And what a great and especially LOUD release it is. Cosmonauts was formed in 2009 and resides in Orange County in sunny southern California and sound like a bunch of kids that don't like the beach too much and spend their time inside taking drugs and complaining that it never rains. They have a huge buzzing sound that rely on broken amps and not pedals that most bands use to make noise. Cosmonauts released their great self-titled debut album in 2010 on Permanent Records in Chicago although it was originally released on tape on Burger Records (Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, Black Lips and much more). Freaky just like every label, it gathers a growing number of Copenhagen-based bands as Iceage and Sexdrome. From the same brood here comes War, a new duo formed by Elias Bender Ronnenfelt (Iceage frontman) e Loke Rahbek (Sexdrome and runner of Posh Isolation label). Debuted by NYC Sacred Bones just a couple of months ago with the At War With Youth 7-inch these young Danishes offer some minimal, clanking, home-recorded electronics. 0372518 12" D 30 2090503725188 DESTRUCTURE	HIPPIES OF TODAY - HIPPIES OF TODAY This new release is a kind of 10 years birthday present for Destructure. Destructure started as a distro at the very end of the 90's and our first release was HIPPIES OF TODAY 10? which came out in december 2001. Hippies of Today was a grind/punk band from Caen & Le Mans (France) which was very active in the early 2000's. They released a s/t 10? and a split 7? with The Index as well as a CD collecting all these songs. They played lots of shows in France, a european tour in 2002 and then disbanded due to lack of time and distance between members. Few months ago, at the end of 2011, HIPPIES OF TODAY members were asked to record a new album for some kind of label 10 years celebrations. After a couple of rehearsal week ends, the trio recorded 10 songs by itself in december 2011. This has been then mixed and mastered by Guillaume Doussaud from SWAN SOUND STUDIO. These new songs are the same kind of music that the band used to do (most of the songs were written years ago but never recorded, the band rearranged them in 2011), its a mix of punk, hardcore and grind with melodies and metal hints. The new recording is a bit different, more mature of course but also very raw, dark, raging and angry. The sound, music and lyrics have evolved just like the world around us. (10") Kelly Riechardt has directed several films, An Old Joy, Wendy and Lucy, and last year saw the release of Meek's Cutoff. A slow burning, bleak film following a small group of settlers traveling across the Oregon High Desert with their guide Stephen Meek. What follows is increased paranoia and tension as they start to believe Meek does not the territory he has lead the group in to. The film was released to some fantastic reviews and Michelle Williams recently won the Hollywood Film Festival Award for Best Actress for Meek's Cutoff, My Week With Marilyn and Take This Waltz. This fantastic film's score was written by Jeff Grace. Grace has scored several films including Ti West's excellent retro horror 'House of the Devil' and Jim Mickles great vampire movie 'Stake Land', as well as working as an assistant to Howard Shore's score for Peter Jackson's 'The Lord Of The Rings' trilogy. Grace's soundtrack work is always interesting and defies genre. For Meek's Cutoff, Grace enhanced the films portrayal of the fear of the unknown stark land the group faces. The sounds composed by Jeff Grace are hypnotic, ambient and minimal, much like the deserted dust lands the characters in the film travel through. The soundtrack blends classical composition with drone and experimental avant garde music. Meek's Cutoff was one of my favourite soundtracks and films of 2011, and I'm honoured to present it here on 10" virgin vinyl, in a gorgeous sleeve, including a small insert of liner notes and photographs of the file. Just a year before the army had raided Fela's compound, destroying his house, his club, his brothers free medical clinic and fatally injuring his mother. With their houses destroyed they had to squat the former Decca offices. Somewhere in between the madness they managed to record Fela's 'Suffering And Schmiling' album and Tony Allen's third solo-project 'No Accomodation For Lagos'. The latter is -without a doubt- his most political orientated record. 