KRAUS, SHARRON - JOY'S REFLECTION IS SORROW (LP/SUNSTONE)

Modern folk connoisseurs Sunstone Records (Kontiki Suite, Moth Effect) present the latest LP from Sharron Kraus. It's a typically eerie set of songs from Kraus, taking in English and Appalachian traditions as well as influences from magick and Gothic literature. With her acoustic guitar and send-shivers-up-your-spine voice front-and-centre, Kraus incorporates everything from droning electronics to flutes across these eight entries. Reminiscent of Chelsea Wolfe. Limited to 200 copies on clear-frosted vinyl.

SEABUCKTHORN - A HOUSE WITH TOO MUCH FIRE (LP/BOOKMAKER)

'A House With Too Much Fire' is UK guitarist Andy Cartwright's 9th release under the alias Seabuckthorn. Heavily influenced by mountain terrain after relocating to the Southern Alps, Andy has experimented further with raw guitar sounds in bowing, fingerpicking and the use of slides, bringing a wider channelling of atmospherics and textures. Recorded in late 2017 and with the wood burner always in use, most song parts were captured in one take providing a spontaneous feel, focusing on loose, minimal improvisations which are apparent somewhat in Seabuckthorn's live performances. With the addition of banjo, clarinet and synthesiser to occasionally accompany the guitars, this release wonderfully reflects the surroundings in which it was created.

BRIGHT, GREGORY - ROOM BY GREG (LP/AUDIO ARCHIVES)

One of the rarest hippie-folk artefacts to emerge from the shadowy world of UK private-pressings is this remarkable recording from 1969 by Greg Bright reissued for the first time on heavy 180 gram vinyl, limited to 300 individually numbered copies. You will not find a more quintessentially English composition than this idiosyncratic masterpiece. Twelve homespun exquisite songs full of melancholy and charm from the quaint, cricket-inspired offering 'The Oval' to the equally English 'The Pub & The Park' and on to the closing lament 'The Candle Of Your Arms'. A most precious album that will no doubt appeal to lovers of Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen, COB etc.

JUD'S GALLERY - 1972/1974 (2LP) (LP/LONGHAIR)

For the first time on vinyl, this is one of Long Hairs' classic items. Jud's Gallery recorded nine long tracks over two studio sessions in 1972 and 1974. Excellent intelligent progressive krautrock, drenched in occasional classic and heavy blues rock. These songs have been digitally remastered from the original tape to perfect studio quality. Jud's Gallery's epic instrumental passages are dominated by great guitar, organ and violin playing, supported by the excellent bass player and band founder Jürgen "Judy" Winter and drummer Sibi Siebert (later of Twelve Drummers Drumming fame). Includes the classic 'Nordrach' (12 minutes), which apparently influenced the theme of Gary Moore's 'Still Got The Blues'. This double album comes with a 13 minute bonustrack called 'New Day's Dawning', recorded in 1975 with guitarist Helmut Krieg of Sperrmüll fame. Comes with a lot of photos and four-sided insert with full band story.

ALTIN GÜN - TATLI DILE GULER YUZE/HABABAM (7"/BONGO JOE)

Another 7" by Turkish/Dutch psych heroes. The A side features the killer first song of their album and the B side features the unheard instrumental track 'Hababam'.

ACID MOTHERS TEMPLE & THE MELTING PARAISO U.F.O. - ELECTRIC DREAM ECSTASY (LP/ESSENCE MUSIC)

With a renewed and strong rhythm section featuring two young and extremely talented Japanese musicians -Satoshima Nani on drums and Wolf on bass- and the one-of-a-kind vocalist Jyonson Tsu, the master guru Kawabata Makoto is clearly re-energized and totally in sync with his cosmos. 'Electric Dream Ecstasy' encompasses one of the absolute best moments of this legendary Japanese psychedelic rock group. From the soon-to-become-a-classic wild, yet beautifully composed opening track 'From Planet Orb With Love' to the utterly different 'Pink Lady Lemonade' versions. One acoustic with pastoral, complex string arrangements, ghostly synths and harmonica and a side-long epic proto-disco composition heavily held down by the new rhythm section and its Kraut-influenced hypnotic repetition. Crossing the borders of improvisation and moving towards free composition, 'Electric Dream Ecstasy' is a true landmark from one of the most beloved bands of all time. Limited to 200 copies on 180 gram black vinyl. Housed on screenprinted heavy-weight black stock sleeve with gold ink. Utterly different artwork from the CD edition displaying amazing visuals by Penabranca.

DRUIDS OF THE GUÉ CHARETTE - ALL THE DARKNESS LOOKS ALIVE (LP/BEAST)

After centuries secretly spent by cultivating their obscure rites, the rumor gradually spreads that the Druids of the Gué Charette sect would have found, in Western amplified music, a conductive vector to the diffusion of its mysterious cult. Indeed, each of his performances is a celebration of the hidden forces of the universe, a veneration brought to the invisible powers of electricity as well as a tribute to the primordial noise, central element of a cosmogony with forgotten origins. Unaware of the labels themselves, the Druids allow insiders and rock critics to identify heavy-psych, garage or even post-punk dimensions on occasion. 'All The Darkness Looks Alive' is the Druids' second LP on Beast Records.

EVIL USSES - MUCK (10") (LP/STOLEN BODY)

Following the release of their 2016 album, 'Amateur Pro Wrestling', The Evil Usses are back with this 10" mini-album. Their eponymous debut saw them working with Jim Barr (Portishead/Get the Blessing) and 'Amateur Pro Wrestling' was produced by Deerhoof guitarist John Dieterich.

