Last copy. A first time release for 2 untitled demos from Spectrum's 1992 classic 'Soul Kiss (Glide Divine)' LP. Listed here as 'untitled,' the pair of tunes here were penned by Richard Formby initially and were developed into the classics 'Sweet Running Water' and 'The Drunk Suite' for the LP which represented Sonic Boom's first project as a band post Spacemen 3. Lovely stripped down minimal pieces which represent a fascinating insight into how the tracks were first laid down and presented to Sonic and Mike Stout in the band. Definitely one for all Spacemen (and post S3 bands) afficionados and released as a one time pressing of 500 45s dressed up nice in PY's BBC '70s library 'tip of the hat' sleeves and additional backing card.

MAGIC ARM - GOOD VIEWS NEAR NORTH
Last copies. A beautiful comeback record of sorts for Marc Rigelsford's Magic Arm project. The 45 is a taster for his own privately released, and utterly fabulous 'Dance Mania' full length, currently available via his Bandcamp page. Recorded in isolation in a former whiskey distillery, 'Dance Mania' is "Magic Arm whittling and distilling sound down to pure forms, a collage of songs, mood pieces, drones, found sounds and stirring instrumental passages". The two tracks here are lifted from the album, with its A side, the majestic 'Good Views Near North' having already attained 6music airplay. The song's treated piano opening offers no hint to the beautifully incessant, kinda' motorik groove that then takes over - wonderfully skewed and quite otherworldly perhaps. The groove then changes tack again as it closes with cellos and strings aiding further it's general 'out there' mood. It's a beautiful piece and by releasing it on 45, one would hope to push Marc's music out a wee bit further, certainly it's a thrill for Feral Child to release it and it's flip, the more electronic, and equally fabulous '432' is just great too.

During 1967 The Syn released just two 45s for the Deram label, which have since been venerated by fans and collectors alike as classics of their genre. Unfortunately not a great deal of previously unreleased material by the band has surfaced since, but the unearthing of a hitherto undocumented acetate has enabled - with the blessing of the Syns singer and songwriter Steve Nardelli - Top Sounds to release the first new Syn vinyl 45 since 1967. The record features two 1967 recordings, a charming pre single demo of 'Created By Clive' and a fast paced mod styled raver called 'I'm Following You,' which was written and recorded for the bands 'Gangster Opera' but never saw the light of day. The single is accompanied by a '60s Decca/Deram styled promo card and is limited to 500 copies.

Rubinho e Mauro Assumpçao's 'Perfeitamente, Justamente Quando Cheguei' has to be up there as one of the finest Brazilian-psych-folk-MPB records. Unfortunately, it's very hard to find in the wild; even on digging trips to Brazil, an original copy rarely shows up, and when it does, it comes with a hefty price tag. This highly sought-after rarity was released on the Brazilian label Tapecar Records in 1972 and is the one and only album by the sensational pairing of Rubinho and Mauro Assumpçao. Effortlessly blending folk, MPB, funky-psych, rock, and relaxed, swaggering samba, this record ought to be heralded as a true Brazilian classic. However, maybe due to its scarcity and the previous reissue predominantly being only available to the Brazilian market, it has not had a chance to fully shine and find the wider audience it deserves. Through Mr Bongo's reissue they hope to put things right. Fans of records by Milton Nascimento and Lô Borges are sure to enjoy the same magic and allure in 'Perfeitamente, Justamente Quando Cheguei.' In addition to being the album's songwriters, Mauro Assumpçao took on the role of producer and Rubinho was co-producer as well as playing piano, organ, acoustic guitar and performing vocals. The record features the drummer Gegê who worked with Milton Nascimento, Edu Lobo, Nana Caymmi, Dom Um Romao and more. It also features guitarist Rick Ferreira, who played with Erasmo Carlos, Gal Costa and other greats. Rounding off the players on the album are Darcy Da Cruz and Formiga who have graced many a fine recording on horns. 'Uganda (Dawn Of Rock)' is a fusion of progressive and psych rock with African percussion workouts, dergy-wah wah blues-funk, and jazzy sensibilities; with different genres morphing and uniting as they progress. Last copy! In November 2017, Oresund Space Collective and Black Moon Circle played a show in Trondheim, Norway called 'Freak Out In The Fjord', which also featured the local band Red Mountains.
The next day they were booked into the excellent Ora Studio, one of the best in Trondheim, for a jam session. It took a few hours to set up all the gear (2 guitar set ups, 2 bass set ups, 3 drum kits (yes, 3!), modular synth, Fender Rhodes and Oberheim synth and OSC and BMC were ready to go. Four jams were recorded ranging from Miles Davis inspired ('Afterglow') to Grateful Dead ('Dinner') to heavy space rock ('Freak Out'). It is a hell of a 2 hour musical journey. Amazing artwork by Ed Unitsky. Limited to 184 copies on black vinyl.

