Limited edition 500 copies white vinyl!! Wind is a talented psychedelic rock band consisting of Filip Ramberg, Martin van Houtum and Fredrik Severin. A trinity of close friends that share a vision of sound. A sound that is raw and unpolished, with more than enough of neverending drumrolls, spaced out guitarlicks and organic bass. Wind are inspired by the psychedelic rock of the 60s, folk music from the East and spiritual jazz - some points of reference can be Amon Duul, Alice Coltrane and Trad Gras ch Stenar. Wind has built an excellent reputation as a live act, and their sets often consist of songs that start off in one place, and, with improvisation, never end the same way. Still, they always sound focused and determined. The 10" EP Sleep consists of two brilliant psychedelic tunes that were improvised in the studio, and are in many ways a product of listening to the band live. The EP was recorded at Studio Klinsj, and produced by Ask Fredrik Berg.

If you enjoyed Iota's 2008 Small Stone debut, ''Tales'', then you are going to dig the Hell out of Dwellers. This could be, in part, due to the fact that it features Iota song writer/guitarist/vocalist Joey Toscano. So yes, you'll get the heavy, fuzz-soaked, freaked-out, psychedelic guitar assaults. But, what sets Dwellers apart from the afore mentioned band is a more focused approach to the song writing. The songs are a bit shorter (if only slightly) and dive a little more into the psych/blues territory. Get a group of musicians who have a shared love of certain bands and who can get along with each other for at least an hour. Hell, sometimes they don't even have to be musicians (especially if you're looking at the Top 40 charts). But in reality, it's a lot tougher, as the essential ingredient? What makes the group truly unique and memorable - is something that can't be defined, learned, or bought. Call it talent, magic, or whatever you want, but Greenleaf's got it. A super group of the underground rock scene, the band was formed sometime in late 1999/early 2000 by guitarist Tommi Holappa (Dozer), drummer Daniel Liden (Demon Cleaner and the drummer on DOZER's "Through the Eyes of Heathens," and currently in AND The Machine Said Behold!), and engineer/ bassist Bengt Backe. Featuring a revolving cast of fellow musicians who share a love of heavy fuzz rock, including Fredrik Nordin (Dozer), and Peder Bergstrand (Lowrider), Greenleaf has consistently defined what rock 'n' roll was, is, and should be. You put 2001's "Revolution Rock", 2003's "Secret Alphabets" and 2007's "Agents Of Ahriman" on and you're going to have a hard time taking them off. The band cooks, because they've got that special ingredient. It's time to rejoice, because Greenleaf is back with "Nest Of Vipers." Like their past releases, "Vipers" is a righteous kick in the ass and a testament to the almighty riff. This time, Tommi and Bengt are joined by Oskar Cedermalm (Truckfighters) on vocals, Olle Ms. This new lineup keeps Greenleaf moving forward without losing track of what made them great in the first place. 0373691 LP TVLP 1 TURKISH VINYL	KARACA, CEM -& MOGOLLAR- - LIVE IN ISTANBUL 1972 What can be said about Cem Karaca and Mogollar that has already not been said before? Cem Karaca & Mogollar joined forces for a short period from 1972 til 1974, this collaboration was short lived with only 3 singles being released, making this live concert a real gem. We do know that their repertoire was more extensive than the recorded songs, that's what makes this concert so great, only one of the songs here (Sikayetname) was released by this band (in 1977). One song, Dadaloglu, had only been released by Cem Karaca Kardaslar a few years before, and the remaining 3 tracks are all new to the Cem Karaca repertoire of released music. But the real gem on this album and a fitting end to the concert, Paradox, is one of Cem Karaca's rare English language tracks, which was never released; the only version we have heard so far is from this concert. Sound has been taken from the original tapes and remastered, so sound quality is much better than the average 'live LP' quality. 0373851 LP ASHLP 3024 5051125302420 PHOENIX	KARUNA KHYAL - ALOMONI 1985 At No.19 in Julian Cope's Japrocksampler publication, Karuna Khyal's album Alomony 1985 is widely acknowledged as years ahead of its time, preceding other Japanese underground experimental outfits such as Fushitsusha, White Heaven and Magical Power Mako by almost 20 years. The bands musical influences are if anything more Germanic than Japanese with long hypnotic free form rock passages, a heavy use of tape loops, electronics, environmental sounds, distortion and backwards tapes underpinning some manic harmonica playing on some gut-wrenching blues dirges. Can, Faust and Guru Guru clearly had an influence on the band, as did Captain Beefheart and Pere Ubu. The band was formed in Los