FATHER MURPHY - RISING. A REQUIEM FOR FATHER MURPHY (2LP) (LP/AVANT!)

Composed in the classical 'Requiem' format, 'Rising' follows the 'Trilogy Of The Cross', a series of records that recounts the journey of the fictional character Father Murphy, and subsequently the band itself. The album was mixed and mastered by long-time collaborator Gregory Saunier (Deerhoof), who is instrumental in helping craft Father Murphy's sonic descent over the years. 45 rpm black vinyl double LP, comes in gatefold sleeve!

SONS OF ALPHA CENTAURI - CONTINUUM (+CD) (LP/H42)

Over a decade ago, the debut album of Sons of Alpha Centauri was released. Now here is finally their second full-length album! Produced, mixed and engineered by Aaron Harris of the legendary post metal titans Isis and mastered by John McBain (Monster Magnet). White vinyl. Includes CD. A co-release by Robustfellow Prods. (Ukraine), H42 Records (Germany), Cobraside Distribution Inc. (USA), Electric Valley Records (Italy) and CODE 7 Distribution (UK).

YAWNING MAN - (BLACK) THE REVOLT AGAINST TIRED NOISES (LP/HEAVY PSYCH SOU)

The songs on Yawning Man's 6th full-length release are described as "an emotional and visceral expression of pure melodic darkness and beauty". The album was recorded at Gato Trail Studios in Joshua Tree, CA and produced and engineered by friend and long time collaborator, Mathias Schneeberger (Mark Lanegan, Greg Duli, SUNN O))), Earth, The Obsessed). The eight songs offered here are the results of a conscious focus to the poetry in melody, finding new sounds and melodic passages that conjure visuals and express emotion and movement. Six of the eight songs are in the instrumental tradition the band is mostly know for however two tracks feature the rare appearance of a vocalist (bassist Mario Lalli) alongside Gary Arce's dream weaving guitar work. Black vinyl version.

SOLUS - SATYA YUGA (CD/R.A.I.G.)

Solus is a studio project creating multi-layered complex yet accessible instrumental hybrid-rock music blending influences from different times and places. The project is based in Calgary, Canada and operated by Devin Thompson who draws inspiration from Hindu and Middle Eastern music, psychedelic, stoner, and progressive rock.

BLOWN OUT - SUN ROT (LP/RIOT SEASON)

Originally released on cassette on Riot Season's sister label Swap Meat. 'Sun Rot' was recorded to tape and was very lo-fi in nature. Riot Season rescued the original tapes and have tweaked them for vinyl ever so slightly, but it very much remains the lo-fi classic it once was.

RÜFFER, KAI -FRACTAL BAND- - I (CD/EXO10)

Modern jazzrock with Scandinavian vibes and rock influences! Kai Rüffer - Bass, Justin Hombach - Gitarre, Winfried Rimbach-Sator - Piano, Keys Steffen Uhrhan - Schlagzeug

GARAGE/BEAT/SURF/ROCK’N’ROLL

MOTIVES - THE WORLD IS A TRAPEZIUM (7"/MILKCOW)

The Motives were formed by five British servicemen, who were stationed at the RAF in West Germany and released an EP 'The World Is A Trapezium' on the Dutch Telstar label. Recorded in 1967, only 120 copies were pressed, thus making this an extremely rare and near impossible to find EP. Four brilliant psych garage freakbeat songs with killer lead guitars courtesy of Tom Winter, later of Opus. Official reissue, approved by the original bandmembers and with superb sound quality, as we're used from the Milkcow label - this is not to be missed.

ELECTRIC NETTLES - LONG LIVE THE GALACTIC EMPIRE PART 1 (LP/BEAST)

Do you remember The Druids of The Gué Charette? The Electric Nettles share one side of a split record with them ('Electric Druidism', Beast Records BR217). Pretty sure you also enjoyed 'All The Darkness Looks Alive' (Druids of The Gué Charette, Beast Records, BR250). So who the fuck are The Electric Nettles? Easy: they're also the Druids of The Gué Charette. Are you ready for a heavy fuzz psych garage trip?

AUTORAMAS - LIBIDO (LP/SOUNDFLAT)

With 'Libido', the Brazilian group returns to their raw, punky roots that by all means need to be enjoyed at maximum volume!

NEATBEATS - OPERATION THE BEAT (LP/SOUNDFLAT)

Here comes another hit-record by Japan's kings of '60s beat. Their elaborate songwriting and authentic vintage recordings add up to their fabulous signature-sound, that we know and love from their previous records. Whether it is wild instrumentals like 'Winkle Picker' or fun dancin' tunes like 'It's My Friday' or 'Sweet Cherry Pie', you definitely won't sit still listening to these songs.

PLATINUM BOYS - WE DON'T DANCE (7"/SIX TONNES DE C)

Milwaukee's Platinum Boys deliver a musical punch that's no joke. Their paint-huffing, sweat-soaked garage matrimony of Thin Lizzy and the Buzzcocks summons the spirit of the past 50 years of rock'n'roll in a uniquely 21st century American way. 200 copies on black vinyl. Hand screen printed cover.

MR. AIRPLANE MAN - JACARANDA BLUE (LP/BEAST)

After a 13-year break from the road, the legendary two-woman garage blues combo Mr. Airplane Man is back with their sexiest, most sublime, soul-bending grooves on their 2018 long-player, 'Jacaranda Blue'. Recorded in a magical shack right on the beach north of San Francisco, 'Jacaranda Blue' is full of ocean California sunshine and Mr. Airplane Man's unique dark sounds.