ORESUND SPACE COLLECTIVE MEETS BLACK MOON CIRCLE - FREAK OUT IN THE FJORD (3LP/COL)
In November 2017, Oresund Space Collective and Black Moon Circle played a show in Trondheim, Norway called 'Freak Out In The Fjord', which also featured the local band Red Mountains.
The next day they were booked into the excellent Ora Studio, one of the best in Trondheim, for a jam session. It took a few hours to set up all the gear (2 guitar set ups, 2 bass set ups, 3 drum kits (yes, 3!), modular synth, Fender Rhodes and Oberheim synth and OSC and BMC were ready to go. Four jams were recorded ranging from Miles Davis inspired ('Afterglow') to Grateful Dead ('Dinner') to heavy space rock ('Freak Out'). It is a hell of a 2 hour musical journey. Amazing artwork by Ed Unitsky. Limited to 290 copies on coloured vinyl, light green transparent (side A/B), light blue (side C/D) and turquoise (side E/F).

Limited to 500 copies on hazy red vinyl. Sula did it again. An album recorded in 3 evenings. This time some 'Loop Station Drones'. With guitar, effect pedals, 2 loop stations, 2 guitar amps, a syncable drum computer, a very old organ from GDR (Weltmeister TO 200/5), a very old synthesizer (Roland SH 5) and a modern one (Roland SE-02) Sula instantly composed 7 tracks. Later Sula cutted them down a little and made some very little overdubs. 'Roadburn Haze' was exclusively made for the Roadburn Festival Redux in April 2021. Recorded on the 28th of March, together with tracks 2 and 7. Tracks 3-6 recorded on the 13th and 14th of May for Radio KFJC home stream-concert. But only the first 3 of them appeared. These were filmed by Thierry Miguet for Wah Wah TV and you can watch it at his great Youtube channel.

Four totally whacked out, deep cuts that defy any hopes of genre pigeonholing; a deliciously dazzling moulding of ambitious grooves and ideas from the wonderful Wet Tuna. Never short on dizzying ambition, Feral Child described it as a 'Space Dub Psych Disco collision' on an Instagram post and that kinda holds true a few days on here. What happens when two of the best in their game go on tour together? Record a 7" EP to accompany said tour... The 5.6.7.8's and The Masonics (including Miss Ludella Black) have been friends for longer then they can remember. In 2022, The Masonics joined The 5.6.7.8's on their five-night UK tour, with Ludella Black joining both groups onstage too. The 5.6.7.8's formed when Sachiko and Yoshiko "Ronnie" Fujiyama, two sisters from Tokyo who both shared a passion for rock and roll, founded the band in 1986 with two other members. After several line-up changes (including the bassist Yoshiko "Yama" Yamaguchi, who was the bassist featured in the 'Kill Bill' movie), the band eventually became a trio. Yoshiko and Sachiko are still the main components in the band, and now Akiko Omo has rejoined the band as the bass guitarist (she originally joined The 5.6.7.8's in the early 1990s). The 5.6.7.8's sound draws from multiple genres of music, including rock and roll, surf, rockabilly, doo-wop, punk rock and psychobilly. The Masonics are the Kings Of Medway Beat! Why? Well, with Mickey Hampshire (The Milkshakes, Mickey & The Salty Seadogs, Mickey And Ludella), Bruce Brand (The Pop Rivets, The Milkshakes, Auntie Vegetable, Thee Headcoats, The Kravin' "A"s, The Clique, Dutronc, The Voo-Dooms and more) and John Gibbs (The Wildebeests, The Kaisers), this Medway-based trio have got enough rhythm'n'beat and rock'n'roll in their blood streams to stop the world! Since 1991 The Masonics have been raising roofs all across the land, and disturbing audio grooves on at least ten studio albums and nine singles. There's no stopping them! As mentioned earlier, this four-track 7" EP has been recorded to accompany the joint ten-night tour in Japan, in October 2023. Each group has recorded a cover and an original. Limited to 1000 copies.