0372702 LP ANM 6 ACID NIGHTMARE	ALPHA CENTAURI - ALPHA CENTAURI Alpha Centauri was formed in Greeley, Colorado in 1971. The band performed its hard driving rock throughout the American Midwest for years opening for artists such as STYX and URIAH HEEP. With a fairly strong US following, the band moved to Canada where they began to write original material. The result was 1977's long awaited eponymous debut on Salt Records. With the release of the album came more concerts as well as several radio and television appearances including the Canadian TV special "Alpha Centauri In Concert" from 1978. The band was then aiming for the UK, but management problems and road burnout led to the band returning to the USA, appearing on TV's 'Rock and Roll America'. Alpha Centauri stayed on the road until 1983 when they finally broke up. In the '90's a resurgence of sorts occurred following a glowing review of their sole album in the International Encyclopedia of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal stating them as the "Worlds best undiscovered Pomp band". 70's Hard Rock aficionados began scouring the globe for their only album and in 1995, was issued on CD. Nowadays a rare sought after gem in the collector's market, Acid Nightmare thought it would be the right time to reissue this Hard Prog Pomp masterpiece on glorious vinyl. Steve plays guitar with effects and Manuel is on electronics, vocals and percussion. Dune Church comprises of two tracks, The Original Mind Roti being the first with some beautiful playing from Steve which is reminiscent of his solo work and his GHQ collaborations with Marcia Bassett, but layered with Manuel's electronics, which fluctuate between psychedelic hazes to almost concrete walls of heavy drones at noises at times, it creates something otherworldly. The B side, 'Stone Canoe' has rapid cascading plucking merged with whirring electronics, Steve's playing moves in and out of the blissed out mystic drones already laid down by the duo, haunting vocals creeping in and out. The gatefold package contains two heavyweight (180g) vinyl discs and also includes a cd, produced without the use of a limiter, which greatly increases the dynamic range of the recordings. The restoration project was undertaken by production team Guy Massey and Steve Rooke, who received a Grammy Award last year for their work on the Beatles Box Set. Guy Massey quotes Script of the Bridge as an influential album on his career. This is the first time that Script of the Bridge has been made available as a double album. By dividing the tracks onto two 12" discs, the sound quality greatly increases with none of the compression that hampered the original Chameleons vinyl. Working from original studio tapes, the production pair painstakingly restored the album song by song, to create what the band believe is the truest reflection of how the recordings were meant to be. It is the 13th proper release by the Oresund Space Collective. The music on this album was born on Sept. 24th, 2010, the same recording session as the Entering into the Space Country release. The material for these jams occurred later in the session (Jams 4 and 6). The members from the Univerzals (drums, bass, guitar, synthesizer) were making up the main band and were also joined by DR. Space, Johan Dahlström, (First Band from Outer Space), Mathias Danielsson (My Brother the Wind, Gösta Berlings Saga), Stefan Krey (Gas Giant, SumoSun, ILDHUas well as Claus Bohling (Hurdy Gurdy, Secret Oyster, Elektrum). BONGO	OS CANIBAIS - OS CANIBAIS An incredibly original album of Brazilian nuggets from the Mocambo/Rozenblit catalogue, Os Canibais had a meteoric rise to fame starting in 1964 in Rio de Janeiro. The group was originally made up of Aramis (guitar/vocals), Serginho and Max (vocals) and later they brought in the wonderful Denise Baker (vocals) and Horacio (piano). Originally the group was to be called 'The Drunks' but after careful consideration they chose the much catchier Os Canibais (The Cannibals). They decided on this non-English name to differentiate from the Jovem Guarda TV era: The Fevers, The Jordans, The Clevers and so on. Jonas Silva, the A&R at Mocambo then signed them and their first single sold over one hundred thousand copies and made it into the Top 10. They broke new ground by being the first Brazilian pop-rock group to perform with a live orchestra in 1966 on TV in Rio, when the system of playbacks was still in its early days, they then went on to play the Brazilian Woodstock in 1969. They made one more LP under the pseudonym 'Bango' on Musidisc label, where their psychedelic music style was compared to Os Mutantes. This record pushes the idea of sharing a record to the extreme. Both sides start with a new song from each band, long songs (approx 12 min) which let both bands enough time to developp their own ambience full of intensity and melodic loops. These new songs are followed by collaboratives drones which prove that these two bands were made to work together