PSYCHEDELIC/PROGRESSIVE/FOLK

BRUJAS DEL SOL - II (BLACK) (LP/KOZMIK ARTIFACT)

'II' comes on the tail end of big changes among the members in the band - both musically and personally. With influences within the prog, psych and post-rock communities. Those who enjoy hypnotic rhythms, fuzzy and modulated guitars, pulsating analogue synthesis and songs that blend progressive, space rock and heavy influences will appreciate 'II'.

DIRE WOLVES - PARADISIACAL MIND (LP/CARDINAL FUZZ)

Dire Wolves put forth a sound of ecstatic improvisation, each member documenting coordinate points in the higher dimensions of cosmic free-rock. The music lies somewhere near the nebulous intersection of psych, kosmische beat and astral jazz. These are exploratory journeys, transportive trance-based experiments in vertical listening, totally collaborative and often forming spontaneous compositions. The focus is more about feeling than any specific approach to playing. 'Paradisiacal Mind' conjures a floating stellular kraut Americano with quite a lot to pull you in to the mix and then drift you right back out again. Following two simultaneous 2017 releases -on Feeding Tube and Beyond Beyond Is Beyond- that explored out-of-body experience, this latest work turns decidedly inward. Psychic rock that guides your vision to heaven, and heaven is in your mind.

ELECTRIC ORANGE - UNTERWASSER, VOL. 2 (2LP) (LP/ADANSONIA)

This music was performed at the Manikin Records 10 year Anniversary Festival at the Toskana-Therme in Bad Sulza on Saturday the 6th of April 2002, late evening (11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.). Contrary to any other Electric Orange albums, this was only a 2 member electronic performance using analogue synthesizers, organ, guitar, vocoder, sequencer, tapes and sampler (no computers). The music they have played was based on some tracks from their 2001 release 'Abgelaufen!', some older and some new tunes, but one could only recognize some basics of these tracks, because all music happened spontaneously, was improvised. Recorded directly to stereo, a mix of an artificial head source and their mixer. Listen with headphones to experience the real atmosphere of the concert!

HIGH'N'HEAVY - WARRIOR QUEEN (BLACK) (LP/ELECTRIC VALLEY)

High'n'Heavy's album 'Warrior Queen' finds a darker side of the band. Touching more on blues and doom, but keeping with their '70s rock roots. The band has created something a little different from what some fans might be used to. Working with a new engineer/producer, Trevor Vaughan, definitely worked in their favor. As he was able to push the band to new heights while helping create a sound for the album that encompassed the theme perfectly. 8 tracks of riff heavy annihilation, 'Warrior Queen' will be the band's best offering so far. Only few available, so order fast!

IL SEGNO DEL COMANDO - L'INCANTO DELLO ZERO (LP/BLACK WIDOW)

The fourth album by this dark prog band from Italy is a concept album born from a collaboration between the band and author Cristian Raimondi. Despite the complexity of the arrangements, the band retains its typical horror/soundtrack-like sound, which has always been its mark. Guest appearances by Paul Nasch (Danse Society), Maethelyah (Blooding Mask, Danse Society) and Luca Scherani (Coscienza Di Zeno, Hostonaten).

KOTIOMKIN - (BLACK) LO ALBICOCCO AL CURARO • DECAMERON 666 (LP/SUBSOUND)

Third album by Italian band Kotiomkin. They take inspiration from the great masters of Italian soundtracks of the '60s, '70s and '80s, filtering everything through a wall of eclecticism, distortion, low frequencies and vibrations. This is another respectful stoner/psych/doom hommage to the great Italian film makers. Black vinyl version.

MISSISSIPPI BONES - (BLACK) RADIO FREE CONSPIRACY THEORY (LP/KOZMIK ARTIFACT)

As always with Mississippi Bones, you can expect a fun and infectiously groovy hard rocking adventure from start to finish. Think Clutch and Monster Truck travelling through space and time fighting aliens, reptiles and other unworldly creatures, and your only half way to understanding the joy that is Mississippi Bones.

REBELS OF TIJUANA - ASILE (LP/IT'S A GAS!/LE)

The Rebels Of Tijuana return with 'Asile', recorded by Christian Hierro. A more poetic and psychedelic pop album combined with cinematic instrumentals. Like a surrealistic love scene, a trip between past and present. Influenced by Gram Parsons and Nino Ferrer.