The Guy Hamper Trio was formed by Billy Childish, after a chat with his friend James Taylor (Hammond organ). They had played respectively in The Milkshakes and The Prisoners, often sharing the same bill in the early '80s. And indeed, Billy's blues ensemble: The Natural Born Lovers were the support act for the early shows of The James Taylor Quartet. The Guy Hamper Trio is: Billy Childish on guitar, his wife Julie on bass and Wolf Howard on drums - who as it happens was the drummer in the original incarnation of JTQ - and of course features James Taylor on Hammond organ. The Guy Hamper Trio provide a bottom end, blues-influenced instrumental mayhem for those unafraid of dirt, germs and true grime. With no particular wish other than to be recognised as the best at playing badly, while they obey no terms and conditions. Their first 45 ('Polygraph Test'/'Sally Sensation') was released in 2009 through Damaged Goods, and a full-length studio album, 'All The Poisons In The Mud,' appeared, as if by magic in 2022, also on Damaged Goods.
The title 'All The Poisons In The Mud' is also the title of a novel that Billy Childish has been writing, and rewriting, over the past twelve years about his brief plunge in the punk scene of 1977. It is also a quote from 'I, Claudius' by Robert Graves; a major influence on the fifteen-year old Gus Claudius AKA Billy Childish. This twin-spin single includes the title track from the recent album 'All The Poisons In The Mud,' backed with a cover of Jimi Hendrix's excellent tune 'Fire' (written just down the road from Chatham when Jimi was visiting Noel Redding's parents in Folkestone). After consultation with experts in the field, it was decreed that these tracks needed to be on a 7" single, for the enjoyment of the revellers and all those prone to frequent discotheques throughout England, the UK, Europe, the USA, Indonesia and beyond! Limited to 500 copies.

Tapioca Tundra is a collaboration between Mary Wyer/Julian Knowles (Even As We Speak) and Beth Arzy (Jetstream Pony and The Luxembourg Signal). The idea came about when bands Even As We Speak and Jetstream Pony were due to share a stage in London in March of 2020, and with Mary and Beth both being big fans of The Monkees they had planned to gather on stage for a cover. Sadly the pandemic hit, which cancelled said gig. But like many, long distance task recording methods were employed to allow the collaboration to continue in the form of an audio recording (and accompanying video). Both Even As We Speak and Jetstream Pony (and The Luxembourg Signal too) released albums in 2020, during a very trying time, but with raving reviews.
Sounds Incarcerated is the noise made when two married musicians (Viv Bonsels and former (The) Prisoner(s) Allan Crockford) are unable to record or perform with their regular band The Galileo 7. Over the course of the pandemic they recorded many cover versions and accompanying videos for a regular local themed online 'open-mic' event. Although the songs were initially recorded just to pass the time and entertain a small bunch of friends, the reaction was so positive that an album was swiftly put together - 'Unswitchable Hits Vol. 1' was released at the beginning of 2021. This version of The Monkees 'Porpoise Song' was recorded for the 'Animal Magic' theme night in Feb. '21, and will feature on Vol. 2. It is given an advance vinyl release here thanks to the serendipitous simultaneous appearance of a Monkees cover by another lockdown musical collective... There's not much more to say except 'hey, hey it's...'! Limited to 300 handnumbered copies.

Repress of 250 copies on blue vinyl. The seventh release on Love Child Records sees the South Coast's finest Acid Attack on 7" vinyl for the first time with two of the bands most-loved recordings. Formed in 1980 in Southsea, Hants, Acid Attack have proved to be legends of the punk scene of the early '80s and the subject of much interest. Acid Attack were originally in existence for four years in which time they released the 13 track cassette album 'Sulphuric' and contributed the track 'Suburbia's Dream' to the Sane Records 1984 compilation LP 'On the Street'. In terms of era, they fit into what is now known as the UK82 punk scene but they think the sound is not so easy to categorise. They were neither oi or hardcore punk.

