LUBELSKI, SAMARA - DID YOU SEE?/SPECTACULAR OF...
...Passages". Two stunning exclusive tracks finally unleashed after (too many) years on the shelf, just in time to coincide with Samara's wonderful new album future slip on Thurston Moore's Ecstatic Peace! label. A sweet little dose of hushed & fragile melancholy folk-pop-drone fluttering. Samara's unmistakable slow-bliss songforms are at their most stripped down and psychedelically entwined, with thick hovering violin tones, distant reverbed atmospheres & gentle swirls of quivering guitar feedback all lifting things just high enough. Totally bleary-eyed & beautiful, hitting that perfect spot just between your heart & gut... to these ears its that golden zone where the sound of her past in bands like HALL OF FAME, TOWER RECORDINGS, METABOLISMUS, etc. merges effortlessly with her sublimely structured solo vision... Packaged in silver & black on bright red offset printed art paper covers, with simple hand stamped labels. Edition of 400 copies.

EDEN'S CHILDREN - EDEN'S CHILDREN
We are proud to present the first album by Boston's most exciting trio, reissued for the first time with its original Gatefold cover. Getting rare now as an original, and unavailable to many, it failed to sell after its release, despite a good welcome by the critic. After more than 40 years the album stands the weight of time and provides 9 robust songs with all the Fuzz you can ask for, a constant pounding drumming beat and even some eastern influences. The record is probably worth alone only for the great guitar playing of Richard Schamack "Sham" and its cool psychedelic cover. Limited to 500 copies, with remastered sound and preserving the original GATEFOLD artwork

SIENA ROOT - DIFFERENT REALITIES (BLACK)
Limited 180 gram vinyl issue of 4th album from Swedish quartet, housed in a deluxe gatefold 'embossed' sleeve! We get here 2 long tracks, divided into 10 pieces, whereof the first section is a classic SIENA ROOT sounding experience, recalling bands like LED ZEPPELIN and DEEP PURPLE, but with a more psychedelic edge. The 2nd part is an Indian inspired piece that are filled with stoned moments, sitars, tablas and of course electric instruments. This is perhaps the masterpiece. Sometimes very groove, sometimes, heavy as few can do, with influences from everything from INCREDIBLE STRING BAND, FLOWER TRAVELLIN' BAND to heavier bands that still lives in the 70's classic hardrock school.

Its laid back stoner jams convey the arid desert of the Sahara. Sabbath (duh) dutifully rears its head amongst the influences, but not to the point where youre hearing duplicate riffs exported from the 70s. Theres also a more straightforward Hawkwind and classic Deep Purple style to the album, as if Geezer had replaced Lemmy and the whole gang went on a shrooms bender, meeting up with Richie Blackmore later on for a couple of pints. Obviously, this is good stuff, and worth seeking out if youre looking for something to jumpstart your love of good ol heavy bluesy doom rock.

MASONICS WITH LUDELLA BLACK - SOMETIMES FRIEND
Having released their most recent album with us in 2007, weve been saving these two Micky Hampshire-penned gems to launch at you when the times right - we feel that time is now approaching! "Sometimes Friend" on the A-side, features band associate and muse Ludella Black on lead vocal, whos a solo artist in her own right and popular feature of Masonics live gigs. She sings over a fast, powerful punk rock tune, giving everything in the process. Every musician powers along through two and a half minutes of sheer excitement, leaving the listener simply wanting to hear it again. This song shows any less mature contenders the door, and is proof that The Masonics still possess much attitude! "Hungry Monkey" on the B, is a slightly sinister jungle tale, played by the male Masonics (Masons?) with Micky singing. Propelled along by a proper tribal beat and featuring an amazing talking guitar solo and flashes of organ(!), you can almost feel the heat and hear the crickets chirping! The first run is limited to 500 copies, pressed on Clear vinyl, and in a paper picture sleeve. The whole package being evocative of late70s punk 45s (perhaps even one in particular?). If any subsequent pressing is undertaken, the records will revert to Black vinyl. Unique recording content :These tracks are exclusive to this single (plus download) and not derived from an album. Recorded at Londons famed Gizzard studios using vintage equipment, resulting in the usual power and feel always to be found on Masonics discs

BLACK DIAMOND HEAVIES - ALIVE AS FUCK
Vinyl only release. Limited coloured. Recorded live on a hot-ass night of July the 24th 2009 at Dr. Johnny Walker's (Soledad Brothers / Cut In the Hill Gang) flat in Covington, Kentucky, this is the BLACK DIAMOND HEAVIES absolutely live and kicking out the jam Southern style. The album is a vinyl only release. "When they hammer away at max. tempo, they sound like The Stooges, with the Asheton brothers replaced by a really really loud Fender Rhodes piano. When they slow it down and groove, they sound like a broken down Booker T & The MGs / the theme from 'Taxi' being run-over by a taxi. They are, in parts, genuinely funky, and as jazz as a rock concert gets these days. They swing." - Paul Fuzz / Electric Roulette.