DECIBELS - BIG HITS (PLUS 12 MORE) (LP/SCREAMING APPLE)

'Big Hits (Plus Twelve More!)' finds the Decibels channeling their own brand of guitar pop (elements of The Beat, The Romantics, The Plimsouls, the mod-era Who with a pinch of the Jam, but squeezed through their own filter that gives them their own sound) with 13 tracks cultivated from the occasional cover tunes they'd pepper their blistering live set with throughout their history. Armed with impeccable taste, on 'Big Hits! (Plus Twelve More!)' they power through tunes from The Saints, The Nerves, Status Quo, The Long Ryders, The Flamin' Groovies, The Creation, 20/20, obscure 80's bands The Wombats and The New Breed, and they throw tunes by Goffin/King, Lennon/McCartney, and Pete Townshend in the mix for good measure, and then wrap it up with a New Kids on the Block (!) tune!

SLEEPWALKERZ - SLEEPER TOWN (LP/BEAST)

The debut-album by the Sleepwalkerz blends rockabilly, punk rock and country, resulting in an eclectic and original rock'n'roll delivery. Sit in your rocking chair, poor a glass of Jack Daniels and, most importantly, play it very, very loud!

ANITA O'NIGHT & THE MERCURY TRIO FT. PHIL MORGAN - RIVER GOLD/GAME OF LOVE (7"/SLEAZY)

After being part of numerous bands, such as Bang Bang, Quasars, Brioles, Emma Lewis & The BCN Fireballs, Anita, Xavi, Pedro and Fran strive to compose a mainly original repertoire that sounds bold as well as classic. Their main feature is their convincing and electricifying sound exuding 1950's rock'n'roll, rockabilly, country and hot jazz (hey, Anita O'Day!), as well as the purest Cliff Gallup style bop '56. Besides, Anita's heartrending voice evokes not only Janis Martin's (the female Elvis) way, but also that of other irresistible queens of the genre as Charline Arthur or Sparkle Moore.

BIG SANDY VS. DEKE DICKERSON - JESUS & GRAVY (7"/SLEAZY)

'THE BOUT OF THE CENTURY!!' - Two heavy weight rounds for the CHAMPIONSHIP! TRACKS: 1. Big Sandy: 'Make A Little Time For Jesus' 2. Deke Dickerson: 'Get The Gravy Hot (It's Goin' On My Potater)'

ROSWELL, STERLING -QUARTET- - THE LONESOME DEATH OF JOHNNY ACE (10") (10"/TRASH WAX)

The Sterling Roswell Quartet. Sterling Roswell (Spacemen 3, The Darkside), Jim Sclavunos (N.Cave & Badseeds, Grinderman and The Cramps), Matt Radford (Neanderthals, Panasonics Etc, Etc) & Steve Donnelly. An atmospheric tale of 50's R&B star Johnny Ace who blew his brains out playing Russian Roulette on X-Mas day 1954. The flip has `Ramblin Woman' featuring `Manuela' on vocals, a haunting tale of a woman's loneliness and a truly `out there' version of the Charlie Feathers classic `I Can't Hardly Stand It' which manages to out Cramps The Cramps_..Rockabilly dragged screaming into the 21st Century.

VARIOUS - BEAT FROM BADSVILLE, VOL. 4 (CD/STAG-O-LEE)

'EVEN MORE TRASH CLASSICS FROM LUX & IVY'S VINYL MOUNTAIN' - This 24-track collection positively effervesces with eccentricity. Again it is divided into 4 themes: 'The Rock'n'Rollers', 'New Dance Trend', 'Instrumentals' and 'The Mad Daddies'. Every track pirouettes dangerously and at times hap hazardly around the expected. These are songs for strange times by what can definitely be considered strange people. Gems and nuggets that sparkle even more bright in today's manufactured music maelstrom. TRACKS: 'The Rock'n'Rollers' 01. Gary Link & The Rock-A-Fellas - Rhythm Rock 02. Buddy Starr & The Starliners - Hold It 03. The Saints - Call My Name 04. Jamie Coe - Summertime 05. POP/ROCK/WAVE/NOISE

TRAFFIC - FIRST EXIT (LP/VOGON)

Steve Winwood formed Traffic with Jim Capaldi, Dave Mason, and Chris Wood in 1967. In the spirit of the times, the group was intended to be a cooperative, with the members living together in a country cottage in Berkshire and collaborating on their songs. Signed to Island Records their single 'Paper Sun,' peaked in the U.K. Top Five in July 1967 and also spent several weeks in the lower reaches of the charts in America. Traffic toured Europe in the summer of '67 and the live recording that comprises this album was made for radio broadcast, this time in Sweden at Radiohuset, Stockholm on Sept. 12th, 1967. It has been newly mastered for vinyl. SIDE 1: 1. Giving To You 2. Smiling Phases 3. Coloured Rain 4. Hole In My Shoe SIDE 2: 1. Feelin' Good 2. Paper Sun 3. Dear Mr Fantasy

DEATH BELLS - STANDING AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD (LP/AVANT!)

European edition of the marvellous debut album by the Sydney-based romantic post-punk six-piece Death Bells. The album is an impressively developed debut, combining elements of searing post-punk and shimmering dreampop into a sound that brings a modern take to the best of the '80s. Vacillating between searing post-punk and morose pop, their sound does away with theatrics, toying only at the fray of contemplative songwriting. Black vinyl LP limited to 250 copies, comes with new artwork and insert.

