BRAST BURN - DEBON
Brast Burn are often linked with Karuna Khyal with many aficionados concluding that they were actually the same band. Whether this is true or not remains an unsolved mystery but one thing is for sure: Brast Burn's one and only recorded outing left an indelible stamp on those who were to follow. Nurse With Wound's Steve Stapleton thought highly of Debon and included it in his "legendary list" that appeared on the sleeve of his bands 1979 debut album. Featuring orchestrated fuzz guitar, echo-drenched percussion, reverbed bass, zithers, assorted taped sounds and vocals that are simply inspired. An album thats a must for headphones and for devotees of the likes of Faust and Can. A rare musical experience and a vital addition to any record collection.

CAESAR, J.A. - KOKKYOU JUNREIKA
Tokyo playwrite, director and artist J A Caesar sprang to prominence in the early 70s largely through his work with Shuji Terayamas Tenjo Sajiki Theatre, specialising in vaguley sinister music reminiscent of a Hammer House Of Horrors soundtrack. The Kokkyou Junreika release, often considered Caesars finest work, was culled from the 5 hours of music written for the original play distilled down to an albums worth of ageless chants, Budhist mantras, heavenly invocations and fuzztone guitar vamps supported by Caesars droning electric organ and the eerie female vocals of Yoko Ran, Keiko Shinko and Seigo Showa. An album that sits comfortably alongside early Ash Ra Temple, Cosmic Jokers and ATEM-period Tangerine Dream. Those that like their music with a healthy dose of gloom, look no further!

DULCES AŅOS - SINGLES 1970-74
Dulces Años ("Sweet Years") were a talented young Spanish band formed in the late Sixties by four 14 years-old guys. They were guided by Flix Arribas (drummer of famous band Los Pekenikes) who turned them onto a kind of Spanish Monkees. Between 1970 and 1974 they released five 45s, scoring a number one with their first single, "Almudena", an outstanding little number much in the vein of Los Brincos, full of heavenly vocal harmonies and lushy orchestrations, written by genious composer and guitar player Tony Marn. But Dulces Años also recorded some of the best but lesser known pop gems from Spain during the 70s. Here you'll find exquisite baroque pop-sike ("El Lobo Feroz"), superb sunshine-pop ("Voy Buscando"), progressive pop ("Caretas de Carton"), ace harmony pop ("Lady Love", "Llegara el Otono). Any fan of popsike, soft-pop and sunshine pop should check this out!! Highly recommended to anyone into Left Banke, Kaleidoscope.

 SWEET DANDELION
GALLIARD - NEW DAWN
Formed in the English Midlands as a six-piece band in 1969, Galliard released their second LP New Dawn in 1970. The album has a strong progressive flavour, with an interesting brass section and great, strong melodies. It also features the great sitar breakout "Ask for Nothing", certainly one of the highlights here, a trippy 9 minute long sitar raga. Although their first album Strange Pleasure is widely known, New Dawn has remained somewhat unknown to collectors and is reissued on vinyl here for the first time. Original artwork and remastered sound. Limited to 500 copies. Tracklist: Side A: New Dawn Breaking / Ask For Nothing / Winter-Spring-Summer. Side B: Open Up Your Mind / And Smile Again / Somethings Going On / Premonition / In Your Minds Eye.