VIBRAVOID - LIVE AT RHEINKRAUT FESTIVAL 2018 (3LP) (LP/STONED KARMA)

Three LPs on marbled vinyl with kinetic op art cover. Live at Rheinkraut Festival Düsseldorf 2018. TRACKS: 1. Your Mind Is At Ease 2. Ballspeaker

VIBRAVOID - THE POLITICS OF ECSTASY (LP/STONED KARMA)

Deluxe 10th anniversary edition on marbled vinyl, limited to of 500 copies. After more than 15 years Düsseldorf's Vibravoid established themselves as Europe's leading psychedelic underground band, heavily rooted in 1960s underground music like Pink Floyd, The Stooges, MC5 or The Electric Prunes. Due to great albums, excessive live appearances and remarkable performances Vibravoid has won a faithful audience all over the world. Vibravoid's music is pure and unaffected by outside influences!

HEAVY MOON - _ (AKA INFINITY 2007-2018) (CD/CLOSTRIDIUM)

Heavy Moon is the deep-psychedelic, retro-prog, kosmische muzik/space-rock project of Canadian musician Jakob Rehlinger (of Moonwood, Stargoon). Rehlinger has been recording his fuzzed-out space explorations under this monicker since 2006. Curated by the well-known radio-team UndergroundÄxpärten, '_' (aka 'Infinity 2007-2018') collects 13 of Rehlinger's furthest-out, mind-altering journeys into the cosmos with one new track exclusive to the collection. Limited to 300 copies.

ARAUJO, BENTO - LINDO SONHO DELIRANTE, VOL. 2 (Bk/POEIRA PRESS)

Here is the second volume of 'Lindo Sonho Delirante' with information and commentary about 100 daring records from Brazil released between 1976 and 1985. Bento Araujo dug through his record collection, his interview archive and a large amount of articles from the musical press of the period in order to immortalize one of the most dramatic, creative and revolutionary eras of Brazilian music. In this passionate, meticulous and captivating musical research, you will find a restless, sometimes utopic, but also genuine panorama. Each album, EP or single, is accompanied by a review in Portuguese and English, and faithful reproduction of the original cover art. The author investigates the records and trajectories of both the established acts and those who did not cause much impact at the time, but today are, or can become, sought after by collectors around the world. These are records of different musical genres, which, gathered under the banner of transgression, build a daring and peculiar scene. In this second volume, the digging begins in 1976, setting out on a journey of 10 years, which concludes in 1985 with the end of the military regime in Brazil. The second half of the 1970s was a period of deep discoveries and turnarounds in Brazilian music. Among the youth, there was a desire in the air, to be free from the shackles of the dictatorship and able to start all over again. The cultural heritage from the previous decade still seemed ubiquitous: the hippie dream, the counterculture, Tropicalia, and the modernists' "anthropophagic" commandments still mattered, but the soundtrack to that scene, psychedelic rock, was transforming into an array of different sounds and attitudes. MPB found itself immersed in ideological conflicts, while independent artists worked outside of any known categories, opening new paths and turning their backs to the past, the rules of the record industry and the conventions of Anglo-American rock. This healthy dichotomy fomented the music contained in these 100 records.

GARAGE/BEAT/SURF/ROCK’N’ROLL

WILD ZEROS - SHE KNOWS/NOBODY CAN TELL US (7"/CROCODILE)

Wild Zeros got together, in Bordeaux, in 2007, when Bart (guitar/vocals) and Adrien (bass) were looking to kill time between Uni classes. A year later, they relocated to, hometown, La Rochelle, to give them more time to work on new songs, and play shows around the area, along with fellow garage band The Mean Things. The band's first 4 track 7" had just been released on Frantic City, and Zerosmania was about to explode, as rock and roll historians will surely remember. The band put out a couple more records including a 10 track 10" and toured in the UK, Spain and Germany, before going on hiatus. 2017 saw the boys reuniting with drummer, Francois (Magnetix, Wylde Tryfles, Second Swingers) and duly celebrating their 10 years together with some New York shows. Now Zerosmania is back. Following a release on the Nerve Centre label, the boys are proud to offer another with Crocodile Records, (Manchester, UK). Two tracks recorded last summer at Lo'Spiders, Swampland Studios in Toulouse. It has a '70s punk feel with Teenage Head and DMZ written all over it. 300 copies only.

CATCH AS CATCH CAN - REGULAR VANILLA (LP/ALIEN SNATCH!)

A cool delivery of gumball garage-punk from Berlin. 'Regular Vanilla' stacks one hook on top of the other, features a loose '70s Schmuddelfilm organ, and is wry doo-wop flavoured with two spoonfuls of psychoflippin' jukebox rock'n'roll thrown in for good measure. The LP includes a double-sided poster.