INDUSTRIAL/EXPERIMENTAL/NOISE/NEOFOLK/GOTHIC

ABATE, MAURIZIO - THE MAADI SESSIONS (LP/BACKWARDS)

"During my first visit in the Maadi district in Cairo, Egypt, I was especially struck by the sounds, so I recorded some of them over my following stay, and I tried to mix them with my electric guitar, a sort of conversation between the inner world and the outside one. During the sessions in my friend Alberto's house, I also experimented new techniques and effects on the guitar, approaching the instrument in a broader sense. The sessions originated the pieces on this record, which also feature a collaboration with Alberto Boccardi on one track, named after his house and headquarters of Canale Undici." ~Maurizio Abate.

CASE, BRIAN - PLAYS PARADISE ARTIFICIAL (LP/HANDS IN THE DA)

Case's third album somehow manages to compile and condense the best bits of its predecessors, and the magnificent viridian, glacial universe, developed by him since the beginning of his solo ventures, is brought to the forefront. The Chicago artist centres his elusive, dehumanised compositions around two simple, minimal elements. Using just vocals and synths, he has created a simultaneously modern and post-apocalyptic soundtrack, where music exists as the final traces of the footsteps of humanity.

DE FABRIEK - SCHAFTTIJDSAMBA (LP/BURKA FOR EVERY)

Reissue of the first De Fabriek album originally self-released in 1982. A masterpiece of minimal experimental music. It has been remastered and includes a new artwork done by the band. Limited edition of 300 copies. The digital download includes 2 songs that have been removed from the vinyl edition due to the actual lenght limits. De Fabriek (The Factory) hails from the Dutch City of Zwolle and started in December 1977 as a collective project. Their goal was to do minimal experimental music and you could see this minimal thing in the products themselves - limited handmade copies with special packages. They have been for years experimenting with music and creating different soundscapes, not involving with any stream, wave, or trend what so ever.

DEADLINE PARANOIA - 1/3 (LP/ONGEHOORD)

This band was active in Amsterdam from 1986 till 1988. Their cassette releases were self distributed and due to the fact that they only played live on WHS (dub squat radio) and on the corner of the street during a national celebration day (queens day) they have remained very unknown. The music was recorded at home with a great variety of instruments and self made sound explorations. Except the drummer of this band, he was the only one who has been recorded in a sound studio in a suburb called De Bijlmer. The other musicians would record tapes with sound material, drones, field recordings etc. These sound recordings could be seen as sound collages. They played live with different instruments like bass guitar, acoustic bass, clarinet, radio, synthesizer, bongo, surna, organ etc. the list is endless. Each musician would be responsible for playing 4 instruments and during a few tracks there has been a number of 8 musicians who joined the jam sessions. The layering of sound and rhythms create a rather complicated sense of rhythm that one will experience while listening to the music of Deadline Paranoia. The psychedelic structure of the music also comes from the fact that the use of drugs has been very important for the musicians playing in the band. The band would smoke marijuana for at least a few hours before playing instruments. It was described as a functional use of drugs to be able to play the music the way they felt it.

LASWELL, BILL/NICHOLAS JAMES BULLEN - BASS TERROR (LP/SUB ROSA)

This recording features the dark side of Bill Laswell at the peak of his art in 1995. The piece is not from a collaboration, it was designed alone in his studio in Brooklyn. Laswell's 'Bass Terror Tetragrammaton' is also to be linked to an alchemical process. Bullen's 'Nocturnal Crawl' is a totally hypnotic piece, the first that Nik Bullen designed outside of Napalm Death and Scorn. The two pieces answer each other strangely, like two sides of the same hidden anxiety. The concept of this series was the confrontation of electric guitars as the tutelary instrument, but here and this time only, it came out of bassists confronting each other. Never released before as LP vinyl. Available here as a 400 copies limited red vinyl.

MOORE, AARON -& ERIK K. SKODVIN- - INSTEAD OF RAIN I BRING A HAT (LP/HANDS IN THE DA)

'Instead Of Rain I Bring A Hat' is a long-distance collaboration between the UK's Aaron Moore (Volcano The Bear, Gospel Of Mars, duo with Alan Courtis) and Norwegian Erik K. Skodvin (Svarte Greiner, Deaf Center, B/B/S). It developed gently, taking its full form over the space of nearly 6 years. The project began with e-mail exchanges of fragmented sounds and ideas - on the piano, cello, drums, harp, vocals, homemade and electronic instruments. Their experimental correspondence eventually blossomed and grew into an exquisite, fully-fledged album of brooding cinematic compositions. Through 7 songs, Moore and Skodvin lead us through complex, haunted, minimalistic pieces. They are surreal, sonically fascinating and deeply moving. A very special and original album in both its conception and result - definitely one of a kind in the HITD discography.

RILEY, TERRY/DON CHERRY DUO - TERRY RILEY/DON CHERRY DUO (LP/B.FREE)

Unreleased sessions from original tapes! Minimalist composer Terry Riley premiered his work 'In C' in 1964, a big influence on minimalism in contemporary composition and on subsequent works by composers like Philip Glass, Steve Reich and John Adams. 1967's 'A Rainbow In Curved Air' and its companion piece 'Poppy Nogood And The Phantom Band' -both mixing repetition, electronics and tape-manipulation- were often performed in marathon, trance-inducing performances, and Riley was regarded a cult musician in avantgarde rock music circles. This LP presents two radio sessions recorded 1975 in Cologne, newly remastered from the original tapes for optimal sound. Terry Riley: organ, Don Cherry: trumpet, tambura. Limited to 300 copies.