Angeles in 2001 by Philadelphia transplant Keith Gibbs (guitar, vox) and Detroit natives Rick Ferrante (drums) and Clayton Charles (bass). Upon Clayton's departure in 2007, the guys recruited Chicagoan Jason Casanova (ex-Tummler, Volume) to join the fold. Drawing on influences from 70's metal, rock, and psychedelia, the band falls somewhere between an amalgamation of Black Sabbath, old Soundgarden, Deliverance-era Corrosion of Conformity, Mountain, and a bastardized version of Grand Funk Railroad. Their songwriting approach is clear; keep the focus on the hook. The band's new album ''III'' is set to be released on Small Stone Records in March 2010 and marks the beginning of a new chapter for the band. While this record continues to showcase their signature sound and technique, the production is bigger and the songwriting is more refined. Combining the simplicity of their Small Stone debut, ''I'' (released in 2004), with the melodic undercurrent of ''II'' (2006), they still manage to capture the raw essence that won them their moniker. The record also features a compelling guest appearance from Monster Magnet's own Ed Mundell. The band's music has been featured on a variety of movies and television shows including the reissue of Clerks, Jersey Girl, FX's original hit series Sons of Anarchy, CW's The Supernatural, and MTV's Viva La Bam, Bam's Unholy Union, and Rob and Big. They can also be heard on a number of video games including NHL 2005, American Chopper, and Monster Garage. Over the years, Sasquatch has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Blue Cheer, Fireball Ministry, Nebula, Unida, Solace, Roadsaw, Fatso Jetson, and Yawning Man among many other heavy hitters in the genre. Playing in such good company and performing at many of the larger annual rock festivals stateside (including SxSW, CMJ, and SHoD), the band has grown from a local heavy favorite in Southern California to garnering interest and praise from audiences overseas. Released in September 1968, Five Day Week Straw People were not a band, but rather the work of London-based songwriters David Montague and Guy Mascalo, who composed a song cycle that they once described as being about "people who work monotonously during the week and then try to enjoy themselves at weekends." The song writing pair hired in guitar, bass, drums, vocals and set up in a makeshift studio recording space (actually a school!). Taking just four hours, most of the tracks being recorded in one or two takes, the results were exceptional. Tracks like the title song, Im Going Out Tonight and the dreamy, shimmering Sunday Morning being particularly strong. Packaged in a colourful psychedelic sleeve, the LP is now quite rightly regarded as one of the classic LPs of the era and copies regularly sell for more than 100. The LP sold quite well at the time and the label wanted a follow-up album, but David Montague remembers that given how he and his partner had made no money from the LP (the modest fee was all given to the session players) they declined the offer and elected to focus their efforts on placing their songs with established music publishers. This is the first reissue of the album, by Montague and Mascalo, mastered from original tapes stored in the Library for nearly 40 years, and enhanced with the addition of two bonus tracks recorded the same year by the pair, not previously re-issued. Packaging includes further input from Montague and Mascalo. An all-time classic Brit psych LP and original copies still fetch good prices on the collectors market. The 2011 album of Sistema Bezopasnosti, one of the few currently active Russian dark folk bands. Their music is heroical and lyrical militaristic apocalyptic folk recorded by the canons of the genre: marching rhythms, acoustic guitar, bass, piano, trumpet and some amount of electronics. The band's style is easily recognizable by its lyrics and ecstatic vocals of the band's leader VlaD Doronin, and also by lush but thoroughly thoughtful musical arrangements. The songs sang in Russian language are dedicated both to the present-day themes of the dominance of non-spirituality, and to the timeless philosophical questions. Here's also some place for simple human feelings. The album also features a couple of nice instrumental tracks... The second CD contains the album "Cosmogony and Eschatology" (2008) previously not released on physical media. This opus is dedicated to the Scandinavian mythology and shows completely different side of the band, particularly it's skills in working with analogue electronic sound. Rich multilayered instrumental compositions, each of them like a trip with complete plot. This is not purely an ambient work, here is enough space for pompous battle scenes, electro ritual atmospheres and noisy moments... The album is released in a double digisleeve with an 8-page booklet containing lyrics and photos.