POP/ROCK/WAVE/NOISE

BRYAN'S MAGIC TEARS - 4AM (LP/BORN BAD)

Bryan's Magic Tears was launched by Benjamin Dupont (Dame Blanche), which features members and ex-members of La Secte Du Futur and Marietta. If listening to Bryan's Magic Tears brings the '90s to mind, it's not because of the sound but because of a state of mind that was peculiar to the time and to this particular moment in adolescence. This carefree, jaded spleen perfectly depicted in Gregg Araki's films or in songs by Sebadoh, Beat Happening or Nirvana - or even in this famous line from Lou Reed's 'Romeo Had Juliet': "It's hard to give a shit these days." In short, a record that makes you wish you were 18 again. How many bands could be talked about like that, these days?

INDUSTRIAL/EXPERIMENTAL/NOISE/NEOFOLK/GOTHIC

CHAUVEAU, SYLVAIN - PIANISME (LP/SUB ROSA)

This selection of short pieces showcases what might be Chauveau's musical signature: quietness, slow pace, long resonances, a close as possible to silence. Music to be played at night.

DEAD GUM - META (BLACK) (LP/BACKWARDS)

'Meta', Dead Gum's sophomore studio album, constituted a challenge for its maker. While 'Gainer' -its predecessor- hollered for awareness and singularity, this one indulges into multi-layered, ambiguous narratives tracing an impossible duality. With abiding influences that distance him from conspicuous contemporary norms, Panagiotis Spoulos creates a nocturnal, desolate sound collage, invoking a meta-purpose for a/the current status quo. The public character of the endeavour is almost jostled by the privateness of the overall statement; the invitation thus corresponds to a peek into a baffled brain and a rove around gradual levels of muffled alarm calls and grimy smells. 'Meta' is no post-something. 'Meta' merely stands half foot ahead of absolute nothingness, the true end of it all. Limited to 200 copies on black vinyl.

MARTELLOTTA, MASSIMO - ONE MAN SESSIONS, VOL. 4: UNDERWATER (LP/CINEDELIC)

The fourth volume in this series of releases from the founder and guitarist of Calibro 35 once again focuses on his experiments rooted in a deep passion for soundtracks and library music.

ORSI, FABIO - STERMINATO PIANO (LP/BACKWARDS)

This album is different from his previous releases, but is always touched by that talent and crystalline class that distinguishes him. 'Sterminato Piano' settles among the best things of Fabio Orsi, but also in some ways, among the most unexpected and original. After eight years in Berlin, his return to Puglia (south of Italy) is restoring new life and new creativity and new energy. In fact, the album is full of energy and warmth, with patterns, sequences and dancefloor beats of our dreams. Limited to 175 copies on orange vinyl.

SILENT CARNIVAL - SOMEWHERE (BLACK) (LP/BACKWARDS)

'Somewhere' is the third album from Silent Carnival, the sonic creature that Marco Giambrone raised since 2012. Production, recordings and mixing was managed by Giambrone himself. Recorded between January and February 2018 in the home-studio based in Cammarata (Sicily), 'Somewhere' confirms band members and constant collaborators Alfonso De Marco, Caterina Fede and Andrea Serrapiglio adding new musicians like Stefano De Ponti, Luca Andriolo and Luca Serrapiglio. This is an album about visions, dreams and premonitions with many different vibes, widening the colour palette than in the past. Less drones and more acoustic instruments to dress a songwriting free from fences of music genre. A changing sound, like the "Calvary" procession that combines the Sicilian Easter's lamentations with the pagan vibes of unknown worlds. The confessions without absolution of "Innocence" and the desert in the backyard of "Somewhere" only confirm the intimate and at the same time merciless attitude of this album. Limited to 200 copies on black vinyl.

METAL/STONER/HARDROCK

HAIR OF THE DOG - (BLACK) THE ROAD TO ROADBURN - LIVE (LP/KOZMIK ARTIFACT)

Scottish rock power trio Hair Of The Dog's first live album! Recorded during their 2016 appearance at the legendary Roadburn Festival, this record brings the live energy to all their fans across the globe for the very first time.

MOUNTAIN DUST - SEVEN STORMS (BLACK) (LP/KOZMIK ARTIFACT)

Montreal's Mountain Dust return in 2018 with a powerful sophomore album entitled 'Seven Storms'. The band is on track to further differentiate themselves from the modern rock herd with even more diverse instrumentation and song writing prowess than their first effort, 2016's 'Nine Year'. Seven Storms remains rooted in the heavy rock styles that emerged in the late 1960s/early 70s but uniquely includes references to emotive soundscapes and cinematic "Spaghetti Western" scores. Vocalist Brendan Mainville continues to use descriptive imagery and clever storytelling to paint vivid pictures of both pain and triumph.