BACALOV, DANIEL - 1985/5 IL LADRO DI ANIME/DIARIO... (2LP) (LP/SOAVE)

...SEGRETO CONTRAFFATTO' - Daniel Bacalov, composer of music for theater, cinema, and dance, studied classical guitar and percussion. He composed the music of numerous theatrical performances represented in many international theatre festivals. His first two publications on LP were 'Il Ladro Di Anime', presented at the Venice Biennial of 1984 and 'Diario Segreto Contrattato'. Soave is pleased to offer these two fundamental documents of the period, reprinting them for the first time in a limited edition on double LP. The compositions are mainly structured on ethnic percussions played in a masterly manner, accompanied by acoustic guitars and synths of the time, in particular the DX7 and PPG Wave. The dictated rhythm unites the show as a universal and indeterminate single body. In those years the theater in Italy broke from its usual codes, mixing "high" and "low" culture, introducing a new language and new reflections, redefining the theatrical event and the need to investigate all the territories of creativity; in this panorama the sounds and the musics assumed a central importance that today remain the most concrete testimony of that extremely creative experimental period.

DAME AREA - CENTRO DI GRAVITA (LP/BURKA FOR EVERY)

First offering from this duo which operates between two poles: industrial tribalism and synthetic minimalism. For fans of Malaria, Liasons Dangerouses, Suicide, Muslimgauze... Just listen and enjoy the travel into a jungle of cables, wires and grease. Limited to 300 copies.

PSEUDO CODE - NEXT ONE'S CALLED (LP/SUB ROSA)

Belgian electronic improvised music band, active from 1980 to 1982, featuring Xavier Ess (Thrills), Guy-Marc Hinant and Alain Neffe (Insane Music, Bene Gesserit). This is Pseudocode in a kind of free form minimal electronic concrete mood. There's even the odd suggestion of a pop tune here and there, maybe even some danceable beats; if you've got one leg shorter than the other.

FAFCHAMPS, JEAN-LUC - H1KHH2WM (DU SEUIL), A FIVE-LETTER SUFI WORD (CD/SUB ROSA)

Third chapter in the Sufi Word's series. "The Sufi Letters is a vast project of 28 compositions (for the 28 letters of the Arabic alphabet) undertaken in 2000 and still ongoing. I am drawing inspiration from the symbolic charts found in Sufi mysticism. Each Letter is a sonic meditation on the frontiers of conscience and the paradoxes of time. Today's word, 'Du Seuil' (from the threshold), is the third word released by Sub Rosa. It is a journey of sort through grief: stages of conscience, journey through hell, nocturnal anxieties, meditation, resilience. Do not worry too much though, for isn't it from the distance of death that one can shine the best light on life? Isn't all grief also a threshold?" ~JLF. Featuring Ensemble Musiques Nouvelles Centre Henri Pousseur conducted by Jean-Paul Dessy. TRACKS: 1. H1 13'23 2. Kh 18'02 3. H2 13'43 4. W 10'16 5. M 10'24

ANENZEPHALIA - MAGENTA (2LP/BLACK) (LP/TESCO)

'THIS COLOUR OF HELLISH AGENTS AND FORGOTTEN YEARS' - 'Magenta' collects all the tracks that Anenzephalia has been playing live for over two decades, but were never released. Most of the tracks will seem or sound familiar but you won't find them on studio album releases. It's a like a continuing journey through the abyss of Anenzephalia.

GENOCIDE ORGAN - MIND CONTROL (+7") (LP/TESCO)

'Mind Control' was the third official full-lenght release of Genocide Organ, released in 1995. At that time released in a vinyl edition of only 490 copies as Tesco 025, 'Mind Control' features a lot well known GO classics in its studio versions. This release stands out in the band's history in its minimal appoach but also being the first "studio" recorded album. The track 'Murder' was left out the original master due to its lenght and is featured here for the first time on an extra one-sided 7" with an etched B-side. Limited to 500 copies.

DEATH PANEL - AGE OF INSIGNIFICANCE (CD/TESCO)

After 2 contributions on the well-known compilations 'Projekt Neue Ordnung 2' and 'After Work Pop Songs For Childsoldiers', Tesco Germany releases Deathpanel's first full-length CD. 'Age Of Insignificance' contains 8 tracks, inspired by a hypocritical society in which the lie is heard more than the truth, a society where you will be put on the pranger if you stand for a different opinion, a society which is so fed up that they forgot where they come from. German industrial and power electronics which spreads a dark and hopeless atmosphere featuring abstract rhythms, buzzing basses and aggressive sound collages.

TUNNELS OF AH - CHARNEL TRANSMISSIONS (CD/COLD SPRING)

Inspired by the 'chime and gong stations' recordings of the Cold War era, 'Charnel Transmissions' sets out to evoke rather than recreate the alienated spirit(s) of those recordings. With the ritual percussion of Francis P. weaving throughout the album alongside cracked electronics, 'Charnel Transmissions' is a disquieting spiral into an ashen world of 'mythostatic psychopomp' where this world is transformed into a charnel ground of gods, ghosts and jackals. Crumbling drones, splintered bursts of noise and buried voices make 'Charnel Transmissions' unconventional and non-linear, much like those charnel dwellers who seek out the lowest to attain the highest. For lovers of ceremonial sounds and dark places.

