500 numbered / glossy heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressing / insert South Africa, 1969. It was a long search to locate the rights for this album since it was not with EMI anymore. With the help of musicians and producers from The Third Eye and Freedoms Children we've found the original producer. He told us that the brother/sister band John & Philipa Cooper went shortly after the album was made to Britain and there it lost track. This amazing album has the same class as Billy Nichols, Duncan Browne and Blossom Toes. Many other musicians from S.A. where helping out. Every track is just great. Well composed underground songs, folk rock, effects, pop tunes just the right mixture for an album full of ideas and mastercraftly played. Perhaps one of the rarest albums from S.A. This album would have been a great success if it was produced in UK. It just has the right feel with the combination of great songs with an 60s art-vibe. Not unjustly so, since it contains one of the best psychedelic songs ever recorded (God Loves the Loser) and a couple of other great moody psych tracks. 2LP, 500 numbered / heavy gatefold sleeve / 180 gram pressing / 4 page insert. Iceland 1970. This selftitled album was the only one that Icelandic progressive rock trio Odmenn ever released. It was made at a critical point in Odmenn's history when the band members had agreed to take a sabbatical year while the guitarist studied law at the University of Iceland. They got together for the last time a year after the album was released and split up directly after having played only one gig. Odmenn was formed in early 1966 by the Johannsson brothers playing the most popular music clubs in Reykjavik. Most of Odmenns music could be categorised as protest songs or social studies touching topics like anti-war protest and fights against pollution, greed and deception balanced with more positive stances like hope for a better world with love and eternal brotherhood. "Psychedelic guitar pieces had become their trademark". Odmenn recorded this double album in Copenhagen with a release late December 1970. Odmenn made a great impression with their blooming mixture of energetic blues rock and was probably one of the best progressive rock bands in Northern Europe. 15 great songs released as a double album with massive 4 page insert and many photos never shown plus a long liner notes. 		60s/70sPSYCH/PROG/FOLK

Many people watching the eBay auctions where surprised seeing this album selling for the past few month 3 times for nearly 3000 Euro each. Before that, this album was completely unknown. Captain Marryat are from Glasgow, Scotland and recorded this demo album in 1974, released in a tiny pressing on the Thor label, hopefully to get an EMI or Chrysalis deal. They wanted to record only a single but came up with a complete album of self-composed tracks. Since it was not that easy for a Scottish band to get attention down in London, this album was the only pressing ever done and sold at band gigs only. 5 musicians, great organ, vocals, extra heavy fuzz-guitar, drums and bass, amazing underground songs, influenced by Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and Beggars Opera, a true lost classic. Part 1: With the help of many music friends and a lot of patience we could finally arrange a deal to reissue the 3 albums by the South African band THE THIRD EYE for the first time. The original pressing came out on Polydor. Perhaps THIRD EYE is the best band from S.A. with the most innovative and complex music. Most music lovers would vote Freedoms Children as the biggest influence in S.A,. rock but THIRD EYE will share at least half of that cake. In cooperation with Dawn Selby (hammond organ) and her brother Ron (guitar) this project came to life again. They where based in Durban, a coastal city several hundred miles away from the recording and musical hub of Johannesburg and started playing in 1968. The first album AWAKENING came out in 1969 when the female organ player Dawn Selby was only 14 years old. Just imagine her age when you listen to the amazing organ and piano tracks. AWAKENING was released in 1969 followed by 2 more albums SEARCHING and BROTHER just one year later in 1970. What a musical output in such a short time. The band and composer must have sit on a volcano where they just waited to outburst their music onto the rock universe. AWAKENING is the most complex album of the 3 with great brass arrangements, piano, hammond organ, fuzz-guitar and vocals full of soul. Musically going in the direction of bands such as Electric Flag, The Flock's Dinosaur Swamps, Chicago, The Nice and Al Cooper. Pure Electric Underground of the best sort. 		60s/70sPSYCH/PROG/FOLK