Last copies. Mid-1980's suburban Chicago punk. Naperville's Protagonists formed in the wake of the first wave of Chicago hardcore punk. Instead of being inspired by the first generation weirdo Chicago punks like Silver Abuse and Tutu & The Pirates or the hardcore legion that followed (AOF, ROTA, Negative Element, etc.), Protagonists drew their motivation from sources as diverse as punk icons Buzzcocks, The Dickies and The Damned to prime era '50s and '60s teen anthems (Buddy Holly, Del Shannon, and The Monkees). The group formed in a Naperville high school, played local talent shows and teen dance parties, and hooked up with older kids (Reaction Formation) who helped them get radio gigs and put out a tape recorded by Phil Bonnet, influential recording engineer and long time friend. The band followed up with a 7" for Reaction Formation's label Nova which garnered positive reviews but they were shortly after pulled apart by the usual strains on the end of adolescent trajectories. This compilation gathers their original tape, unheard outside of the suburban Chicago teen punk scene, and pairs it with the songs
from their hard-to-find 7" EP (originally pressed in 1000 copies in 1985). The b-side features basement demos of original songs recorded by the band as well some great covers which show they could rock as a punk dance band. Limited edition of 500 copies on 160 gram blue vinyl in a 20pt board jacket with full
color printed inner sleeve featuring (lots of) previously unseen photos of the band and detailed liner notes.

Simply obliterating any conception of the Wipers as a mere punk band, Greg Sage released this follow-up to 'Is This Real?' in 1981 - a sophisticated, overwhelming response to the evil times marked by the turn of the decade. Broken up into six long songs, 'Youth Of America' is a much colder, harrowing experience than the teen angst of their debut. Vocally, Sage comes off as sleep-deprived and forsaken, snarling not only at

The centerpiece of the album is the title track, a dire ten minutes of paranoia and angst that gave Sage the space to showcase his wildest, darkest playing yet. As bassist Brad

MIDNIGHT HOUR - NIGHTFLOWERS EP
Midnight Hour were a west London mod-revival outfit formed in 1979. They were the hybrid of three other bands. Drummer Keith Lane had been an original member of The Scooters, London's first mod-revival band formed in 1978. Bassist Pete Branscombe and keyboard player Simon Roe had both been component parts of The Onlookers, another mod band from Slough who later went on to things, more lysergic and Jess Young and Rick Blackman had been in new wave band The Blitz, so punk, they had not even learnt to play the 'third chord'. Midnight Hour gigged around the usual mod circuit in West London, The White Hart and Jingles in Southall, The Adam & Eve in Hayes. There were residencies in The Anglers Retreat in West Drayton, The Royal Oak in Hayes and monthly spots at the popular inter-gig initiative around the borough, sometimes they even ventured as far afield as Kensington and Hammersmith. Their last gig was with The Little Roosters in The Hambrough Tavern the night before it was burnt down, though Midnight Hour's solicitor stresses that the two incidents were not related, at all. What is presented here on Heavy Soul Records is the demo for what was going to be an EP released on a small West London label in the Spring of 1981. For one reason or another this did not happen and so here, for the first time, are Hayes's finest, the missing West London link to the mod revival. Things may never be the same again.

Aural Exile is a solo band of varying genres formed by Griimoiire in 2007. Chris Paul (who went on to form the post-punk band, Catholic Playground) played bass in the early lineup with several drummers under the project's original name, The Apparition. Griimoiire recorded the debut album, 'Attrition' in the autumn of 2010 with Vince Burke. It was produced by Griimoiire the following winter and privately distributed. For the next five years, many demo tapes were recorded using an analog 4-track recorder, but none have been released to the public thus far (only 'Dreadful Entrenchment' and 'Nightmare Everlasting' are available to listen to). In 2015, Aural Exile finished recording the sophomore release, 'Empathy And Misanthropy' at the now abandoned Abysmal Lair studio. It was released on vinyl in 2015. Now available in Europe finally.