C.3.3. - BALLAD OF READING GAOL - THE CACOPHONIETTA (CD/COLD SPRING)

C.3.3. is a personal project from Paul Jamrozy, co-founder of original industrial agitators TEST DEPT. The work is inspired by the real life experience of Her Majesty's Prison Reading. Tracing the history of the location through to the present current political and social situation, evoking the harsh realities of Victorian and modern day Britain. Reminiscent of the finest mid-era TEST DEPT., such as 'Gododdin' or 'Pax Britannica', with heavy percussion, strings, and strident vocals. The title C.3.3. is drawn from the cell number where the literary figure Oscar Wilde was incarcerated in Reading Gaol under gross indecency charges. C.3.3. was the pseudonym used for the publication 'The Ballad Of Reading Gaol', a poem based on the execution of a fellow inmate. This sonic rendition draws upon the writings of Wilde's poem and the horrors of prison life for a condemned man, as a metaphor for the universal predicament of all humankind. Remastered with 2 bonus tracks, featuring TEST DEPT. and presented in a 6-panel digipak.

NESMITH, MICHAEL - LOOSE SALUTE (LP/SUNDAZED)

The second LP from Michael Nesmith and the First National Band! 'Loose Salute' features the country-rock pioneer's hit single 'Silver Moon' alongside dreamy, near-psychedelic studies on western motifs and melodies, funky swamp sounds, and straight-up country readings in the inimitable Nesmith style - a strong, sophomore salute! 'Loose Salute' continues on the country rock road of 'Magnetic South', rocking even harder in places, while adding a tinge of Latin rhythm. Taped from April through July of 1970, the album catches Nesmith in his transition from honky-tonk hitmaker to studio born perfectionist.

NESMITH, MICHAEL - MAGNETIC SOUTH (LP/SUNDAZED)

The heralded (true!) solo debut of Michael Nesmith! 'Magnetic South' features the artist's hybrid of cowboy-n-western country music and rock sensibilities, highlighted by 'Joanne,' one of the earliest singles with the California-country sound to become a major hit record. In his solo debut as a recording artist, Michael Nesmith breaks ground with his First National Band on 'Magnetic South', waxing eleven country-rock classics. Taped at RCA's Hollywood Studios in February 1970 directly after his departure from The Monkees, the album thematically opens Nesmith's First National American trilogy of blue, red and white albums (with a trademark needle point sleeve designed by none other than Dean Torrence). Comes on blue vinyl.

NESMITH, MICHAEL - NEVADA FIGHTER (LP/SUNDAZED)

The third LP from a Nudie-suit wearing father ofcountry-rock! 'Nevada Fighter' completes a trilogy of LPs by Michael Nesmith and the First National Band, augmented by members of Elvis' '70s touring band and other Wrecking Crew heroes. 'Nevada Fighter' -a hit single in 1971- is included, as is the definitive version of Nez's signature song 'Propinquity'. Recorded from August 1970 through January of 1971, the album augments the original band's line-up (Red Rhodes, John London and John Ware - who had disbanded before release) with guest musicians such as James Burton, Ron Tutt, Joe Osborn and Glen D. Hardin.

JAZZ/AVANTGARDE

KONSTRUKT - (BLACK) LIVE AT ISLINGTON MILL (LP/BACKWARDS)

'Live At Islington Mill' finds Konstrukt working with 2 amazing guest artists: Graham Massey (of 808 State) and David McLean (of the Tombed Visions label). This live recording from 2017 finds the Turkish group and their guests filtering free jazz through a '70s era-Miles approach. Limited to 200 copies on black vinyl.

MANGELSDORFF, ALBERT -MEETS MASAHIKO SATO- - SPONTANEOUS (LP/BE! JAZZ)

The meeting of Masahiko Sato with Albert Mangelsdorff in a recording studio was planned in summer '71. Sato, Japan's leading pianist, had recorded with Wolfgang Dauner, Attila Zoller, Jean-Luc Ponty, Gary Peacock and Charles Mingus. He wanted to play on a record with Albert Mangelsdorff and as both were invited for the Berlin Jazz Festival 1971 there was a good opportunity to record them there. This -first released as an original ENJA production in 1972- documents this exciting session. This reissue on LP was newly remastered for optimal sound. Limited to 500 copies.

AMADO/MCPHEE/KESSLER/CORSANO - A HISTORY OF NOTHING (LP/TROST)

Great dedicated music by 4 strong individual players, brought together by Rodrigo Amado. Intense communication with room for outbreaking solo-parts but always held together through a vision of playing together, all the time exiting and interwoven with beautiful melodies! Rodrigo Amado: tenor saxophone, Joe McPhee: pocket trumpet, soprano saxophone, Kent Kessler: double bass, Chris Corsano: drums.

BAILEY, DEREK -& EVAN PARKER- - THE LONDON CONCERT (LP/OTOROKU)

Originally released on the INCUS label in 1975. "'The London Concert' is one of those rare recordings that capture musicians at a special moment of confluence, a moment when procedures are proving fruitful and before practice has hardened into dogma, when different visions are not yet turned into position papers (insert your list here). There are clearly moments in 'The London Concert' when things that have not precisely happened before emerge from one partner, are caught and supported by the other in a way that, too, is still new 40 some years on, and which prods the initiator to hold and develop a particular line with the clear support of the other." ~Stuart Broomer. 'The London Concert' comes in a limited edition of 500 copies printed on reverse board with printed inner sleeve and newly commissioned liner notes by Stuart Broomer.

