It took Waldsonne almost three years to complete their debut full-length album. Of the 11 album-tracks on 'Wanderer' (four tracks from their internationally acclaimed 'Strahl' demo-EP are all re-recorded here), 5 are pure instrumental compositions, 1 comes with textless vocalization, 2 songs are sung in English, another 2 in German, and 1 is presented in Russian. The band combines clean mandolin, guitars, Irish harp, and violin into fairy acoustic blend of music with roots in medieval folk and heathen rite chants. The female singing leads the song at times strong and majestic though always tender and seductively romantic. The instrumentation hovers and weaves freely while song-structures and arrangements are complex and thorough. The whole work shines with heartwarming and inspiring tones. Yes, it's all about magic and fascination, not about dark melancholy or mental depressions.