GROUP 1850 - MOTHER NO-HEAD: THEIR 45'S (2LP)
2LP Black 180 grams vinyl, 350 grams carton Gatefold sleeve packed in Japanese plastic bag. Though they were a product of the beat group age, Group 1850 were the Netherlands' first progressive band - in every sense of that word. Constantly changing, constantly evolving, Group 1850 were musical extremists on a do-or-die mission to explode all expectations. Sparks flew, ideas flared, feedback swirled through misty nights, the dead walked, skeletons danced, flies buzzed, mountains fell, words rained fire from angry purple skies. Group 1850 raised all kinds of Hell. My god, were they good. Although the group made two deservedly revered albums, Agemos Trip to Mother Earth (1968) and Paradise Now (1969), some of their best work can be found on their singles, where their borderline insane hyper-creativity was focused into highly-concentrated, radically potent three-minute songs like Misty Night, Mother No-Head, Zero, We Love Live (Like We Love You), Dont Let It Be (We Have to Do It Now), and the magnificent Have You Ever Heard. The A- and B-sides of all their singles can be found on this 2-LP set in their original mono mixes, mastered from the original tapes. A number of previously unreleased demos are also included. Pressed on 180gm vinyl, Mother No-Head: Their 45s comes packaged in a breathtaking gatefold cover with rare archival photos and liner notes by Ugly Things Mike Stax. Chapter A 1. Misty Night 3:29 - mono 2. Look Around 2:34 - mono 3. I Want More (Finger Tips) 2:03 - mono 4. I Know (La Pense) 3:11 - mono 5. Mother No-Head 3:25 - mono 6. Ever Ever Green 3:17 - mono Chapter B 1. JENGHIZ KAHN - WELL CUT
One of those real rare hard rock group often considered as heavy progressive, JENGHIZ KHAN produced one sole album that is now a highly-priced collectible item. Its housed in an amazing cartoon-like gatefold cover of the Great Conqueror having cut the group member's heads, this obscure quartet is also the second band of bassist Pierre Raepsat (he had recorded with another "progressive" group LAURELIE one year before). An Heavy Prog-Psych Masterpiece occasionally reminds of an hybrid of TEN YEARS AFTER, URIAH HEEP Gypsy, IRON BUTTERFLY and VANILLA FUDGE.with Pierre Raepsaet's heavily accented Paul Rodgers-inspired vocals, kicked along by Tim Brean's keyboards and Friswa's buzz saw guitar, material like the bluesy Campus A and Trip To Paradise was every bit as good as material being churned out by their UK and US competitors. Despite a strong demand, as witnessed the prices for original vinyls, this is the First Legit LP Reissue of JENGHIZ KHANs sole album with reproduction of the original sleeve and including 6 beautiful never seen before black/white photos of the band !! Track listing : Side A 1. Pain 7:46 2. CampusA 1:18 3. The Moderate 4:12 4. CampusB 1:32 5. The Lighter 5:16 Side B 6. Hard Working Man 4:41 7. Mad Lover 3:10 8. MOPS - EXIT
One of the inumerable bands to emerge from the post-Beatles Japanese tour of 1966 with Fab Four pretentions. The Mops were a Tokyo quintet led by drummer Mikiharu Suzuki who had cut his musical teeth in a Ventures-style combo in the previous spring. The line-up was augmented by the arrival of Suzuki's older brother, Hiromitu, a lead vocalist with an Eric Burdon obsession who added hugely to the bands fuzzy garage soul sound. Not just a Merseyside homage turn, the Mops were a dedicated family whose love of garage rock and the nascent psychedelia would help them to create some of the most urgently deranged and muscially disruptive music of the entire Group Sounds era. Exit, the a live recording, features in its entirety the bands 1974 last concert at Nakano San Plaza. Side 1: 1. Introduction 2a) Walk Dont Run b) House Of The Rising Sun c) San Francisco Night d) I Love You e) Somebody To Love f) Asa-Made Matena g) Purple Haze h) Iijanaika i) Tadoritsuitara Itsumo 3. Exit. Side 2: 1. Wara No Kotoba 2a) I Want To Hold Your Hand b) Boom Boom c) Sea Of Joy d) To Love Somebody 3. Nobody Cares 4. Asa Made Matenai.

This Seattle quintet shared stages with legends such as The Doors and The Grateful Dead, but only got to make one album, which appeared in January 1968. A heady blend of five stand-alone tracks and the side-long epic from which it took its name, it melds influences such as rock, jazz, classical and electronica to powerful effect, and makes its long-overdue return to CD here.