and share a record. BONGO	OS CANIBAIS - OS CANIBAIS An incredibly original album of Brazilian nuggets from the Mocambo/Rozenblit catalogue, Os Canibais had a meteoric rise to fame starting in 1964 in Rio de Janeiro. The group was originally made up of Aramis (guitar/vocals), Serginho and Max (vocals) and later they brought in the wonderful Denise Baker (vocals) and Horacio (piano). Originally the group was to be called 'The Drunks' but after careful consideration they chose the much catchier Os Canibais (The Cannibals). They decided on this non-English name to differentiate from the Jovem Guarda TV era: The Fevers, The Jordans, The Clevers and so on. Jonas Silva, the A&R at Mocambo then signed them and their first single sold over one hundred thousand copies and made it into the Top 10. They broke new ground by being the first Brazilian pop-rock group to perform with a live orchestra in 1966 on TV in Rio, when the system of playbacks was still in its early days, they then went on to play the Brazilian Woodstock in 1969. They made one more LP under the pseudonym 'Bango' on Musidisc label, where their psychedelic music style was compared to Os Mutantes. All in all, the artistic trajectory of Rotomagus was peculiar: they started out as a harmony pop-psych band, shifted through a brief Jimi Hendrix-ian interlude (The Sky Turns Red), straight into a Vanilla Fudge groove; they then went down in flames as a hair-raising monolithic heavy rock power trio. On Julian Cope's excellent Head Heritage website, the Seth Man raves about Rotomagus thus: "The first time I heard this track (Fighting Cock), I did not freak out. I merely walked into a nearby closet and screamed my head off for a minute solid, beat the floor and ripped my t-shirt... then I cowered when it hit me: this thing came out in 1971? Before "Raw Power"?! I just lost my mind... The only thing that predates this monster in terms of being a full-on amassing of all things heavy are all the many key points on Sir Lord Baltimore's "Kingdom Come" LP and THAT'S it, brother." French magazine Rock & Folk was succinct: "Rotomagus create an emotional music, violent, even aggressive." Violent. Aggressive. Intense. On this disc we bring you the entire output of Rotomagus, including an album-length demo from 1971, the bands tumultuous, thunderous swansong, recorded as a super jam (live with no overdubs). Our Lion Productions and Martyrs of Pop edition of Rotomagus comes replete with a bi-lingual 32-page booklet, with the entirety of the Seth Mans article on the band, plus the bands history in both English and French, printed on FSC recycled, chlorine-free, 100% post-consumer fiber paper, manufactured using biogas energy. 0348145 CD SIREENA 2062 4260182980620 SIREENA	VARIOUS - HANNOVER FUN FUN FUN 1979 Hans-A-Plast, one of the many flowers of the Hanoverian punk scene in had recorded their first LP, which sold surprisingly in the same year several thousand units. So much success, of course, called the record industry to the plan, but the band formed along with the fanzine maker Hollow Skai in Hannover, the NO FUN label in early 1980. One of the first own actions would have been the recording of the second No Fun Festival, this show took place on 7 and 8 March 1980 in UJZ Glocksee, Hannover and held about 2000 people. However, 11 bands made it to Glocksee-stage. The highlights of these performances were in total for the proposed sampler. Surprisingly the performance of the 39 Clocks was not on the tapes, so that this project went into the studio and recorded their contribution - borrowed -because of the live atmosphere- the approval of Hans-A-Plast. Hollow Skai rightly observed in the detailed booklet of this CD, that for every taste, at least one new wave band was there - a musical in this latitude unprecedented event in Hannover! Even thirty years after the occurrence of this concert, you can feel the special mood of this music. It's Saturday Night!....is an exciting collection of rockabilly recordings from the same label. Starday Records was launched in Beaumont, Texas, in the early 1950s, with perfect timing to catch the first wave of the rockabilly tsunami that would sweep the Southern states of America between 1954 and 1958...and the Texas teenagers with their distinctive cat music were just as ready to rock as those being captured by Sam Phillips at Sun Records in Tennessee. A cult label for rockabilly collectors worldwide - if not the Holy Grail of all rockabilly record labels - Starday embraced the new teenage music enthusiastically, introducing the likes of Sonny Fisher and Sleepy LaBeef, as well as revitalising the careers of veterans such as Link Davis, Bill Mack and Leon Payne.
