DEAD MOON - DEAD AHEAD (LP/TOMBSTONE) Available again, original Tombstone copies of the final Dead Moon LP! A sometimes sweet, sometimes hard rockin' blow out classic. And of course deliciously lo-fi as hell!
DON'T - AWAY AWAY (LP-CD/DOOMTOWN SOUNDS) Don't is an epic, rocking outfit from Portland, featuring ex-members of The Wipers (original drummer Sam Henry) and Napalm Beach. 'Away Away' kinda sounds like the Gits meets LA Fraction, with some Wipers thrown in for good measure!
CORONER - THE UNKNOWN (RARE AND UNRELEASED) (LP/NIGHT OF THE VINYL DEAD) Classic death metal! Until now this material was only available as a tape, sold at the 'Farewell Tour' in early 1996! Now it appears as a noble double gatefold black vinyl with the original cassette artwork! Limited to 250 hand numbered copies.
P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S. - MAKE IT THROUGH THE NIGHT (CD/DOOMTOWN SOUNDS) Here's the CD version of the mind-shattering debut full length from Portland's loudest drunks, featuring members of Pierced Arrows (Kelly Halliburton, also Defiance) , The Weaklings, and Burning Leather. The CD features all of the first four out-of-print singles as bonus tracks! You may expect raging, furious, '80s style driving garage/punk rock!
DON'T - LOVE LOST/KILLING ME (7"/DOOMTOWN SOUNDS) Following on the wake of their amazing first LP, Don't releases this powerful single. Combining impassioned vocals with precision, heartfelt songwriting, these guys continues to play the kind of powerhouse sounds that Portland has become known for. In the fall of 2012 Don't will support Pierced Arrows on their European tour.
60’s & 70’s & 80’s (RE-)RELEASES AND ARTISTS + OTHER OLDIES
NIMBUS - LIVE IN LIVERMORE, 1970 (LP/SHATTERED MUSIC) The only known live recordings of Nimbus, a savage and raw, unreleased psych band based in Livermore, CA. This material from the late 1960s and early 1970s finally sees the light of day, pressed on limited clear and (even more limited) grey vinyl.
MENIC - RAILROAD BLUES ANTHOLOGY (LP-CD/VOODOO RHYTHM) The first solo effort from Menic, who's known as the singer, songwriter guitarist and fiddle player of 'kick ass blue grass' combo Zeno Tornado & The Boney Google Brothers. This collection offers 12 songs, drawing from a wide palette of moods and styles, played on many different instruments including mandolin, accordion, violin, banjo, but -of course- also guitars!
VOCOKESH - LOOKING FOR MY HEAD (LP/PURE POP FOR NOW PEOPLE) New material from the Milwaukee acid heads, recorded both live and at the sudio in 2011-2012. 'Looking For My Head' features the last recordings with John Helwig, who sadly passed away early 2011, and introduces a new Vocokesh member on one track.
SUGARETTES - DESTROYERS OF WORLDS (CD/SUBROUTINE) The cheerleading stormtroopers of Eindhoven's indie scene follow-up their critically acclaimed debut 'Love & Other Perversities' with a brand new collection of tunes. 'Destroyers Of Worlds' offer eleven burning declarations of infatuation, passion and sex. These are pretty common topics in the world of The Sugarettes, but since the two vocalists of the band have become each other's muses, some very compelling, intense ingredients have been added to the concoction.
GANDHI'S GUNN - THE LONGER THE BEARD, THE HARDER THE SOUND (LP-CD/TAXI DRIVER) The excellent second album by Gandhi's Gunn features eight heavy rock songs, drenched in post-rock, psychedelia, doom, kraut and even bits of metal. Impressive!
BELZEBONG - SONIC SCAPES & WEEDY GROOVES (LP-CD/EMETIC) Sonic scapes and weedy grooves brought to you by a heavy doom-fuzz outfit from Poland. Sensational stuff! Not suitable for the faint of heart! Limited vinyl edition of 300 copies!