DOCTOR CYCLOPS - BORGOFONDO
DIGIPACK version. Italian power the trio "Doctor Cyclops" puts down with its debut an extraordinarily authentic and fulminant marching 70s hardrock album with "New Wave OF British Heavy Metal" but also US-Westcoast blues influences. It captivates with raw energy and its wealth of intelligent psychedelic and progressive facets, powerful rhythm and mystical concept with a few flute/organ flashes, but is mainly guitar driven. Chris Draghi (vocals/guitar) knows in special kind how to melt his epic guitar riffs and wailing solos with his sensitive and catchy singing and provides a huge emotional intensity, on the one hand very mighty, but also haunted and desperately, completely in the style of groups like Black Sabbath, Grand Funk Railroad, Blue Oster Cult or today's like Graveyard, Witchcraft, Cathedral. Seven songs between 4 and 8 min in total 48 mins are produced very well, rather unusually for a debut album, and create hunger to let these guys blow your mind Live-On-Stage with a genuine thunderstorm. This album takes you back to those days when music still was music, and was celebrated to kick out the jams! Tracks 1. Night Flyer (4:24) 2. Cyclop's Claim (7:13) 3. Giants of the Mountain (9:59) 4- Eileen O'Flaherty (3:28) 5. Madness Show (7:03) 6. My Revolution (6:26) 7. The Unquiet Garden (9:53)

This quintet came from Walpole, Massachusetts, and boasted the powerful vocals of Caroline Stratton and powerful guitar work of Dean Keady. Their sole album was produced by Michael Tschudin (The Listening, Cynara), and originally issued in March 1970. A taut blend of acid rock and ballads, it has been favourably compared to Jefferson Airplane and other leading psychedelic acts of the era, and makes its long-awaited return to CD here.

ROAD - ROAD (UK)
Formed in March 1972 by former Jimi Hendrix Experience bassist Noel Redding, in the aftermath of a debilitating fall at Frank Zappas home, this short-lived power trio also featured former Rare Earth guitarist Rod Richards and Reddings Fat Mattress bandmate Leslie Sampson on drums. Their sole album is a crunching hard rock collection that was praised on release that July - but the band split soon afterwards, making it a lost piece of the jigsaw for Hendrix fans, and a must-hear for all lovers of proto-metal.

FLYING EYES - ROCKPALAST CROSSROADS
After 2 studio albums, WIS-2508 "The Flying Eyes" and WIS-2509 , Done So Wrong " and 3 European tours with more than 100 concerts / festivals since 2010, the Flying Eyes explored in the psychedelic undergound a decent fanbase, by their pitiless and infamous live shows. In March 2011, The Flying Eyes played the first TV show of their young career, which happened at German cult channel WDR-Rockpalast. The WDR announced the band as follows: , From Baltimore, the USA, comes the heavy psychedelic blues quartet The Flying Eyes which can be placed as a culmination of The 13th Floor Elevators, The Doors and retro Stonerrock. Beside the expression-strong and striking vocals which partly remind of Glen Danzig the music of the Flying Eyes owns intensity and melody, the spectrum reaches from spherical, dark balladesque passages up to wild, hypnotic improvisations. In spite of their young age The Flying Eyes pilot the listener in the time, in the music just music was; passionately, emotionally and theatrically. What miracle, that they after a science fiction Roman von J. Hunter Holly from the year 1963 have named." The recording was professionally cut and mixed live at Crossroads Festival at Harmonie Bonn by the WDR-Team. Beside the 75-minute Live spectacle which encloses almost their complete song spectrum follow as a bonus material, interviews, a small unplugged session, and a tour documentation (70 min) "The Flying Eyes Musicmentary" which also contains unreleased studiojams and fantastic impressions how life on road feels like! Buzzer of Love feeling in the most authentic way! This "Trip In Time" brings authentic and intense "Summer Of Love" vibes to your living room! Format: 16 : 9 , Dolby Stereo, PAL, Duration 153 min. DAMASCUS - COLD HORIZON (COL)
Limited to 150 x red vinyl, 4 page insert. With their one and only, self-published 12" EP from 1984 Damascus carved their name into Heavy Metal history. Whereas in a lot of cases the "importance" of a band gets blown out of all proportion because of the rarity of the vinyl, this is not true regarding N.W.O.B.H.M. legend Damascus. The four songs on their "Open your Eyes" 12" are just so good musically that it is hard to overlook the sheer quality of this rather obscure outfit from the Merseyside area. Speaking strictly in musical terms, "Open your Eyes", "Something on my Mind", "Cold Horizon" and "Midnight Train" are brilliant Heavy Metal songs with a very strong production.