SZABO, GABOR - IN BUDAPEST AGAIN (CD/KEPT ALIVE)

Features tracks from a concert in Hotel Hilton, Budapest, in collaboration with Hungarian artists like Kati Bontovics, Gyula Babos, János Másik and István Lerch and his last recording titled 'From A Dream', recorded in the studio of the Hungarian TV.

BLACKA T - A JAVA/VERSION (7"/ONLYROOTS)

Reissue of the Pablo masterpiece 'Java' revisited by Augustus Pablo himself in 1988 in a digital style with the DJ Blacka T on the mic.

DUNKLEY, ERROL - MOVIE STAR/VERSION (7"/ONLYROOTS)

First cut of 'Movie Star' recorded by the Jamaican singer in 1973 and released on the African Museum Label that he founded with Gregory Isaacs. Backed with dub version by Sound Combine.

BROWN, BARRY - VIBES OF BARRY BROWN (LP/RADIATION ROOTS)

'Vibes Of Barry Brown' is an album of deep roots reggae, surfaced in limited quantity in 1981 via Sonic Sounds' Gorgon imprint, the sub-label reserved for producers that lacked an established label of their own, and although production is not specifically credited, the album is likely a self-produced work, since Brown is credited as sole songwriter, just as he was on the self-produced 'Cool Pon Your Corner' LP from 1980. The albums are stylistically similar too, with Brown singing over hard roots rhythms, most likely laid at Channel One with the core of the Roots Radics, and voiced and mixed at King Tubby's.

FERGUSON, WALTER GAVITT - KING OF CALYPSO LIMONENSE (LP/BONGO JOE)

'THE LEGENDARY TAPE RECORDINGS VOL. 1' - 99 year-old Walter Gavitt Ferguson from Costa Rica is a humble soul and a living legend, a Calypsonian of mythical proportions. Rooted like an old tree on the Caribbean shore, he has never left his home town to look for fame, instead fame did come to look for him. Throughout eight decades, rumours of his musical gifts have attracted people from near and far, contesting Calypsonians, fans, tourists, musicologists, musicians, pilgrims and the President of the Republic. They once even moved a recording studio to his house as he refused to go to the city. But many years before that, Ferguson used to sell his legendary self recorded cassettes to travelers and music lovers from all around the globe. He never kept a copy for himself and with age started to forget many old compositions. A recently started, international "tape hunt" was able to locate 9 such tapes in Canada and rescued 50 of his forgotten songs. Vol. 1 of this tropical treasure is now available, resurrected directly from original cassettes of the Calypso King.

VARIOUS - THE WEEKEND STARTS HERE! VOL. 2 (10") (10"/STAG-O-LEE)

The second volume of the 'The Weekend Starts Here' series deals exclusively with the Popcorn genre. Popcorn is a style of music and dancing first established in Belgium in the 1970s and 1980s. The style includes a wide variety of mostly American and British recordings of R&B and pop music made between the late 1950s and mid 1960s, often relatively obscure, and characterised by a slow or medium, rather than fast, tempo. The Popcorn music scene first developed from dances held at the Groove discotheque in Ostend where mid-tempo soul and ska music played by DJ Freddy Cousaert became popular in the late 1960s. This 10" however features 12 pure Popcorn groovers from the "golden era". SIDE 1: 1. Ann Cole - Each Day 2. Jack Costanzo - Cat Walk 3. Milton Trenier - Gonna Catch Me A Rat 4. Ray Smith - Makes Me Feel Good 5. Nappy Brown - Coal Miner 6. Danny Rivers - Hawk SIDE 2: 1. Johnny Copeland - Just One More Time 2. Al Perkins & Betty Bibbs - Homework 3. Eugene Jefferson - Too Young 4. Chuck Bowers - You And I Are In The Same Mood 5. Clarence Daniels - Hard Working Girl 6. Lew Conetta - You Got Me Crazy Baby

VARIOUS - FRANCE CHEBRAN 2: FRENCH BOOGIE 1982-1989 (2LP) (LP/BORN BAD)

Second volume of the France Chébran series! Squeezed in between the age of disco and that of modern electronic music, French Boogie was a transitional phase, but it remains an amazingly refreshing testimony to the intermingling of pop and underground cultures. The genre was hastily categorized as anecdotal in spite of its pioneering synthetic groove and matchless bass lines. An attentive ear will discover the poetry of the ephemeral beyond the eccentricities of the genre, as well as a certain unexpected avant-gardism. Always cheerful and catchy, French Boogie is what you need to party. TRACKS: 01. Phil Barney - Funk Rap 02. JM Black - Lipstick 03. Ettika - Ettika (Version Maxi) 04. Sammy Hassamba - Propriété' Privé 05. Shams Dinn - Hedi Bled Noum 06. Alfio Scandurra - Qu'est-Ce Qui Ne Va Pas 07. Philippe Chany - Cairo Connection 08. Nordine Staifi - Dansez Le Raksi 09. Brigitte Et Michot - Ta Face Préface 10. Marie-José Fa - C'est Tabou 11. Hamidou - Jawla-Feli 12. Ganawa - Yamna 13. Créole Star - Break Magic Dance 14. Manu - La Rage Du Funky (Remix) 15. ELECTRONIC MUSIC/AMBIENT/D’N’B/TRIPHOP

BLEAK ENGINEERS - INTROSPECTO/INDISCRIMINATE (7"/SIX TONNES DE C)

Bleak Engineers is a cold wave project of Svetlana Zombierella and Alexander Moralez. Zombierella is known as the vocalist and bass player of the surf-rock band Messer Chups and the rock'n'roll band The Bonecollectors. Moralez (aka Kind Human Being) is an electronic musician, label owner of Mosaique Records and the regular DJ, resident and curator of the Mosaique club. The Bleak Engineers make melancholic wave with live guitars and other instruments such as vintage drum machines and synthesizers of the '70s and '80s. Limited to 200 copies on black vinyl in hand screen printed cover.