NEKROPOLIS - MUSIK AUS DEN SCHATTENREICH (LP/PURE POP FOR NOW PEOPLE) Reissue of a mega rare late Kraut album from 1979. This title, their debut LP, was originally released in an edition of 500. Since most of those were exported to Japan and the USA, copies are extremely hard to find. This edition comes with new artwork and contains the discography of mastermind Peter Frohmader.
GARFIELD STEEL - DARKNESS FREEDOM (CD/EKTRO) 'Darkness Freedom' is part classic NWOFHM and part futuristic synthesizer exploration. Hard rocking guitars intertwine with smoothly pulsating drum machines and eerie effects, creating a haunting new synthesis of heavy rock and electronic sound manipulation. The Newest Wave Of Finnish Heavy Metal has arrived!
STENCH OF DECAY - STENCH OF DECAY (CD/EKTRO) Although they startd as an aggressive heavy metal outfit, Stench Of Decay have evolved towards a more personal style that combines crushing heaviness and dark melodies. This compilation offers the band's first first three releases, from their rare s/t debut demo to their classic titles 'Where Death And Decay Reign' and Visions Beyond Death'. Recommended to fans of Finnish death metal and the rocking side of Circle.
MALABIMBA - MALABIMBA (LP/CINEPLOIT) Malabimba is a duo that creates soundtracks for non-existing '70s Cinecitta flicks. All recordings are analogue and the music is handmade by using drums and percussion instruments, keyboards and no computers!
THELEMA - HEARING THE LIGHT (LP-CD/CINEPLOIT) On 'Hearing The Light' Austria's Thelema explores new musical territory. The notable result sounds like a virtual soundtrack, mixing Film Noir atmospheres with '60s and '70s Euro Trash. The LP edition includes the CD version. Also available as CD, without the vinyl...
GOLD - GONE UNDER/MEDICINE MAN (7"/VAN RECORDS) The already highly acclaimed 7" debut from this Dutch band is strongly rooted in '70s hardrock and classic NWOBHM.
THUNDERBEATS - I WANNA TAKE YOU DOWN/CONFUSION (7"/GROOVIE) A cool single from a '60s inspired garage-beat-psych unit from Moscow. They sound like a combination of Kinks, Troggs, Birds and Small Faces with a 'Back From The Grave'-like r'n'b garage-punk edge.
VARIOUS - DOGGY DAYS (2DVD/FUTURE NOW) Japanese import! Since 1968, The Dogs (who hail from Detroit/Lansing, Michigan), have been kicking out the jams! This DVD package reflects the accomplishments, qualities and energy of a kick ass world renowned band. The time, energy, quality and resources put into its creation commemorate the 40th Anniversary of The Dogs. Three years have been invested in producing the highest quality DVD production, performance, materials and artistry that is rarely seen in any DVD package. Includes a 28 page booklet featuring liner notes by Wayne Kramer (MC5) and Jeff Dahl!
60’s & 70’s & 80’s (RE-)RELEASES AND ARTISTS + OTHER OLDIES
OUTSIDERS - MONKEY ON YOUR BACK: THE 45'S (2LP/PSEUDONYM) A superb double LP, collecting all the original A- and B-sides of all of the mono singles by the undisputed Dutch sixties garage/r&b-legends, led by the uniquely gifted songwriting team of singer Wally Tax and guitarist Ronnie Splinter. Includes famous tracks s.a. 'Lying All The Time', 'Touch', 'Monkey On Your Back' and 'Summer Is Here', alongside favourites like 'Suns Going Down', 'I Love Her Still', 'I Always Will', 'That's Your Problem' and 'You Remind Me'. A handful of rarities and unreleased tracks round out this set, which is a must have for any fan of raw and honest '60s sounds.