ULVER - THEMES FROM WILLIAM BLAKE'S...
...The Marriage Of Heaven And Hell'. 2LP. 'Themes From William Blake's The Marriage Of Heaven And Hell', originally released in 1998, was different from what Ulver had made before. Tore Ylwizaker, a new composer and sound architect, added to Garm's expanding artistic visions, and together they stepped over the boundaries of black metal aesthetics, creating a genre-defying work. In this album, the musicians blended electronics, industrial music elements, progressive metal and avant-garde rock, adding ambient passages. Lyrically, the album incorporates the entire text of William Blake's 'The Marriage Of Heaven And Hell', and relies on guest vocals. Despite confounding and perhaps alienating many fans of the band's first three albums, the album received widespread acclaim from critics within both the rock/metal and alternative music press. For instance, it was reviewed as album of the month in several high-profile magazines such as Terrorizer, Metal Hammer, and Rock Hard. It also ranked very high at many years best polls that same year. Edition of 1000 copies.

ELECTRIC LITANY - ENEMY
With their debut album, "How To Be A Child And Win The War", not only won great reviews, but they were instantly loved by the Greek audience. Then came the concerts in Greece and Europe, where the lucky ones who attended, shared a unique experience. In expectation of their new material for some time now, finally theres a 7inch, forerunner of the second Electric Litany album, expected near the end of 2012. Electric Litany continue to compose, rehearse, make demos and live in public spaces combining economy with a certain clandestine charm and following an ideology that says that public buildings belong to the people for any possible use, even to write music. After the church that hosted them and the recordings of their first album, their new home for a while was a large rectory in West London, where "Enemy" was written. When forced to leave it, they moved to an old candy factory in East London, in which they built a rudimentary home studio and there continued to rehearse and wrote "Betrayal Of The Lamenting Circles". The final recordings took place - unexpectedly - in Athens this time, at Vasilis Terlegas studio, where the aesthetic connection between Terlegas and Litany was their shared love for analog recording on magnetic tape. The arrangement and the lyrics of the two tracks bridge lyricism with crudity and action. At the same time their thematics are looking for the perfect balance between personal/social revolution and eros/love, starting from the idea that to be someone or something revolutionary, they should have only love (for life, for mankind) On the other hand, for someone to truly love, to fall in love, the ideal is to be free. Basically the "Enemy" is all the things that we do not need and in fact harm us and getting rid of them as soon as possible, will give us one day when we will be able to have and we will only need our loved ones. The "Betrayal Of The Lamenting Circles" was written for all those dark love passions that triumphantly remind us how weak we are against love, the most obscure, the most incomprehensible and beautiful thing of all. PLAYGROUND NOISE - SWINGING LOWDOWN
The good old days of vinyl wanted artists to always release at least one 7inch (sometimes more) before the release of their album. It was a foretaste of what would follow, or the official baptism for the newcomers. The first Playground Noise 7inch, a rare item in the year 2008, is sold out for a long time now, while their debut album released last year, entitled after the bands name, has supported all the enthusiastic reactions provoked from their first recorded attempt and established the existing good reputation they already had as a band from their live appearances. The second 7inch, coming out in February by Inner Ear, remains true to the indie guitar sound of the band from Patras, while the new elements added to the arrangement and the lyrics influence the stylistic atmosphere of the tracks, without threatening the bands solid music base. Playground Noise continues to monitor the lives of those who dance on the edge of life in defiance of the risk of fall, only this time their heroes fall with more style and a little light comes to play with darkness. "A part of nothing / Apart from everything / I can still breathe / Im doomed but still I breathe". The addition of more strings and brass, the title of track "Swinging Lowdown" (a possible paraphrase of Swinging London) that could alternatively be "Falling And Laughing" (like that old Orange Juice track), the calm light that penetrates the reeds on the album cover and the lyrics of Cohen ["There is a crack in everything, thats how the light gets in"] on the back cover, are only a few signs .