Straight outta Fenton (Stoke On Trent) the young Eddie Chippington began annoying audiences at hippy festivals and pop concerts in the early '80s when opening shows for long haired groups such as Here & Now, The Cardiacs and Dangerous Girls. When maturity and baldness caused the growing Potteries lad to become Ted Chippington and a 'Top Comedian' he also moved in to riling up and calming down excited crowds with his act at gigs by punk rocker bands The Fall, the Nightingales, The Farm, the Higsons and many others. During this period Ted - "The funniest man alive" according to music weekly Sounds back in the day - was to influence a new generation of stand up comedians (Stewart Lee, Richard Herring, Simon Munnery, etc, etc) with his live performances of what Stewart Lee descibes as "a mixture of surrealism and insolent provocation and uncompromising boredom". Indeed Lee claims that Chippington was the very reason he got in to stand up, while Herring speaks in glowing terms of Ted's "contempt for the very idea of jokes". Ted first came to national prominence when he opened for The Fall in Birmingham in 1984 and his performance was recorded and released by the Nightingales' Robert Lloyd's record label Vindaloo Records as a 7" EP. As Cage reads aloud in what sounds like a nonsensical language (the result of using the I-Ching to extract a series of sounds and syllables from the Journal of Henry David Thoreau), the Italian audience (many of whom did not really know who Cage was or what to expect from the performance) begins to grow increasingly unruly, eventually yelling for Cage to get off the stage! However, by the early 1970s Cardew had become deeply involved in the international communist movement which created a growing rift between himself and his colleagues (particularly after his book Stockhausen Serves Imperialism was published in 1974). As Cardews politics changed, so did his music, which began drawing more and more from the populist roots of folk music. On this LP Cardew proposes a series of compositions based on the revolutionary songs of different countries (i.e. the Irish Rebellion of 1798, the Islamic Rebellion of 1937, the uprisings in West Berlin in the early seventies). 0373928 CD HINT 12 4020796433772 HINTERZIMMER	MELNYK, LUBOMYR - THE VOICE OF TREES Lubomyr Melnyk (*1948) is a Canadian composer and pianist of Ukrainian origins. During the 1970's he began developing his own unique language for the piano - called Continuous Music - and with it, a stupendous physical and mental technique that is totally unprecedented in the history of the piano. Melnyk has steadfastly devoted his life to the pursuit of pianistic love and excellence, only releasing a few pieces on vinyl and later on CD-Rs in very small runs. While finding the contemporary classical music of the time to be far too based on the spectacle, he began creating his Continuous Music by rapidly projecting pure chordal sounds (sometime broken) through time, by maintaining a continuous and unbroken stream of tones that build a chain of patterned links, seamless and effervescent. Melnyk was undoubtedly inspired by the music of Terry Riley and Steve Reich, who had, in turn, been inspired by the Gamelan music of Bali as many of the Minimalists were. Although his music is generally classified as Minimalism, Melnyk strongly refuses that term preferring to call his music Maximalism, since the player has to generate so many notes to create these fourth dimensions of sound. In his earlier works, he did devote much of his attention to the overtones which the piano generates, but in developing his Continouous Music he has become more and more involved with the melodic potential of this music. The Voice Of Trees was recorded in 1983 but never officially released. It is a 64 minute composition including Lubomyr Melnyk on piano and Melvyn Poore (who became a member of Zeitkratzer many years later) on tuba, both instruments played in real-time and over backing tracks. The Voice of Trees is a work of true and intense beauty. It is a lost masterpiece, as many of Melnyk's pieces are, that need not hide in the shadow of the Reich/Glass/Riley axis but come to light in the history of twentieth-century composition. He recorded the original version of Lipstick Traces (On a Cigarette), a b-side in 1962, before being covered by the OJays as a chart hit in 1965. The original version of Fortune Teller was an R&B hit in 1962 before being covered more famously internationally by the Rolling Stones and it becoming a staple of many a 60s Beat Band. Then the million seller Spellman did contribute to was not under his own name, Mother In Law being an Ernie K-Doe record on which Spellman sang the (un-credited) baritone response. All three tracks can be heard on this album, in which Shout Records is pleased to present the singles cut by Spellman for Ace, Minit, Alon and Sansu Records during the 1960s, along with rare bonus tracks from the Minit sessions and the instrumental version of Fortune Teller, suitably entitled Crystal Ball, by the Stokes, a New Orleans combo featuring Allen Toussaint. Although fans are often frustrated by the low-fidelity of his earlier recordings, this 1975 LP (originally released on the Italian avant-garde label, Cramps), stands out in that regard. Recorded in an actual studio (unlike most of his early work) in Milan, for this session Bailey was apparently asked by his Italian hosts to define "improvisation". He then proceeded to give his answer in the form of these fourteen tracks (eight performed with electric guitar, five with six-string acoustic guitar, and one with a 19-string acoustic guitar).