"I wrote and recorded somewhere around thirty songs in 1988. A large percentage of them were heavily influenced by the gothic movement of the early '80s. Bands like Bauhaus, Christian Death, Tones On Tail, Mighty Sphincter, Death Cult and Samhain were obvious inspirations during this time in his life. In 1988 I was making music with a band called Twelve Thirty Dreamtime and in that year alone I worked with three different rhythm sections. All of the songs I wrote that year were captured on tape but the recordings were done on the most primitive equipment in the bedrooms and basements of people that would let us make noise in their space. At that point I was doing 2 track tape to tape overdubbing and after a few passes the tape hiss would be almost unbearable. When I listen back to the old recordings sometimes I think those limitations are cool and add to the eerie quality of the music but over the last 32 years I've also wanted to hear what the songs would have sounded like done in a proper recording studio. I did my best to NOT overplay or add too many additional ideas beyond the original versions. When I would start to add extra layers to some of the tracks I almost always scrapped the idea soon after. The album was recorded in two parts, the first in England in 1990, and the second after a long time break in 1996-97, by Brendan Perry at DCD's Quivvy Church studio in Ireland. The album was released on CD in 1999 on the US label Projekt and was dubbed by critics as "the album the Beatles might have made had the group signed with 4AD instead of Capitol" and "a wonderful collection of songs that, while in the 4AD school, shimmers with an inner lightness that makes it very different".

Last copies. A killer dual artist 45, with tracks from renowned French electronic artist Alexandre Bazin and the fabulous Wladyslaw Trejo. Alexandre Bazin is a current member of the renowned Groupe de Recherches Musicales (GRM), based in Paris, France. His work "considers the sonic experience drawing on a rich mix of acoustic instrumentation and analogue synthesis. As an experimentalist music researcher, Bazin's compositional projects are primarily concerned with a very personal seal on a music of emotional power". 'Red Ochre' is a taster to his wonderful new full length scheduled on PY for early 2020. The flip is, -of the two- arguably the more immediate of the two tracks here, the incredible 'Movida' by Wladyslaw Trejo. In your face from the off, this high tempo, electro-punk banger tips it's hat in equal measure to Suicide, Chrome with a touch of Richard Pinhas thrown in too. Trejo is a Spanish musician forged in the underground scene and known for his roles with synthwave duo Slovenska Televiza. In his solo project, Trejo leans more towards his punk side whilst revealing, in his words: "an intimate side with no qualms about tearing the ribs out and exposing the soul; and the fears and evil that lurks in us all! A dark and psychotropic journey in the form of feverish electronics, with industrial rhythms and almost paranoid walls of sound. 'Movida' is a taster to a full length also on Polytechnic Youth in 2020. The track narrates the difficulties of being young, going out to party and becoming involved in fights without looking for one." Last copies. A fabulous 4 track 7" EP by Morgane Lhote's post Stereolab project Hologram Teen released on pink wax in ace Nick Taylor artwork. Morgane herself says of the project "the EP is the soundtrack to an imaginary 1980s dystopian sci-fi French movie in the vein of 'Le Prix Du Danger', 'Les Maîtres Du Temps' and 'Le Dernier Combat'. The tracks follow the linear film narrative (at least my version of it!) of set up/conflict, "the chase scene", hope, and finding love. I kept the instrumentation simple and the songs short, with a handful of tracks and synths settings across the tunes, to keep a cohesive sound and narrative. it was really freeing to go for the "less is more" approach for once. That is until the last track which goes a bit 'Xanadu' on you, but trust me, that's a good thing!"
The EP recalls a passing nod to those early to mid '70s French cosmo-disco LPs, which at one point you'd struggle to give away, yet now fetch £50+ at Utrecht fairs - once thought as cheesy now highly sought after and in their own way, quite pioneering and often in whacked out, cosmic sleeve art. Masonic Kitchen is the solo project of Chris Walker, whose inspiration came when he found an obscure 1970's sc-fi novel in his local bookshop's bargain pile. Its intriguing cover (with Asimov font) and story's themes "despite being quite dated, inspired 4 tunes that easily have been conceived in the late '70s or early '80s. PY lifted 2 of these tracks for the 7" here and both are just fabulous; ticking all the minimal synth boxes- sequencers, drum machines etc etc. The A side is a particular banger and is already incredibly well received after initial listens to it's teaser clip online. Riding high with acclaim for his current full length on Sonic Cathedral, Martin offers up 2 fantastic pieces in tandem, unique to this vinyl only 45. GRANCHER, BERNARD - TROUBLANTE TOURNURE
Last copies. Killer full length from ace experimental electronic musician Bernard Grancher. Grancher himself began his "career" as a somewhat under the radar, host/director of "mostly forbidden" radio programmes, where in Bernard's own words, he created "incongruous sound collages, that gradually slip towards noisy or disturbing sounds intended to replace the music of others', within its broadcasts". Then, armed with a large accumulation of "machines I found at low prices, with an unknowing of quite how they function" he sought the help of friends Yan Hart-Lemonnier and Eric Lumbleau (from the hugely respected 'Mutant Sounds' blog, and his project Vas Deferens Organazation). Then, having released what he describes as two "rather talkative" LPs by taking again "the concept of it's emissions: Hallucinatory slogans and electro punk", Grancher, then released with ERR.REC, leading in turn to the PY full length here. A fabulous LP hugely recommended to all kraut heads, experimental electronic sound collages, motorik grooves and minimal synth all figure strongly. KNOX, GABE/PULSLIEBHABER - SPLIT LP
Last copies. The Gabe Knox side collects a trio of hard-to-find rarities and 'lost' gems; kicking off with 'Student Disco '81,' previously available on a limited Record Store Day 7", it's a sickly-sweet Krautrock inflected synthpop confection, with just enough bite to fill the dancefloors of a bygone era. The other two cuts, fan favourite 'Carbon Bubble' and the ultra-rare 'Cosmic Debris,' which amply showcases Knox's more expansive, experimental-but-still-melodic side, made available for the first time on vinyl. On the flip, Mat Handley's Pulsliebhaber project was an exercise in super-fast recording with as little computer use as possible (for sequencing or processing). Although, as Mat explains "my keyboard playing skills are rudimentary (at best), first takes were used just about every time. Each of my seven tracks were written and recorded in a single session with not one of them taking more than a couple of hours to finish, some of them significantly less than 60 minutes. I think the original intention was to record a bunch of tracks and revisit them later, but after sending them to Dom PY it was agreed to release them as they are with just a little sheen provided by Jez Butler's mastering. So yes, some of the timings are shaky with the odd bum note here and there, but the process was very refreshing especially after spending five years each on the first two Pulselovers albums. Drums were all provided by Volca Beats and the Volca Kick (with maybe one appearance of the Drum Brute). Synths used were the MFB Dominion X, the Korg MS20 Mini and my trusty old Bass Station 2. Everything was fed through a variety of noisy guitar pedals and recorded either onto tape or directly into Audition, whilst titles were all selected from a half hour spent down a Wikipedia rabbit hole and mean absolutely nothing. Thanks go to Gabe for agreeing to share this piece of plastic with me, to Jez for making my synth noodles (almost) presentable and especially to Dom for his enthusiasm and for giving us all Polytechnic Youth." There you have it, a wonderful LP recommended to anyone into Sky Records, Kosmische, previous PY input of course and everything inbetween. Expected to sell out super quick. Limited to 300 copies on neon yellow vinyl.

