"Start with a fat dose of The Hellacopters. These bastards play it so tight. The singer makes me think of Iggy, the pace makes me think of Motorhead, and the vibe makes me think of MC5, but we have some spaciness here that will make this of more interest to Stoner Rock fans. The things is, the playing here is so good that Valient Thorr could call themselves prog with just a few more chord/tempo changes. They bring the rock to the party, and they smoke it. If the slow, doomy stuff starts bogging you down, this LP is the equivalent of jumper cables.