BOKOMOLECH - MASS VULTURE
Greek cult-band Bokomolech's debut LP was 'Xero' (1995 - Lazy Dog Records, an indie label from Salonica, Greece). They later signed with Hitch-Hyke and released the EP 'Insect (Songs)'. Steve Albini was impressed by their music and invited them to Chicago to work on a record together at his own well-known studios 'Electrical Audio'. The product of this collaboration was a double LP, 'Jet Lag'. Steve and Shellac fitted an extra day in their European tour that autumn, so that they could play in Athens with Bokomolech. Their next release was another EP, entitled 'Slowburner' and produced by Greek musician/producer, Coti.K. 'Exit: Trance' was recorded during the summer of 2003, once again with Steve Albini, but this time in Iain Burgess' Black Box Studio in rural France. It was their first record that got properly distributed abroad, in Portugal and Germany. According to Bokomolech, their new album 'Mass Vulture' is their most mature and complete work. They worked on it in the last two years, under their full artistic direction and production and it combines, with an even clearer idiosyncratic way, elements from all their previous works: the sensitivity and musicality of 'Xero' and 'Insect (Songs)', the homogeneity of SNP 'Jet Lag', the acoustic elegance of 'Slowburner' and the energy of 'Exit: Trance'. The lyrics are as always open to different interpretations, but this is overall the most 'political' album of Bokomolech. This is also reflected in the title of the album, which is an attempt to compress the two basic positions developed in the public discourse about the Greek 'crisis', positions that can be encoded around the dipole guilt-victimization, and together a position that combines them. 'Mass Vulture' refers more to a process (schematically, the application of 'the shock doctrine' in a society) rather than a subject. Simultaneously, however, it refers to those mechanisms of mass culture that systematically brought out (and, depending on the establishment and defense of each, imposed) a model of thinking and behavior that made the society a convenient and vulnerable target for such attacks. This idea of the world, that loses its cohesion and crumbles, was captured in an ingenious way on the album cover, made by db.

BRICK KEEPERS - LAID TO REST
'Laid To Rest' is a project by Serena Korda with music composed by Daniel O'Sullivan. Serena Korda and Daniel O'Sullivan (whose musical lineage has included ULVER, MOTHLITE, MIRACLE, THENOR, SUNN O))), MIASMA & THE CAROUSEL OF HEADLESS HORSES, GUAPO and GRUMBLING FUR) have been collaborating on art/music installations, performances and film works for the past two years. Often the works involve invented rituals focused around the making and creation of fantastical and absurdist folk objects. 'Laid To Rest' is the first release on KORDOS, O'Sullivan and Korda's record imprint, a limited edition deluxe 12" white vinyl with accompanying 20 page publication. The Brick Keepers are a mythical marching band featuring the sublime voices of the Medieval Baebes, improvising legends Steve Noble and Alex Ward and guest appearances from Stephen O'Malley (Sunn O)))/Aethenor) and Kristoffer Rygg (Ulver/Aethenor). Ritual music is performed over a mysterious brick stack at the centre of 'Laid To Rest'. Their hysteria highlights the meticulously painstaking procedure of collecting 500 dust samples from people, places and institutions around the world. This record charts the transformation of peoples dust from the almost invisible to the palpable. Inspired by the commercialization of waste in Victorian London from the enormous dust heaps of Grays Inn Rd to the civil engineering achievements of Joseph Bazalgette's Sewage System. O'Sullivan's music responds to the process and making of 'Laid To Rest', from 'Collection' and 'Firing' through to the alchemical processes of 'Holy Dust' and the final interment of the bricks in 'Eulogy'. This mini opera (complete with libretto denoting a list of contents; 'anaconda skeleton, flakes of bone', etc), accompanied dance performances whilst also providing the soundtrack to a new film work by Korda, entitled 'Laid To Rest: The Brick Keepers Dance'. On 18th September 2011 the brick stack was processed through the streets of London on a horse drawn carriage and buried in Brunswick Square Gardens where a limited number of records were given to the mourners. Personnel: Daniel O'Sullivan - Conductor, Piano & Voice, Alex Ward - Clarinet, Steve Noble - Drums & Percussion, Matthew Parry - Trombone, Chloe Herington - Bassoon, Katharine Blake - Voice, Bev Lee Harling - Voice, Sarah Kayte Foster - Voice, Esther Dee - Voice, Kristoffer Rygg - Voice, François Testory - Voice, Stephen O'Malley - Guitar.

