the quartet moves through various Sanders free-jazz workouts, taking in 'Venus' from the 'Tauhid' album and 'The Creator Has A Master Plan' from 'Karma' along the way, with the rhythm section holding down the fort as Sanders blows himself into the stratosphere.

THOLLOT, JACQUES - QUAND LE SON DEVIENT AIGU, JETER... (LP/SOUFFLE CONTINUM)

...LA GIRAFE A LA MER' - First ever vinyl reissue including 16 page booklet with unpublished photos an an essay by Jean Rochard. Licensed from Futura/Margean. This album from 1971 by French jazz drummer Jacques Thollot is an extraordinary sonic collage, created from discrete re-recordings and using just a handful of instruments including drums and piano. The result is a miracle, though the economy of means the production technique succeeds in putting the spotlight on the oddly elaborate compositions under an enigmatic but well-chosen title, borrowed from poet Henri Michaux.

SOUNDTRACKS/LOUNGE/CULT ETC

UMILIANI, PIERO - IL PARADISO DELL'UOMO O.S.T. (LP/ALTERNATIVE FOX)

Italian film composer Piero Umiliani enjoyed a long and illustrious career, creating nearly 200 film soundtracks, along with 40 music library LPs and some 35 television themes. Born in Florence in 1926, he was first recognised internationally for his work on the soundtrack of 1958 crime caper 'I Soliti Ignoti' (AKA 'Big Deal On Madonna Street', 'Persons Unknown' or 'Le Pigeon'), which featured noted jazz trumpeter, Chet Baker - the first time, in fact, that jazz music had been used for an Italian comedy feature. Umiliani teamed with Baker again in 1961, along with Croatian-American jazz singer Helen Merrill, for the soundtrack of 'Smog', a drama about an Italian lawyer's unintended escapades in Los Angeles, and his work was later featured on American and British television shows, including 'The Muppets', 'The Benny Hill Show' and 'The Red Skelton Show'. 'Il Paradiso Dell'Uomo' (AKA 'Man's Paradise'), subtitled 'Forbidden Japan,' was a little-known documentary released in 1963 focussing on the roles assigned to women in the country, from the traditional pearl-fishing divers of the coast and urban factory workers to traditional dancers and the ambiguous world of geisha and striptease. This impossibly-rare soundtrack mixes eastern and western musical elements, veering from classical tropes to swing jazz, with Chinese singer Mei Lang Chang on a couple of tracks and singer/composer/musicologist Francesco Potenza leading the chorus on another.