HOLIDAY INN - TORBIDO (LP/AVANT!)

A collaboration between Gabor (Aktion, Metro Crowd) on voice and Frenchman Bob Junior (Trans Upper Egypt, Bobsleigh Baby, Hiss) on synth and drum machine, they leave their best on stage, live shows have cemented their ill reputation: Gabor is a lanky dude and struts on stage with a boxer's pre match ritual dance, ready to vomit words in your face while Bob's composure never fails to spread misery and mystery through his vintage noise assault setup.

SOUNDTRACKS/LOUNGE/CULT ETC

PAWNSHOP - PAWNSHOP EP (12"/FOUR FLIES)

The Pawnshop was an Italian early '70s library music project featuring three respected players, namely Alessandro Alessandroni, Giuliano Sorgini and Giulia De Mutiis. This 12-inch release includes all the combo's recordings (eight cuts), including a previously unreleased gem. This is a limited edition of 600 copies.

FIDENCO, NICO - ETERNAL ANGUISH/COME BACK! RHYTHM (7"/FOUR FLIES)

Two super catchy disco-affected funk cuts taken from Nico Fidenco's score for the 1977 movie 'The Degradation Of Emanuelle'. Fans of sensually haunting synths, hypnotic drums and mellow and persuasive bass lines can't do without these tunes! This edition is limited to 400 copies.

ROUBAIX, FRANÇOIS -DE- - LE SAUT DE L'ANGE/R.A.S (LP/TRANSVERSALES D)

Never released before on LP, here come the complete original soundtracks of French cult film composer François de Roubaix for director Yves Boisset. Two movies that embody the two sides of François de Roubaix's approach to recording. For 'Le Saut De L'Ange' (1971), the self-taught composer wrote an orchestration for some fifty musicians playing strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion with two distinct solo instruments alternating the main theme: Indian Sitar on the one hand and accordion on the other. This beautiful score creates the seam that binds Bangkok to Marseille, the two places where the action takes place. 'R.A.S' (1973) was recorded on a 8-track tape recorder, in François de Roubaix's home studio on rue de Courcelle, where most of his '70s scores were recorded. The result is a mix of military-march rhythms, rolls on the snare-drum with sounds of Synthi AKS syntheziser: de Roubaix invented a modern sound for this contemporary-history tragedy.

AUGER, GRÉGOIRE - BURN OUT O.S.T. (LP/BOOKMAKER)

Grégoire Auger has composed a nocturnal and vibrant music, made of restraint and tension for this stylized thriller by Yann Gozlan (director of 'Captifs' and 'Un Homme Idéal'). Mainly electronic, with major use of synthesizers, the music also tends to the rock and industrial genres through guitars and percussions. It is an atmospheric soundtrack, dark, elegant and harsh, which embodies the tightening noose around the movie's main character. After 'La Mécanique De L'Ombre' and 'Mariana', this is Grégoire Auger's third film score.

TAPSCOTT, MICHAEL JAMES - THE DEPTHS O.S.T. (CD/BOOKMAKER)

On the evening of December 31, 2012, at Bookmaker Records' headquarters, director Youssef Chebbi met Michael James Tapscott (Odawas), who just arrived from San Francisco for a trip in Europe and ended up celebrating new year's eve with the Bookmaker family. They agreed that Michael would make the music of Youssef's second short film 'The Depths' with shooting in Tunisia recently finished. Six years later here are the 38 minutes of music that Tapscott recorded in one night and sent to Youssef in one bundle (while there was only one or two themes needed for the film). A sublime blend of folk, new age, off-track psychedelia and movie-goer references. Limited to 100 copies.

AFRO-BEAT/FUNK & PSYCH/DESERT BLUES/ETHIOPIQUES

BRAEN & RASKOVICH - AFRO BEAT/AFRO FLOWER (7"/FOUR FLIES)

Two obscure yet delightful Afro-funk/psych recordings from the duo of Giuliano Sorgini and Alessandro Alessandroni, recorded at the dawning of the '70s and previously unreleased! The best Afrodelic breaks one possibly could wish for, available in a limited edition of only 400 copies!

ETRAN DE L'AIR - NO. 1 (LP/SAHEL SOUNDS)

Based in the Northeast of Niger, Etran de L'Aïr is one of the longest running bands in Agadez. They play a loud and raucous version of Saharan rock, built around burning guitar melodies and crashing drums. Unknown outside of their hometown, Etran is one of the hardest working bands on the wedding circuit, playing on ramshackle equipment in true DIY aesthetic. Bright and mind blowing groove, upbeat and hypnotic. Part surf rock, from a place that is all beach. Debut album, limited edition of 1000 with hand assembled 3-color, old school offset covers.

KIRKLEY, CHRISTOPHER - FOLKTALES FROM THE SAHEL (Bk/SAHEL SOUNDS)

Oral tales collected in the desert regions of Mali and Niger and retold by Christopher Kirkley, many written here for the first time. 48 pages, published in a limited edition of 250.