LAND OF YRX - FORGET THE LESSONS OF THE PAST
Last copies. 'SELECTED CASSETTE RECORDINGS MAY 1983-AUGUST 1984' - A wonderful -and long overdue- vinyl compilation of key UK electronic pioneers The Land Of Yrx's work between 1982 and 1984. Released almost exclusively across a series of DIY produced cassette only releases, the band's output is now revered in that golden period of groundbreaking, home recorded 4 track experimental/minimal electronics releases, all of which are highly sought after and hugely influential on the swell of electronic musicians that followed at that point in the UK. The duo consists of Shrewsbury based Rob Andrews and Dave Gate (extended for live shows) and with their core discography being so utterly wonderful, honing in on a fair representation of their work with 20 minute-a-side time caps here, was no mean feat. So much of their greatest work featured across epic 15 minute plus jams - ideal for the cassette format, but trickier for wax. But we've got there; 7 beauties which highlight the bands' love for experimental electronica, kosmische/krautrock and prog perfectly - all underpinned with Rob's superb often Gottsching-esque guitar work. A superb band, totally worthy of further investigation - massively recommended to anyone into any of the above, or that core of early UK electronic underground/cassette scene of Colin Potter, Paul Nagle, Neural Circus as well as overseas heavyweights like Conrad Schnitzler etc. Limited to 300 copies.

LISTENING CENTER - CYBERNETIC WINDOW
Last copies. 2022 full length from Dublin born, NY based synthesist and instrumentalist, David Mason's Listening Center project. Following a sold out back catalogue on labels as diverse as Ghost Box, Temporary Tapes, Texte Und Töne and Russian Library (not to mention various releases on PY since 2016). Nine killer cuts of wonderfully warm, richly melodic electronica; exquisitely crafted micro-beat analogue essays recorded directly to 2 track (the only exceptions being the occasional overdub of a string synth). Perhaps bearing a nod to a more Kraftwerk-ian feel than previous output but uniquely fresh and of the moment and still maintaining that old school BBC educational/testcard/soundtrack feel that David has within his music. Limited to 500 copies.