As musical comparison we would mention again the bands from the US and UK underground such as Electric Flag, Chicago and Keef Hartley Band. But we must say, if bands from South Africa where not banned in Europe and USA at the time the albums by THE THIRD EYE came out, they would have become as popular and even more as the mentioned bands from USA and UK. Split vinyl-only release from the master of experimental sound from Argentina Anla Courtis and Ukrainian sound researcher Edward Sol. Both pieces are based on so-called "tape manipulation" techniques and collages in aesthetics of deep, dark and massive drone music. Though mr. Courtis has composed his track using the recordings of geyzers (captured in South America) as the main and exceptional sound source. Edward Sol's piece is 4-tracks collage out of weird cassette loops, primitive oscillations and gloomy lo-fi tones of the cult Soviet-built analogue synth Polyvox. Commissioned by Italian producer Mémé Ibach (Karen Cheryl), HERMAN'S ROCKET was created in 1977 by JEAN-PIERRE MASSIERA and his half brother BERNARD TORELLI. The goal was to surf on the space disco trend, using sci-fi themes and inter galatic grooves. But like many MASSIERA signature production these were too much out there to hit massively. Ignored when it was released, the only HERMAN'S ROCKET album soon became a sought after masterpiece of space disco. Still connected with the cosmos, MASSIERA brings the concept back the year after with VENUS GANG on the album GALACTICSOUL (aka SYNTHETIC SOUL). The group is comprised ofMassiera, Torelli, Patrick Barbero and singers MICKY & JOYCE. For HERMAN'S ROCKET and VENUS GANG, the tracks were composed with mixes of delirious voices and moogs. Musicians and singers improvised totally. Afterward I added "theme" gimmicksand different mixes keeping it fresh and unplanned.- MASSIERA. Limited pressing of 1000 copies worldwide. Decades before his time, political and musical revolutionary, Sun Ra, developed a new plane of cultural existence where black people were all-powerful beings from outer space, sending their intergalactic message through jazz music. Recorded live in 1975 at Cleveland's legendary jazz club, the Smiling Dog Saloon, when Sun Ra and his Arkestra descended on the city for a week-long residency. You can imagine how the uninitiated's jaw must have dropped when Ra and his 15 musicians marched out onto the stage decked in glittery space costumes, playing percussion instruments and chanting. This high quality live performance is top-shelf Ra playing a kind of spaced out world music with hints of disco. Ra sings, plays the Moog, piano and organ, while everyone else plays alternately some kind of percussion or reed instrument, sings, dances, and claps hands. Recorded live in New York in 1973 with a 25-piece Arkestra, "What Planet Is This?" comes from a time when Sun Ra had just exploded onto the wider music scene, touring all over Europe, and even teaching a class at the University of California called "The Black Man In The Cosmos", where Ra was given a chance not only to teach about music, but also his world-view which, in some ways, was not unlike that of the hippies. Although many get caught up in his stagey esotericism and claims that he was from another planet, perhaps it can all be read as a simple code message to others to be anyone you want to be, regardless of race, or indeed, planet. Highlights of this recording include the ten-minute full-blown "Love In Outer Space", featuring unfettered organ, horns and a wall-of-sound approach to percussion, and the wild and whirling "Shadow World". In fact, Ra is at his best when he takes his audience by storm, pulling out all the stops as he does so masterfully on this rare performance with a 25-piece arkestra, one of his largest ever! CHILE 1970/1971/1973, 3x jewelcase with 4 or 8 page booklets and 2 extra tracks. This box starts a series of several releases in the near future: all releases of one band in one box, all with the original covers. BLOPS made 3 albums in Chile, all incredibly rare. The music is most beautiful. If you think you like El Congreso, you love Kissing Spell and Embrujo you will adore the music of the Blops. The first album from 1970 is pure underground folk with some electric moments, the second from 1971 becomes more electric still with most touching songs which makes you shiver and the third album from 1973 is complete electric and psychedelic with a progressive touch. Members of Kissing Spell + Embrujo (which will be released as a box-set too in the near future) became later members of Blops. The music from underground in Chile is well-known for perhaps the best music in whole South America. The Pacific coast, the influence of Indio music and the tough political pressure in 1973 makes this music so special. A real masterpiece. 		60s/70sPSYCH/PROG/FOLK

3 CD's in jewelcase with 4 page booklet and 8 page insert, BOX limited to 300 only. Contains: CD versions of 'Astra', 'Battle Hymn Of The Broken Hearted Horde' and 'Galactic Vibes', orginally released in South Africe in respectivily 1969, 1970, 1971. Since all master-tapes were lost in a big fire we had to master from original vinyl. We have used 2 or 3 mint copies of each album to make the best possible master. We won't say much about the music here because most people know what FREEDOMS CHILDREN sound like. All 3 albums are possibly the most wanted albums ever from S.A. Some call them the PINK FLOYD of S.A. and if the political situation in S.A. would have been easier they would have had the same status in the international music market as Pink Floyd does. Beautiful composer songs, amazing instrument work, well-crafted guitar work and great singers.