HARD-ONS - SMELL MY FINGER (2CD/CITADEL) First volume in the five part reissue series 'The Hard-Ons-A Decade Of Rock'. This definitive body of work will present the entire official recorded output of The Hard-Ons' first ten years of existence with a new reissue every three to four months. 'Smell My Finger' debuts the series. Spanning the years 1984-1987, it contains all of the bands early 7-inch releases and the two album releases 'Smell My Finger' and 'Hot For Your Love, Baby'. Presented in a six panel wallet, every officially released Hard-Ons tune from the period, down to the most obscure compilation track, has been included!
MANILLA ROAD - COURTS OF CHAOS (CD/SHADOW KINGDOM) CD reissue of their masterful 1990 album. Though the sound here has some atmospheric keyboards, it also is their last album to really have a clear '80s thrash influence. Features the band's legendary epic metal track, 'The Book Of Skelos'.
MANILLA ROAD - OPEN THE GATES (CD/SHADOW KINGDOM) CD reissue of their fourth album, originally released in 1985. This is a classic Manilla Road title and essential for any heavy metal collection. Includes some of the finest recordings they ever came up with.
GORDON LOWE - FOLLOW THE SOUND (CD/MEDIA ARTE) Reissue on CD of a rare, early '70s, psych-folk album from Toronto native Gordon Lowe, recorded in Philadelphia.
GORDON LOWE & LAUREL WARD - PRISM (CD/MEDIA ARTE) Another excellent folk album from Gordon Lowe, this time accompanied by Laurel Ward.
HOOKER - ROCK AND ROLL (CD/ROCKADROME) Compilation-CD of recently unearthed recordings from this Houston, Texas area '70s hard rock band, including tracks from their never released album. The music is loaded with typical Texas-style guitar action and oozes with that classic '70s rock vibe. Including three bonus tracks, this will appeal to fans of a.o. Ultra, Cain and Poobah.
J. TEAL BAND - COOKS (CD/ROCKADROME) Vintage reissue of 1977 private press hard rock album from South Carolina, originally released on the Mother Cleo label. Well respected among collectors for its top notch guitar playing and clean undistorted jams. Here's a real long lost gem from the '70s private press underground.
IMPI - IMPI (CD/FRESH) Featuring highly regarded South-African musician John Kongos, this is an early '80s album of African influenced progressive folk-rock, with elements of psychedelia and brass rock, and with soulful vocals. Ten tracks!
VARIOUS - BONEHEAD CRUSHERS, VOL. 2 (LP/BELTER RECORDS) More incredibly loud 'n heavy, fuzz drenched proto-punk obscurities from the USA, 1969-1977. These artefacts of ultra cool were uncovered from 45s, pressed in tiny quantities between 1969 and 1977 and forge a direct link between 'Pebbles' and 'Nuggets' type garage to the blow out of '76 punk. Limited to 300 numbered copies!
The awesome debut solo album from Digger & The Pussycats' Sam Agostino a.k.a. BRAT FARRAR (LP out on P.TRASH and CD on OFF THE HIP) can now be heard on the VPRO/3Voor12 Luisterpaal: http://3voor12.vpro.nl/#!/albums.html

DEAN ALLEN FOYD - THE SOUNDS CAN BE SO CRUEL (LP-CD/CRUSHER) reviewed by Jan-Simon for Lords Of Metal (translated excerpt) I know the year is still young, but strange things must happen to keep this album off the no. 1 spot in my personal Top 10 for 2012. reviewed by André de Waal for IO Pages (translated excerpt) The album starts quite heavy in enjoyable space rock fashion, but then gets more and more psychedelic...
ROY & THE DEVIL'S MOTORCYCLE - TELL IT TO THE PEOPLE (CD-LP/VOODOO RHYTHM) reviewed by Joost Jan Meertens for Planet Trash (translated excerpt) Roy And The Devil's Motorcycle is the kind of band that will gain wider recognition way after the last member has died.