HAROLD - IN THE COOL OF THE NIGHT
B/w 'Shortage Of Love'. Limited to 250 copies. This single was originally released in late 1982, and soon became pick hit of the week in Billboard Magazine in early 1983. Back then the A-side received most of the attention, leaving the B-side yet to be discovered. Both tunes were the first songs ever written by Harold, and his first recordings as a single artist. The early 80s was a time of uncertainty, the economy was in a shambles and male/female relationships were starting to deteriorate, this was Harold's inspiration for his music. The tracks deal with these issues in a (playful) manner with an agenda, which is far from spreading sadness. About the songs: A - 'In The Cool Of The Night' is a smooth classic and ostentatious 6/8 soul ballad in classic Motown style. In addition the track has an impressive lead vocal presentation, sang in a natural voice opposite to falsetto, bland horns arrangement, which is performed in an authentic orchestra manners. All of the above mold 'In The Cool Of The Night' to a true treasure among the soul heritage. B - 'Shortage Of Love' is a soulful upbeat energizer of booming disco beats, that is a bit dirty and slick simulta- neously. The tough windy comp, sexy backing vocals, and the punchy sax make this number to a musical party. With its four brass ensemble and its acoustic instrumentation generate the feel of the 70s rather than the time it was issued in. 'Happy affairs' as Harold gets to the heart of the tracks inspiration, making 'A Shortage Of Love' a pure reflection of the sentiments of those times. About Harold: Milwaukee based musician and composer, and co-owner of the Je-Har Label. Harold's career as a crossover balladeer has spanned over 30 years. A popularly featured artist in Milwaukee's leading entertainment venues, including the famous Cotton Club, from the late 70s to 90s, Harold has excited and delighted audiences throughout the US midwest and south with performances described as 'sizzling' by reviewers. With vocals as impeccably phrased and articulated as they are passionate and intense, Harold returns nostalgic, timeless innocence to romance.

MEMPHIS SOUL - DON'T DOWN ME PEOPLE PART 1&2
Constructed around a sunburned guitar lick of prominence, Phoenix bluesman George Bowmans unreleased two-parter "Dont Down Me People" is a lost document of Arizonas underpublicized soul output. Simple in design, passionate in delivery, this blues-funk landmine from the late-60s sits at the rarely traversed intersection of the J.B.s and the Band of Gypsys. This 45 contains canyons of wide-open drums, courtesy of Dyke and the Blazers original timekeeper, Rodney Brown.

LEE, SHIRLEY ANN - SONGS OF LIGHT
When Numero wrapped the track list of 2009s Local Customs: Downriver Revival, we knew there was a smaller second record buried in the mountains of tape rescued from Felton Williams Ecorse, Michigan basement. As the Revival labels lone "star," Shirley Ann Lee was afforded dozens of opportunities to record, but only six sides managed to trickle out on 45 between 1967- 1969. Frustrated with a lack of even minor success, Shirley ceased recording altogether in the early 1970s. Using Revivals aborted "Shirley Ann Lee Radio Hour" program as our guide, weve taken the best of her proper studio recordings, in the moment sketches, out of tune piano demos, and rehearsals with young kids talking in the background and created the Shirley Ann Lee album that never was.

NOMBRES, LOS - LOS NOMBRES
One part War, two parts Santana, a dash of Motown, immersed in a rich Puerto Rican stock, the Nombres were the undisputed kings of Northern Ohio's rust-belt barrios. Following successive explosions of brown-eyed and latin soul in Los Angeles and New York in the mid and late '60s, Lorain, Ohio's Boricua underdogs went on a recording tear in nearby Cleveland, going all-in on a series of no-budget recordings at Boddie and Way Out. With a voice that rivaled any on the Fania roster, Willie Marquez led the rotating cast of Latino teens through numerous underfunded recording sessions for the Day-Wood, Beth, and Lorain Sounds imprints, the lo-fi fruits of which are compiled here. Track list: 1. Loving You 2. To Be Sure 3. Cold Wine 4. Todos 5. Full of Love 6. Here We Go Again 7. Trivialities 8. Untitled 9. Listen People 10. Just Call Me

THOMAS, HENRY - BULL DOZE BLUES
Twelve of our favorite songs by amazing Texas blues songster Henry Thomas. Thomas recorded a couple dozen sides between 1927-29 often accompanying himself on the quills, a pan flute sounding instrument. A traveling musician with an older style than many of the country blues musicians recorded in the 20s. Includes his classic numbers "Fishing Blues", "Railroadin' Some", "Honey, Won't You Allow Me One More Chance" the beautiful gospel number "Jonah in the Wilderness" and many more.