SLOW ENGINEER - WHERE COMES THE DARK?
Last copy. 'Where Comes The Dark?' is the debut full length from shadowy, underground producer The Slow Engineer. An album of sculpted synthsonics and Eldritch electronics originally released on a limited run, blink and you'll miss it cassette which sold out in 24 hrs. Heavy on basslines, with driving rhythms and tweaked synthesisers, it's a record which openly acknowledges it's nod to horror scores and the work of the Radiophonic Workshop whilst pulling off something uniquely and freshly new, with an assembled array of wayward equipment stored at his Analogue Hades base. British horror actor Laurence R. Harvey adds suitably menacing narration in places, and across 10 fabulous tracks this is a richly, deliciously diverse electronic record which comes hugely recommended to fans of John Carpenter, not to mention label mates The Heartwood Institute and Dream Division. A one time pressing of 300, destined to sell out pretty swiftly.

VARIOUS - THEY MAKE NO SAY/POPCORN LUNG (2LP)
Last copies. Crouch End based minimal synth label Polytechnic Youth, kicks off 2020 with the long promised -and much requested- repackaging of its' 2 compilation LPs. Still considered by PY label head Dom as the best intro point to the label for newcomers, his plan is to keep this one in print for a while. 2016's 'They Make No Say' sold out 2 pressings upon its release in 2016 and features 13 fabulous tracks of minimal and experimental electronica, including tracks from the PY01 Volume Groop lathe cut 45 (now reaching £120+) alongside other small run, sold out 45s and especially recorded new tracks. Lots of PY favourites here: Detox Twins, Middex, Home Current etc., several of which attained BBC6music plays and amassed a number of "album of the week" write ups across the country and in Europe, at the time of release. Part 2 to the set is the equally wonderful 'Popcorn Lung' collection, again reissued for a first time here. Released in 2018, the album charts the consistently steady rise of the label in the two years since the first collection, with another killer comp of electronic pop and exploratory synth tracks; and featuring perhaps, a more diverse line up taking in German and French artists who had recorded for the label at this point. Once again, several acts have now become PY favourites: Polypores, Gabe Knox, Bernard Grancher, Australian Testing Labs Inc. etc., all feature and this set again was many key UK stores "album of the week" and had cuts featured on 6music programmes at the time. The album features a brand new Musta Fior collage sleeve, with 'They Make No Say' released on "deep red" vinyl and 'Popcorn' on "mustard" wax. Released as a pressing of 300 and hugely recommended to all fans of The Normal, early Mute, early Cabs, Fad Gadget, John Bender, Transparent Illusion, Dark Entries/Minimal Wave/ Peripheral Minimal output and minimal synth/DIY electronics in general.

Cow feature the team of Maxine and Mark Boxall, who have gathered a strong support base following selective live dates and through their previous releases. 'Misery' is a mixture of The Kinks and Vaudeville with hints of Imelda May and Amy featuring some strong vocals from Maxine. Aunt Nelly are a firm favourite of Heavy Soul! Records having featured them a few times on various releases including the 'Never Gonna Sleep At Night' 7". There's certainly a bit of Modernist history there with Dom and Phil, main members of London's hippest Mod band The Clique, whilst Gav played with The Bresslaws and Snowy in The Effectives - add to that the amazing soulful vocals of Ruthie Ling and well, any decent DJ with some balls will be adding this to a set. The trademark organ and up-beat soul flows throughout.

GROOVE CONNECTION - CAN YOU HEAR ME/WHEN I'M WITH YOU
The Groove Connection formed in Medway, Kent during the early 90s, amongst the Acid Jazz heyday, playing clubs, pubs and festivals up and down the land with their urban jazz-funk grooves. In 2001 the band recorded, and released their second album 'Back To Brooklyn,' introducing vocalist Laura Knight and guest hammond virtuoso Gary Baldwin, a ten-track full-length, CD-only release. Other tracks were recorded in the same session. Two tracks that didn't make the last album were 'Can You Hear Me' and 'When I'm With You,' both vocal filled, and Spinout Nuggets decided to capture them onto two continuous grooves. Limited to 300 copies.