Brand new album by Lincolns favorite garage sons. This time the gang went to Costa Mesa, CA, to record "Big Deal (Whats He Done Lately?)"- (the title references a quote from Johnny Ramone about Phil Spector) - at the Distillery under the guidance of engineer/producer Mike McHugh (Black Lips, Andre Williams, Jon Spencer, etc). BRIMSTONE HOWL - GUTS OF STEEL (BLACK)
BRIMSTONE HOWL's sound is a furious mix of 60's influenced garage and old school punk that has been alternately described as "scuzzy blues-ish punk gone Killed by Death, like a lo-fi, art damaged early Gun Club," and "'60s blues-based rock 'n' roll played Billy Childish style-super loose, raw, and f*d-up." Born in the small towns of southeast Nebraska, the boys of BRIMSTONE HOWL worked on the farms and now make their music in Lincoln, a city-town neither urban enough for dandies or country enough for rodeo motorcyclists. Cranking out several 45s in one year, including one engineered by Jay Reatard, they've toured and played with bands such as the Black Lips, Radio Moscow, Boston Chinks, Gris Gris, and the Black Keys. Delivering in-your-face live performances, they describe themselves as "Guitar sluts and hook thieves with hearts of chrome, but with pretty good lyrics," and their music as "like burnt, steady tom beats, the blues, and looooooowwwwwd fuzz." Impressed by the band's dual sonic attack and on-stage presence, producer Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys has perfectly captured their wall of blasting fuzz and primal energy on this great rock'n'roll album.

SHINDIG! - PRESENTS PSYCHOTIC REACTION
Special edition of SHINDIG, totally dedicated to the US 60's garage explosion with in-depth and exclusive features - from the pens of top pop writers, archivists and historians - covering a broad spectrum of North American bands who have come to define the term "garage". Loooooong hair, Vox guitars, Farfisa organs, Beatle boots, tight Levis and a ton of snot and attitude - these bands invented the punk ethic 10 years before the word "punk" was even being used. From New York (The Blues Magoos) down to Florida (We The People); from Texas (Zakary Thaks) up to the North West (The Sonics, The Wailers); this is the first US garage reader to hit the shelves to date. Nobody has covered the U.S. 60s garage band explosion with such dedication and know-how before. Chapters presented here are: Sonics , Bay Area Garage , Count V , Flintstones , Gonn , Texas Garage , Garage in the Movies , Blues Magoos , Pleasure Seekers , Elastik Band , Standells , Rationals , Tampa Bay Garage , Davie Allan , We The People... and more.

BORIS - JAPANESE HEAVY ROCK HITS 2
Volume Two, "H.M.A. - Heavy Metal Addict", features two newly recorded tracks. On Side A, the title track "H.M.A." is a heady slab of heavy metal tropes, alternating between spacey industrial SFX, hard-driving guitar and the mantra-like chants of the titular acronym. Side B continues with "Black Original", which echoes the spacey, electronic drive of "H.M.A.", but cuts out any pretense towards the heavy rock vibe of Boris work, instead leaning towards a very basic electro-industrial approach. Cover features the controversial photo (ala Cold Lake era Celtic Frost!) of Atsuo. TRULY GRIMM!

ANCESTORS - OF SOUND MIND
Where Ancestors showed signs of promise on their debut album Neptune With Fire, they have trail-blazed new pathways with the 8-part opus Of Sound Mind. The have channelled the freedom of progressive stalwarts King Crimson, the craft and insight of Pink Floyd and the depth and brooding of Neurosis. The 8 part, 1 hour plus effort was recorded by Pete Lyman (Mars Volta). They weave an unorthodox mixture of sonic textures, down-tempo riffs and rhythms, accented with well crafted melodies. The combination delivers a cohesive journey akin to the ambitious undertakings of avant-garde musicians like Eric Dolphy, Peter Brotzmann or Miles Davis. Ancestors, including contributions by notable Los Angeles artists David Scott Stone (Melvins, Unwound), Sera Timms (Black Math Horseman) and cellist Ramiro Zapata have created an album truly Of Sound Mind.

FREEDOM HAWK - FREEDOM HAWK
This group is solid. Driven by powerful drum beats and excellently crafted guitar work, Freedom Hawk have composed seven exceptional hard rock tracks that dabble in metal and psychedelic and have a certain timeless quality to them. Attributing to this timelessness is the lead singers vocal performance. His melodic high-pitched vocals are reminiscent of Ozzy Osbourne with traces of Robert Plant. The songs are a lot of fun, meant to be played loud, and will immediately have you either bobbing your head or using your lap as a drum kit. Freedom Hawk takes us back to a time where making hard rock wasnt about making a lot of noise but rather about making very good music. Freedom Hawk have crafted a gem, and fans of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and classic hard rock are going to want to pick this one up.

JAMES, SKIP - JESUS IS A MIGHTY GOOD LEADER
Born in Bentonia, Mississippi in 1902, Skip James began recording for Paramount in Grafton, WI in the 1930s after showcasing his unmistakable talent in a series of auditions in Jackson, Mississippi. Particularly interesting was his three finger picking technique, his high pitch voice and the rural blues tales that he put in music for a subgenre of blues that was later called the "Bentonia school". RAINEY, MA - THOSE DOGS OF MINE
Ma Rainey or "The Mother Of The Blues" began recording in 1923 for Paramount, making her one of the first blues artists ever to record. Active since 1896 in vaudeville and minstrel shows, she was an incredible character, shocking the audiences with her odd lyrics and performances, often to the limit of decency and above all very uncommon for a woman of those times. This LP contains some of her greatest songs from those long lost recordings. Tracks - Side A: 1. Bo Weavil Blues 2. Barrel House Blues 3. Moonshine Blues 4. Last Minute Blues 5. Southern Blues 6. Lost Wandering Blues 7. Dream Blues 8. Honey, Where You Been So Long? 9. Lawd Send Me a Man Blues 10. Shave Em Dry Blues Side B: 1. Bad Luck Blues 2. Those All Night Long Blues 3. Walking Blues 4. Ya-Da-Do 5. Those Dogs of Mine "Famous Cornfield Blues" 6. Lucky Rock Blues 7. South Bound Blues 8. Ma Raineys Mystery Record 9. Farewell, Daddy Blues.