SPACELORD - INDECIPHER (BLACK) (LP/KOZMIK ARTIFACT)

Spacelord is a four-headed beast from Buffalo, New York. They unleash a cosmic blast of radioactive rock, fashioned in the manner of our ancestors: Zeppelin, Sabbath, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and a rogue's gallery of unorthodox heroes too. Their second LP 'Indecipher' sees the band exploring frenetic starship adventures, ominous riffs, haunting screams, and sleazy cyberpunk disco. The lyrics craft a dark prophecy from the band's myriad fantasy, horror, and sci-fi influences.

SOUL/FUNK/LATIN/R&B/GOSPEL

DANCEFLOOR STOMPERS - LIBRERIE MUSICALI (LP/FOUR FLIES)

When soul-jazz meets Italian cinematic style. 10 cool tracks from a super-groovy combo powered by an explosive horn section and a stunning strings orchestra. Music for a TV series that has not yet been written... 100% black and cinematic groove!

SOUNDTRACKS/LOUNGE/CULT ETC

DE ANGELIS, GUIDO & MAURIZIO - L'ALLENATORE NEL PALLONE (7"/FOUR FLIES)

First time on 7" for this Italian cult soccer comedy OST, featuring an unreleased extended edit of the samba-tune 'Mundialito'. Limited to 500 copies.

PICCIONI, PIERO - (BLUE COVER) RIGHT OR WRONG/ONCE AND AGAIN (7"/FOUR FLIES)

Two gorgeous soul ballads composed for the title sequences of two Italian-Spanish thrillers, both magnificently sung by Shawn Robinson's divine voice. Special ultra-limited collector's edition of 133 copies with blue label and sleeve.

UMILIANI, PIERO - BABA YAGA (CYAN COVER) (7"/FOUR FLIES)

Four Flies 45s Serie strikes back with this unmissable Piero Umiliani double-filler, featuring the only two tracks ('Open Space' and 'Slogan') survived from the score of 'Baba Yaga', a pop-mystery movie inspired by the 'Valentina' comic books of Guido Crepax. Limited to 250 copies with cyan sleeve and purple label.

ALESSANDRONI, ALESSANDRO - BACKGROUND DISCO (12"/FOUR FLIES)

Two disco jewels signed by Maestro Alessandroni for an obscure Italian sexy-comedy in 1976, presented here in a new edit on 12" designed for the dancefloor.

STRINGERS - VOL. 2: MONKEY!! (LP/DOGHOUSE & BONE)

VARIOUS - STRIP-O-RAMA, VOL. 3 (+CD) (LP/JUKEBOX MUSIC FACTORY)

Perhaps the densest (and most scandalous) compilation yet by the ever daring El Vidocq. Already a third folding album that opens to teasingly reveal more sumptuous "strip music" morsels. Indeed, the 1950s and '60s represent an inexhaustible source of delicious tunes, most of which just never hit it off with the media or masses. Once again, our indefatigable connoisseur raises the curtain on an arousing series of smooth tunes, with their languid rhythms, well-rounded melodies and cheeky grooves. An exciting mix of styles struts its stuff in various states of undress: rockabilly (Rusty & Doug Kershaw, Clyde Stacy), pop (Betty Reilly, Ella Johnson), crooner (Louis Jordan), rock (Chuck Miller), swing jazz (Joanie Sommers), burlesque (The Ramcocks), r'n'b (Gino Parks)... An eminently naughty selection of musical gems to peel off one by one. SIDE 1: 1. Louis Jordan - Hardhead 2. Chuck Miller - Lockout Mountain 3. Bob Roubian - Not Much Of A Future, But Man What A Past 4. Clyde Stacy - So Young 5. Rusty & Doug - Hey Mae 6. Gino Parks - Talkin' About My Baby 7. Betty Reilly - I Think Of You 8. Joanie Sommers - Why Don't You Do Right SIDE 2: 1. Wayne Cochran - The Coo 2. The Don Palmer Quintet - Lolita 3. Morgus & The 3 Ghouls - Morgus The Magnificient 4. The Wanderers - Shadrach Meshac And Abednego 5. Ella Johnson - Well Do it 6. The Ramrocks - Lasagna 7. The Allisons - Surfer Street 8. Elliott Shaver - Yon Ne Go
